I'm vaguely anxious about something but I'm not sure exactly what. Also my back hurts -- the upper part, below the neck and between the shoulder blades.

I've never heard that one - I like "Serpent in Quicksilver" and "Pavilion of Dreams", which are the only ones I own. I think I'm about to crash - hopefully when you do get to sleep you can get enough rest to feel clear about everything.

Heck, it's only 3:30 am CST. This is only like an hour past my bedtime! School-nite bedtime anyway.

But yeah, my $13 Icehouse 30-pack and fantasy baseball research and this Howlin' Wolf record are keeping me going right now. I'm actually trying to figure out what to listen to next. I keep hearing the clarion call of my old Fleetwood Mac lps even as Mr. Burnett sings of black cats and so forth..

It's Friday night. My first week back at the office after two weeks off (paternity leave). I work the vampire shift (8pm to 8am) here as a News Desk Editor at the T__E News Desk. In a nutshell, I act as a liaison between the the editorial staff and the ma gazine's network of correspondents in the field (around the globe). It's only 4:42 AM.....still a few hours to go. Currently playing Queen's "The Prophet's Song" at an ill-advised volume. It's fucking freezing in this office.

i was up until 5:30 last night watching TV. I watched "Rules of Attraction" until "Glory" came on, both on seperate HBO channels. "Glory" ended at 5am and then i had a smoke and waited a little while longer to fall asleep. i havent been able to sleep since i quit my job because whereas my job used to exhaust me, now nothing does.

ten months pass...

Revive for spring 2005. It's 3:30 something am and I can't sleep. Made worse because I have been working steadily (for a thesis deadline) for the past several days and have another 4 days' straight work to do, including all day tomorrow at the library. It'll be fucked now!

Anyone else can't sleep? I'm sure I shouldn't be on the internet but whatever, my mind was driving me nuts in the bed, finding weird shapes and fluttery movements at the edge of my vision etc. and finally the adrenalin was too much and I had to scream or get up and move around.

I have nights, ahead, of sleepless work; you have my undying sympathy and other stuff. I should, really, be working, tonight, but, unfortunately, it hasn't reached the stage, where I only have just enough time, to do everything, yet.

I am at my parents, actually, not out, having fun, but I had some fun, here.

I don't know why I am awake.

Thanks RJG! I'm not doing work now either. I worked all day and then had a massive meal and three glasses of wine (which were some fun) and I know I'm mostly awake because of my overactive imagination, plus I saw an add for Ring 2 on TV tonight and given how much the first movie freaked me out, couldn't stop thinking about it in the dark blue light of the bedroom. why won't you sleep? etc, ugh

I have reserved a book for tomorrow's library-going called "Error, Misuse, Failure." We shall see.
