as a yorkshire man i can confirm that people from hull turn thgere noses up more than people from harrogate or york.

it's the old fishing industries - geezers went out onto the seas with risk of their lives and were paid very adequately for that risk. the consequence of that was well keps and slightly snobbish offspring.

Beverley looks pretty pleasant, but is chock full of squaddies spoiling for a fight. It's like Colchester with deeper vowels. Oddly enough, I once got pissed with Clint Boon in Beverley. I had other reasons for being there, but that's how it wound up.
