yeah. me too.
i only have to think "o this might be a bit embarrassing" even if i'm not actually embarrassed and...uh-oh!

gaz (gaz), Saturday, 29 November 2003 06:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, I blush like a motherfucker. At a certain point I learned to just enjoy that creeping warm feeling, and if anyone says, "Hey, you're blushing," I just act all aw-shucks and stuff. I realized it's like dimples (which I also have), people think it's cute. That's OK. There are worse things in life.

spittle (spittle), Saturday, 29 November 2003 06:15 (twenty-two years ago)

It usually takes a lot for me to blush, but I do, and sometimes if I'm talking to the right person, blushing can come quite quickly, easily, and in rapid succession.

I think my last occasion was when I realised that I'd just said, to a bookshop owner (and don't forget the opening two words here): "More generally, do you have any books on 15th century Japanese Zen buddhist monochrome ink landscape painting?"

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 29 November 2003 14:23 (twenty-two years ago)

yes. not very often, but i do. it happens infrequently enough that i don't think of myself as a blusher, and then wham - i'll go bright red. of course everyone has to say "awwww," which tends to make it worse.

lauren (laurenp), Saturday, 29 November 2003 17:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Pure reflex, Lauren, like when the doc taps your knee with the hammer during checkup.

I suppose I do blush, though I'm so dark, you wouldn't see it. I'm better at making others blush, though....

blushing c/d?

Elvis Telecom (Chris Barrus), Saturday, 29 November 2003 18:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Like a... like a... well, whoever blushes a lot these days. Teenage maidens? Hardly, or do they?

Yes, often, unrepentently. I know it's considered cute and I milk the occasion when it comes.

nestmanso (nestmanso), Saturday, 29 November 2003 18:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a tendency to turn BRIGHT RED rather easily. I've been frequently teased about it, it seems like a more embarrassing than charming thing.

Ok, burning (*ahem*) question of the moment:

Blushing threads that end up making one blush: classic or dud?

Tenacious Dee (Dee the Lurker), Sunday, 30 November 2003 02:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Blshing is possibly the most heartbreakingly cute thing ever, next, possibly, to freckles (a girl with freckles that blushes = I am in love, dimples optional but helpful).

Matt (Matt), Sunday, 30 November 2003 02:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I *thought* I didn't, but then a few months ago back Mom implied that I had a crush on a guy I was friends with and when I asked "Why do you think that?" she said "Every time his name came up last year you blushed."

Maria (Maria), Sunday, 30 November 2003 03:10 (twenty-two years ago)

not generally.

However, the very drunk wife of a friend accosted me at a party a couple of months back with some of her girlfriends (all urban planning students), and proceeded to tell me loudly that I was the kind of guy that made their panties wet because I was in a band and had studied transportation planning in Montreal (though I've been there, I don't remember any transportation studying). I apparently blushed quite visibly at this point, and was in fact made rather uncomfortable by the unexpected attention.

Pay no attention to the horny grad students....
