jed_ (jed), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:30 (twenty years ago) link

What does amour mean?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:32 (twenty years ago) link

Anyway, 30 minutes till the first kick out... will they be stupid enough to evict Kitten?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:32 (twenty years ago) link

"Its like the Latin languages, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese... nah, not French. That's j'adore."

"Oooh, I never knew that"

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:33 (twenty years ago) link

How does this eviction work - do the housemates have to pick or is it C4?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:33 (twenty years ago) link

Everything Federico said about Geordie women in last year's BB has come true...

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:34 (twenty years ago) link

jesus that episode has put me right off sex.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:44 (twenty years ago) link

perhaps it stirred up bad memories

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:44 (twenty years ago) link

Did you have a bald electoclash homosexual copping an eyeful as well?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:51 (twenty years ago) link

I hope not but I hear with "THEM" you can never be sure.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:55 (twenty years ago) link

you don't mean geordies.

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 4 June 2004 19:59 (twenty years ago) link

victor: "this is TV history... this is TV history!"

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 4 June 2004 20:04 (twenty years ago) link

"This is for all the aristocrats!"

Kitten Pinder's Big Brother stay: 28.05.04 - 04.05.04

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 4 June 2004 20:09 (twenty years ago) link

I liked her.

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 4 June 2004 20:10 (twenty years ago) link

davina - your antipathy is showing, tuck it in.

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 4 June 2004 20:16 (twenty years ago) link

underwhelming.

jed_ (jed), Friday, 4 June 2004 20:31 (twenty years ago) link

Weird how Davina visibly warmed to Kitten over the course of that interview. I reckon she would probably have walked if she hadn't been evicted, but that squatter bit was fantastic - Kitten takes the bullet for the other housemates!

Do they get a new housemate now?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 4 June 2004 20:36 (twenty years ago) link

:-(

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Saturday, 5 June 2004 07:11 (twenty years ago) link

my reputation is saved. hurrah.

'reputation'. ha.

g-kit (g-kit), Saturday, 5 June 2004 07:59 (twenty years ago) link

i'm GLAD SHE WENT, stuff her, lets get on with the gameshow.

also i'm pretty certain michelle was taking the piss with the "l'amour" bit, you can tell if you grew up in the north east, there's a certain inflexion in the voice that's almost undetectable...

also i do feel a bit sorry for poor little stuart, i'm betting he's never met a girl like michelle before...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Saturday, 5 June 2004 10:21 (twenty years ago) link

omg! stuart is regretting this bigtime and who can blame him? as you said he probably hasn't met a girl like michelle before but they seem ill suited on every level. In addition to this Michelle seems like a bit of a mentalist and Stuart has regressed to the body language and speech capacities of a frightened 8 year old!

http://bigbrother.channel4.com/bigbrother/media/news/09/0130_fatalattraction_2.jpg

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 5 June 2004 10:29 (twenty years ago) link

stuart is either an idiot or a genius.

don (don), Saturday, 5 June 2004 10:31 (twenty years ago) link

she's quite a nice mentalist though.

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 5 June 2004 10:45 (twenty years ago) link

Michelle is awful... the way she was kissing him... yuk!!

Charles Dexter (Holey), Saturday, 5 June 2004 11:15 (twenty years ago) link

My interest in this has plummeted post-Kitten. I expect it'll perk up once a few more people have gone though, or if something really humiliating happens to Stuart and/or Victor.

The Lex (The Lex), Saturday, 5 June 2004 12:02 (twenty years ago) link

Kitten was the most tedious human being I've ever met.

Still, the middle class kids seemed to like her. Now you'll have to go back to sneering at the proles.

noodle vague (noodle vague), Saturday, 5 June 2004 12:13 (twenty years ago) link

Presumably that's cos she was a nice private-school middle-class girl from one of the middle-class bits of Yorkshire.

caitlin (caitlin), Saturday, 5 June 2004 12:30 (twenty years ago) link

You've met Kitten, noodle? When, in what circumstances?

Patrick Kinghorn, Saturday, 5 June 2004 12:38 (twenty years ago) link

Kitten is a SELL-OUT.

Enrique (Enrique), Saturday, 5 June 2004 13:15 (twenty years ago) link

Presumably that's cos she was a nice private-school middle-class girl from one of the middle-class bits of Yorkshire.

What, Hull?

Charles Dexter (Holey), Saturday, 5 June 2004 16:41 (twenty years ago) link

as a yorkshire man i can confirm that people from hull turn thgere noses up more than people from harrogate or york.

it's the old fishing industries - geezers went out onto the seas with risk of their lives and were paid very adequately for that risk. the consequence of that was well keps and slightly snobbish offspring.

matthew james (matthew james), Saturday, 5 June 2004 16:50 (twenty years ago) link

I thought she was from Beverley?

caitlin (caitlin), Saturday, 5 June 2004 16:57 (twenty years ago) link

Beverley's only a few miles outside... it's nicer, but still imbued with Hullness.

Charles Dexter (Holey), Saturday, 5 June 2004 17:09 (twenty years ago) link

dizzee rascal!!!!

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 5 June 2004 19:19 (twenty years ago) link

fucking HULL!!!!

Lynskey (Lynskey), Saturday, 5 June 2004 19:48 (twenty years ago) link

Yeah, Kitten was allegedly born in Beverley. I don't know anybody in Hull who considers Beverley anything other than a foreign country.

I've not met K-10 other than via the telly. I consider my relationship to BB housemates close enough to describe that as met.

She was a monotone-voiced moron. Would a fan like to explain in what way she exceeded that estimate?

noodle vague (noodle vague), Saturday, 5 June 2004 20:35 (twenty years ago) link

Marco's onscreen vomiting = did we REALLY need to say that?

Stuart's overconfidence in his own intelligence is his downfall once again... ha ha.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 5 June 2004 20:41 (twenty years ago) link

There seems to be a freakishly large number of housemates with East Yorkshire connections this year - didn't Marco study in Hull or something?

(personally, I was all for the live vomiting)

caitlin (caitlin), Saturday, 5 June 2004 20:49 (twenty years ago) link

Beverley is posh Hull. I assume my friend from there who was a teen tennis champion and whose father was a licensing lawyer was typical.

Posh or poor, everyone I've ever met from Hull has been a total caner. I wonder which contestant is wishing the most for a nice big spliff?

suzy (suzy), Saturday, 5 June 2004 20:56 (twenty years ago) link

id say dan or possibly the transsexual one.

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 5 June 2004 21:00 (twenty years ago) link

Surely it would be Mr Roll Deep himself, Victor?

suzy (suzy), Saturday, 5 June 2004 21:03 (twenty years ago) link

5 quid says Victor is removed from the house before his time for being a psycho hose beast.

noodle vague (noodle vague), Saturday, 5 June 2004 21:08 (twenty years ago) link

And for those of you thinking that Kitten had 'principles' and was against The Sun and the rest of the Murdoch papers, here's her 'exclusive' interview in this week's News of the World.

Also: The "live" show goes out on a 15-minute delay to allow bosses to decide what cannot be broadcast and run footage from a different camera.

At the end of the first week we can reveal the other shock moments that ended up on the cutting room floor:

Hairdresser Daniel boasting he had been in a gay porn film while underage.

Vanessa telling housemates she had been sexually abused and that an ex-boyfriend was found murdered in a church.

Emma saying her last boyfriend was a drug-dealing pimp.

Shocking! A drug-dealing pimp!

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Saturday, 5 June 2004 23:26 (twenty years ago) link

http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/images/kit_02.jpg

!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please tell me this is Photoshopped!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Saturday, 5 June 2004 23:29 (twenty years ago) link

I've never seen anyone actually turn green before. I now feel a bit more fulfilled, thanks to Big Brother. :-)

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Sunday, 6 June 2004 06:59 (twenty years ago) link

Beverley is posh Hull

Beverley looks pretty pleasant, but is chock full of squaddies spoiling for a fight. It's like Colchester with deeper vowels. Oddly enough, I once got pissed with Clint Boon in Beverley. I had other reasons for being there, but that's how it wound up.

Matt (Matt), Sunday, 6 June 2004 07:29 (twenty years ago) link

I used to think the only reason Beverley existed was to give me somewhere different to get pissed in on a Saturday.

noodle vague (noodle vague), Sunday, 6 June 2004 07:52 (twenty years ago) link

Look, a whole town can't be called 'posh'. I mean, I'm from Cambridge, and, erm, I'm street: I quite frequently need to boil a kettle for a bath.

Enrique (Enrique), Sunday, 6 June 2004 10:28 (twenty years ago) link

Is it Cambridge or Oxford where the university appears to be some great joke on the inhabitants of the town: ie, the place consists of 20 council estates and a bunch of rich students?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Sunday, 6 June 2004 10:32 (twenty years ago) link

Sounds like Ormskirk. Student population = a third of us all. The drop in populace each summer is really noticable and we've more shit bar per square inch than we should have.

VICTOR MUST GO.

Lynskey (Lynskey), Sunday, 6 June 2004 10:37 (twenty years ago) link

Vanessa did rather pointedly say she didn't want to piss off her mother. Who one might presume to approve of footballers and racing drivers.

suzy (suzy), Thursday, 10 June 2004 21:41 (twenty years ago) link

Fair point N, but I think there's an element of "I WILL NOT LOSE CONTROL!" about Vanessa, like she's terrified of what will actually happen if she does. Although I paid next to no attention to her in the first week, admittedly.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 10 June 2004 21:44 (twenty years ago) link

N, i agree with you about Dan and Vanessa - i couldnt blame them either- but there is something about Vanessa that so mean spirited and almost mechanical.

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 10 June 2004 21:46 (twenty years ago) link

I empathise with her self-control-freakery.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 10 June 2004 21:51 (twenty years ago) link

I found Ahmed's crying session in the snug sorta touching. He seemed really upset as he tried to bury his head to sob in private. I don't know how he managed to keep himself from telling Emma to fuck off when she came in and did her preachy bit.

penelope_111, Thursday, 10 June 2004 21:53 (twenty years ago) link

was she preaching? i rather like her at times.

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 10 June 2004 21:55 (twenty years ago) link

I thought she was a bit, her tone was pretty unsympathetic and I dunno, I just thought she intruded where she wasn't wanted.

penelope_111, Thursday, 10 June 2004 21:58 (twenty years ago) link

She was just trying. She left as soon as he said he'd rather be alone. Even if you don't want to talk to anyone in such situations, it's nice to know that someone cared enough to come and show their face.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 10 June 2004 22:02 (twenty years ago) link

Didn't you feel she was just being a bit nosey and wanted to score a few brownie points? She just didn't come across as sincere to me.

penelope_111, Thursday, 10 June 2004 22:05 (twenty years ago) link

You cynic.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 10 June 2004 22:07 (twenty years ago) link

Shell has sex appeal?

Jason now scares me more than Victor. Horrible.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 10 June 2004 22:29 (twenty years ago) link

The sad thing is I fear Vanessa will ultimately show Jason her tits.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 10 June 2004 22:31 (twenty years ago) link

I've just realised what it reminded me of - Lily Savage being in on a CCTV gotcha-type gag, where she went into Terry Christian's dressing room on The Word and asked him to 'show us yer plums'.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 10 June 2004 22:33 (twenty years ago) link

i agree with ally about jason scariness.

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 10 June 2004 22:34 (twenty years ago) link

There was something in one of the tabloids about how his friend says he hasn't had a proper relationship for years and doesn't know how to ask women out because all he knows is them approaching him for sex.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 10 June 2004 22:41 (twenty years ago) link

jason w/ vanessa was weird.

suzy should lay off shell.

shell should not take her top off.

emma w/ ahmed was funny--spain, italy, greece. el mambo?!

vanessa's self-control is admirable.

jason reminds me of a friend of mine, at times, but, at other times, he is a fanny.

dan is funny but says wrong things.

victor is v. funny but still a bit bad.

ahmed shouldn't wear sunglasses so much of the time--will he wear them, if he is in the no-natural-light bedsit?

emma should ________.

nadia shouldn't wear thongs and should be quieter.

michelle's "tell me" (re: vanessa's boobies) was v. bad.

stuart has funny ears.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 11 June 2004 01:01 (twenty years ago) link

I think that it may be because Jason is a Jungle Cat!

Davel (Davel), Friday, 11 June 2004 06:54 (twenty years ago) link

How has it taken so long to occur to me that Victor = David Brent if he'd grown up in Hackney?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 11 June 2004 06:58 (twenty years ago) link

Jason should be up on a charge of sexual harrassment.

Vanessa should shut up and leave already.

Shell? she still annoys the dbejeesus out of me

I'm re-assessing my liking of Dan, his schtick is getting tired.

Emma rocks

Michelle may be about to crack up, I worry about her

Victor? Schmictor

Ahmed = acting - he wasn't crying then, no way.

Stu is endearing himself to me, how he talks about Michelle if she leaves will seal his fate with me.

Nadia is too noisy and twee, but the boys are wrongg to be so nasty about her

chris (chris), Friday, 11 June 2004 07:43 (twenty years ago) link

Funnily enough, I'm sorta warming to Stu a bit also.

penelope_111, Friday, 11 June 2004 07:52 (twenty years ago) link

emma's poem on bblb was a surprise. proper sentences.

and jason fighting to keep his shorts ON, who'd've thought...

'who said life was fair?'

koogs (koogs), Friday, 11 June 2004 07:53 (twenty years ago) link

I have a funny feeling I'd be behaving exactly like Dan if I was in the house, funhater that I am. I still hate Vanessa though.

Ricardo (RickyT), Friday, 11 June 2004 07:56 (twenty years ago) link

"How has it taken so long to occur to me that Victor = David Brent if he'd grown up in Hackney? "

this is the most otm thing ever

don (don), Friday, 11 June 2004 07:58 (twenty years ago) link

"i'm the funniest guy you'll ever work for, innit?"

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 11 June 2004 08:39 (twenty years ago) link

I've been trying to work out who he reminded me of - MDC TFOTM

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 11 June 2004 08:40 (twenty years ago) link

Last night was like a fucking JG Ballard script. Jason is darkside.

Enrique (Enrique), Friday, 11 June 2004 08:41 (twenty years ago) link

MattDC is way way way OTM.

Enrique (Enrique), Friday, 11 June 2004 08:44 (twenty years ago) link

meg said that vanessa was saying she has "issues with her body"

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 11 June 2004 08:55 (twenty years ago) link

I'm warming to Stuart too, he's very nice.

jed_ (jed), Friday, 11 June 2004 10:33 (twenty years ago) link

Oh come on!

Enrique (Enrique), Friday, 11 June 2004 10:38 (twenty years ago) link

Stuart=Chris Martin

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 11 June 2004 10:39 (twenty years ago) link

Chris Martin = very nice also.

jed_ (jed), Friday, 11 June 2004 10:44 (twenty years ago) link

i said i wasn't going to watch any more, but i did last night because i'd fallen asleep on the couch and woken up when it was on. it was FUCKING GRUESOME... HOW ARE YOU WATCHING THIS STUFF FOR PLEASURE!?

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Friday, 11 June 2004 10:47 (twenty years ago) link

It was pretty intense, I must say. Michelle squirting ?conditioner? on her tits was some sort of TV step-change.

Enrique (Enrique), Friday, 11 June 2004 10:49 (twenty years ago) link

Dan has to win for the line (when emma & victor were arguing) 'you can't interupt a gangster when he's taking a shit!' Classic.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 June 2004 10:53 (twenty years ago) link

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enrique (Enrique), Friday, 11 June 2004 10:54 (twenty years ago) link

dan and that blonde girl that got sexually assaulted are the only people in there who are even vaguely tolerable. i dunno about anyone else, but i'd end up laughing if i was in a house w/ whatsherface who used to be a bloke, especially if she wore that little clothing.

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Friday, 11 June 2004 11:00 (twenty years ago) link

It appears that Stuart is the Holy Moly Big Brother mole>. WTF?

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Friday, 11 June 2004 11:17 (twenty years ago) link

I can't see it, what is it?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 June 2004 11:23 (twenty years ago) link

It's the group on the sofas just before the first nominations. You can hear Stuart say, rather loudly, 'HOLY MOLY', just before he goes to the diary room.

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Friday, 11 June 2004 11:28 (twenty years ago) link

does that make him ethe actual real mole then?

chris (chris), Friday, 11 June 2004 11:28 (twenty years ago) link

is there a mole? does the mole have to have moles?

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 11 June 2004 11:29 (twenty years ago) link

hmmmmmmmmm, co-incidence, or not?

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 11 June 2004 11:29 (twenty years ago) link

Not!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 June 2004 11:30 (twenty years ago) link

Holy Moly is a very private list - it's actually mostly editors and club promoters and queens and the like who got bored with Popbitch being invaded by students and newbies, so Stuart is unfortunately highly unlikely to have a log-in for it. The gossip is that it's one of the site's old-timers (and a gay guy) so I reckon it's Dan.

suzy (suzy), Friday, 11 June 2004 11:40 (twenty years ago) link

nah that sounds more like Ahmed, oh, wait.

chris (chris), Friday, 11 June 2004 11:42 (twenty years ago) link

What? i didn't realise there was a mole wtf?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 June 2004 11:43 (twenty years ago) link

queens and the like who got bored with [thing] being invaded by students and newbies

hahaha, holymoly = h*ppy r*b*ts (this is a very small in-joke, depending on who is reading)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 11 June 2004 12:02 (twenty years ago) link

hahaha no longer teh face folded if it had it in for students...

Enrique (Enrique), Friday, 11 June 2004 12:05 (twenty years ago) link

Thoughts on the fake eviction?

CLASSIC OR CLASSIC?!

Those two girls are going to give us so much entertainment in there these next few days. Highlights -

Emma doing laps of the room
Emma's tits falling out about 6 times in her excitement
Michelle showing intelligence and a cool head
Michelle explaining what BB meant on the laminate by repeating the sentence word for word!
Michelle kissing the screen when Stu appeared. "He's got a tear for me!" Pure melodrama.
