Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 1 July 2004 11:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Ally might be coming, but he hasn't properly decided yet.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 1 July 2004 11:16 (twenty-one years ago)

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 1 July 2004 11:23 (twenty-one years ago)

i'll miss you by a day in london, arrrgh. will you be in scotchland the previous weekend?

lauren (laurenp), Thursday, 1 July 2004 11:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Indeed I will. That's Winchester Weekend, that is.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 1 July 2004 11:30 (twenty-one years ago)

ihttp://www.skill-propaganda.com/17.7.04flyer.jpg

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Thursday, 1 July 2004 11:44 (twenty-one years ago)

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Thursday, 1 July 2004 11:47 (twenty-one years ago)

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 1 July 2004 11:48 (twenty-one years ago)

mmm, I'm home alone all weekend, so yeah, bring it on. It'll be a nice break from the civ3 marathon I was planning.

(do you need a place to kip btw?)

chris (chris), Thursday, 1 July 2004 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

i know, isn't it? makes me really wanna go even more! biv devoe and sebastian innit...

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Thursday, 1 July 2004 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

That looks like it might be rather good, Mr No4.

Ricardo (RickyT), Thursday, 1 July 2004 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

hello dear, i'll be about :)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 1 July 2004 12:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Chris - quite likely, and you are nice and handy for Stansted :)

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 1 July 2004 12:07 (twenty-one years ago)

poo :0(

I'll be in chester with my sis, probably having huge arguements, with her bursting into tears at least once over her imminent departure to Dallas (even though it's their decision to go..)

Vicky (Vicky), Thursday, 1 July 2004 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm in bluddy Lincoln for a work meeting that day but back in KingX by 6ish with a raging thirst.

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 1 July 2004 12:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Would like to join, yes.

I am even handier than Cabbage for STN, but far less so for that London. You are welcome to stay if you like though.

Mooro (Mooro), Thursday, 1 July 2004 13:07 (twenty-one years ago)

OK, right, if ILX is going dark from 3rd to 17th July, we should either decide on a time/place now or make sure everyone who wants to come has somebody else's phone number. If you want me to txt you or something write to lucyalder at google's nice new email service.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 1 July 2004 14:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Yo missus, the boy and I will be about that weekend, seeing the masters of twee at Somerset House Saturday night though. Is yr mobile number the same as yonks ago?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 1 July 2004 14:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Yep, same number, same phone. Are they playing that night? Pfft. Not sure I fancy it really. Are there tickets left?

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 1 July 2004 14:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Sold out I think. Mebbe some left for Sunday. Anyway, Sat daytime (may be S*n*st*r picnic thingy) or Sunday, you takes yer pick.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 1 July 2004 14:52 (twenty-one years ago)

saturday daytime is the respect festival in victoria park!

http://www.london.gov.uk/respect/respect-festival.htm

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 1 July 2004 14:55 (twenty-one years ago)

But can we picnic?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 1 July 2004 14:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Respect festival!! I've been looking forward to that. Good food apparently

chris (chris), Thursday, 1 July 2004 15:00 (twenty-one years ago)

i'll only go to Respect if Roachford is playing (acoustic)

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 1 July 2004 15:01 (twenty-one years ago)

or Shadowless. or Jaimeson.

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 1 July 2004 15:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Saturday daytime might be a Woking pre-season friendly. I'm kind of annoyed at the bad timing of my trip - I want to go to a pub and have fun and not have to potentially sit next to a recorder playing idiot.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 1 July 2004 15:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Sunday afternoon pubbing? Although recorders are not RESPECTable, I'd have thought.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 1 July 2004 15:04 (twenty-one years ago)

is mark going too? (sorry Mark)

chris (chris), Thursday, 1 July 2004 15:06 (twenty-one years ago)

http://my.calendars.net/ilxfap

it's on the calendar, so further details can be posted when worked out innit :)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 1 July 2004 15:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Cabbage beat me to it ! :(

Mooro (Mooro), Thursday, 1 July 2004 15:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Cheers Steve. If I am going to the footie, I won't be able to get up to London until 7 or 8. I was going to suggest a pub close to Somerset House, but seeing as a lot of places round there are likely to be closed and that by the time I get there people might be wanting to go in to the show, a pub anywhere for people not going would be fine.

The other thing is Sunday afternoon bouzing, as suggested by Liz, which strikes me as a very fine idea, particularly if combined with a big roast dinner. Any ideas?

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 2 July 2004 07:49 (twenty-one years ago)

how were the Calthorpe Arms Sunday roasts everyone had when Felicity was over?

stevem (blueski), Friday, 2 July 2004 07:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Mine was tasty good, and the Calthorpe's a damn good pub.

Ricardo (RickyT), Friday, 2 July 2004 08:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Sounds good to me. Haha the N London massive strike again.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 2 July 2004 08:18 (twenty-one years ago)

i don't think of it as north but i guess it is

stevem (blueski), Friday, 2 July 2004 08:21 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought it was fairly central. Isn't it WC1?

My New Identity (kate), Friday, 2 July 2004 08:22 (twenty-one years ago)

EC1 surely

stevem (blueski), Friday, 2 July 2004 08:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Errr... you're right. Forgot what side of Grays Inn Road it was.

My New Identity (kate), Friday, 2 July 2004 08:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 2 July 2004 08:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 16 July 2004 12:25 (twenty-one years ago)

http://www.londontown.com/LondonInformation/Bars_and_Clubs/Kings_Arms/a19a/

and for people who aren't going to see B+S at somerset house tomrrow :(

ken c (ken c), Friday, 16 July 2004 12:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Are you talking aboutthis street? Man, that's about 500 yards from my work! Why can't it be tonight?

Ma$onic Boom (kate), Friday, 16 July 2004 12:27 (twenty-one years ago)

because the main reason for the FAP is in Surrey tonight and not at the pub.

google eh? who'd a thunk it

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 16 July 2004 12:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm too ill to go to the pub (hang on where was I at lunchtime again eh ah well), so a QNI with SCHOOL OF ROCK for me!

Sarah (starry), Friday, 16 July 2004 13:27 (twenty-one years ago)

What are the people who are going to see B&S doing?

Dave B (daveb), Friday, 16 July 2004 13:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Watching a band who used to be quite fun but aren't any more?

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Friday, 16 July 2004 13:34 (twenty-one years ago)

they are all serious and stuff nowadays

ken c (ken c), Friday, 16 July 2004 13:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Who is the recorder playing idiot? Is it your dad? There used to be a bloke at Gresley Rovers who took a bell, until someone threatened to shove it up his arse.

I've already seen Schoolly D, back in the block party era. He was supporting Big Audio Dynamite and people spat at him.

Are people going to be there early doors?

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 16 July 2004 13:50 (twenty-one years ago)

OK, i am going to respect tomorrow afternoon, probably from about twoish. then i am going to the lyceum tavernfor sixish to meet mr bolton (amongst others) and give him his ticket. then we can go over to somerset house and have a lovely time. if anyone would like to join me at any point i imagine anyone who would has my mobile number :)

(sorry for nicking yr thread lucy)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 16 July 2004 14:56 (twenty-one years ago)

haha meeting carsmile at a festival = impossible. (although same goes to me if you're the dirty vicar! oops)

ken c (ken c), Friday, 16 July 2004 14:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Hello. If you would like to see me and think I would like to see you (clue: likely) then please come to these places at these times -

Saturday evening: http://www.fancyapint.com/main_site/thepubs/pub1006.htm

Sunday around 1pm: http://www.fancyapint.com/main_site/thepubs/pub342.htm

I was thinking I would be seeing Woking vs. Crystal Palace tomorrow, but dad has to go to some work sports day thing in Barnes and now I'm not actually sure that matches is happening tomorrow anyway, so I will probably go to the Wetlands Centre with Mum and my sister. Mark, are you reading this? If we are in that neck of the woods, travelling to FAP ensemble is a possibility...

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 16 July 2004 18:11 (twenty-one years ago)

On Sunday it's the London Italian Festival on Warner St, not more than 5 minutes from the Calthorpe arms, They have an excellent raffle and bottle stall and barbecued italian sausages and other tasties. Laterin the afternoon they have the Sagra parade lots of catholics dressed up as saints and god and stuff on floats and nuns singing ave maria.

Ed (dali), Friday, 16 July 2004 18:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Mooro (Mooro), Monday, 19 July 2004 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

and the £1.88 price tag per plastic cup may well explain how they got away with charging an absolutely outrageous SEVEN POUNDS for two pints...

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Monday, 19 July 2004 11:29 (twenty-one years ago)

i know, when she told me the price it felt as if she had just punched me in the face.

and then i of course queued up for another punch in the face.

and the next morning my head felt like i've been punched in the face repeatedly.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 19 July 2004 11:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Small bottles of beer were £3.50 each too, without a glass.

Mooro (Mooro), Monday, 19 July 2004 11:37 (twenty-one years ago)

one pint glasses are £3.50 too.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 19 July 2004 11:45 (twenty-one years ago)

All that extortionate beer money is filling Treasury coffers right this minute, and will hopefully be flooding into the NHS to allow it to be fully equipped for Ken C's liver failure a few years down the line. Think of it as an investment.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 19 July 2004 12:28 (twenty-one years ago)

All that extortionate beer money is filling Treasury coffers right this minute, and will hopefully be flooding into the NHS to allow it to be fully equipped for Ken C's liver failure a few years down the line. Think of it as an investment.
