Di Stefano and Cruyff are normally the names bandied about after Pele and Maradona. Personally, Zidane is the best player I've seen, but I've only been watching football for about 13 years.

I'm just wondering bcz I've never seen a game by either. But yeah, winning the seria A was quite an achievement.

xxpost - Neil Grayson was the archetypal honest footballer - no airs and graces, normal guy, always gave his best, never quit and was an excellent footballer in the lower reaches. A man who knew his dreams outstipped his reality, but toiled in that reality with honour and selflessness.

There are so many supposedly great players I've never actually seen play beyond the odd clip - Platini, Beckenbauer, Best, Cruyff, Pele - Maradona was among the earliest I remember seeing play when he was at his peak.
