Cher is a stealth progressive now. She just doesn't want to be an activist celebrity. I hardly think she is abusing her celebrity for political ends - that was the whole point of this story.

She had a large role in The China Syndrome. If she wasn't a progressive beforehand, she probably moved several steps in that direction as a result of that film.
