Right, so Michelle's popularity rating is plunging the more she gets it off wid Stu, and now they have, its all gone shag crazy over there.

(Umm, why exactly is she now unpop, while stu's odds have remained constant? Oh the nasty girl is subjecting him to all that horrib. sex poor soul. Hey if he didn't actually care for her, he'd have done the daft marriage thingy!)

Anyroad up, it's not all about them! (is it?)

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 22 July 2004 06:21 (twenty-one years ago)

infuriatingly last night's live coverage (the first i've seen in about 2 weeks) was the aftermath of a big flareup between shell and victor. w'happen?

the rest of it seemed to be s&m recreating yoko ono's bag art from the 1960s. oh um.

koogs (koogs), Thursday, 22 July 2004 07:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I liked it when Shell found out that Jason & Victor were nasty and told the others.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 22 July 2004 07:24 (twenty-one years ago)

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 22 July 2004 07:25 (twenty-one years ago)

You would think that Victor & Jason would start distancing themselves from each other as if one of them goes on Friday the other will be lost. Victor is more paly with the rest but Jason isn't!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 22 July 2004 07:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I am curiously upset about the wedding reception being a flop.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 22 July 2004 07:30 (twenty-one years ago)

How rubbish was their stag do?

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 22 July 2004 07:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Well yes, that was depressing too, but the bride refusing to dance with the groom is a real downer.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 22 July 2004 07:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Dude, I wouldn't be dancing with that bubble butt, wannabe gangsta either!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 22 July 2004 07:38 (twenty-one years ago)

It's not that I blame her. I just find this whole thing upsetting.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 22 July 2004 07:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Victor is more paly with the rest but Jason isn't!

Which is part of the reason why Jason will be going out on Friday and Victor won't. I'd say that Victor's approach will change completely once Jason leaves.

I was amused by the stag party (I haven't seen the wedding reception). I couldn't help thinking that if Jason wasn't there, everyone would have had a much better time. He's like a black hole. Fun just gets sucked into him.

Also I think it might be hard for Shell to forget the image of Victor shouting 'get your tits out for the lads' while Jason stands around practically drooling. I wouldn't stay in the room with them, never mind dance with either of them.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Thursday, 22 July 2004 07:42 (twenty-one years ago)

When Jason said “That was a masterstroke, bronzing my backside last night.” the subtitlers got confused by his accent and instead put up “That was a masterstroke, prawns in my backside last night.”

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 22 July 2004 07:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh man, I love subtitlers.

alix (alix), Thursday, 22 July 2004 08:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Victor's odds currently range between 11/2 and 12/1. That's some of the widest variation I've seen in any market for ages.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 22 July 2004 08:26 (twenty-one years ago)

nobody has still answered what happened between shell and vic last night, does nobody know ??

Ste (Fuzzy), Thursday, 22 July 2004 08:57 (twenty-one years ago)

She refused to do the 'first dance' with him because she heard him slagging her off the night before, and appears also to have called him a cunt in the ensuing discussion. The slagging was news to all the other housemates until this point, but not the viewers obv. However later she came out and chatted to him and he's now spilt the JC strategy to her like a bit of a dumbfuck.

suzy (suzy), Thursday, 22 July 2004 09:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I refuse to believe Shell knows the meaning of the word 'cunt'.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 July 2004 09:18 (twenty-one years ago)

But she's a proper swearymouth girl! God, boys are so easily fooled by blondeness.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 22 July 2004 09:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Fooled by posh accents too.

The Lex (The Lex), Thursday, 22 July 2004 09:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Did anyone notice how much her ears stuck out when her hair was up last nite?

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 22 July 2004 09:21 (twenty-one years ago)

http://habidabad.com/images/gelfling_2.JPG

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 22 July 2004 09:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Hahahahaha! So v otm!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 22 July 2004 09:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Dude, Matt, HELLO? They know how to cuss in Glasgow, even the posh students. I think she went on a bit of a cunting spree about Ahmed too.

suzy (suzy), Thursday, 22 July 2004 09:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Surely not you f@#king c#unting c#nt?!!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 22 July 2004 09:25 (twenty-one years ago)

She ought to p1ss on his f#cking face.

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 22 July 2004 09:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Oops just re-read my post, I meant that surely Shell didn't say that, not meant as Suzy you are..! Phew, sorry lady!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 22 July 2004 09:30 (twenty-one years ago)

I was about to say! I'd love to ehar Suzy's response if someone really called her that :)

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 22 July 2004 09:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I guess if I was gonna insult someone like that, I'd take the '#'s out!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 22 July 2004 09:55 (twenty-one years ago)

so WTF happened? all i can find on DS and ch4 is that shell thought victor was being mean about her and wanted to talk about it.

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Thursday, 22 July 2004 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh man, I love subtitlers.

We love you too.

What's this thread about?

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Thursday, 22 July 2004 11:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Did you click on the DS link at the top of this thread, Alan?

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 22 July 2004 11:09 (twenty-one years ago)

i did and wanted to know what prompted shell. i think i have it now at http://bigbrother.channel4.com/bigbrother/news/newsstory.jsp?id=6522

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Thursday, 22 July 2004 11:10 (twenty-one years ago)

michelle is deranged. did anyone see that part where stuart was cooking with shell and michelle was like "shell why are you taking my boyfriend howay to cuke all the time???"

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 22 July 2004 11:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah - they should that on last night's programme, Alan.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 22 July 2004 11:12 (twenty-one years ago)

They haven't actually shown Shell & Victor having an argument or the wedding. That will be on tonight's show!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 22 July 2004 11:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I can understand Michelle being jealous when Shell is around. She's very pretty and more importantly, has things in common with Stuart that Michelle doesn't.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 22 July 2004 11:14 (twenty-one years ago)

posh wetness?

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 22 July 2004 11:15 (twenty-one years ago)

No, long, blonde hair innit!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 22 July 2004 11:16 (twenty-one years ago)

A basic grasp of the English language.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 22 July 2004 11:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Michelle has a better grasp of English than Stu does. In terms of oral communication, he's about the most inarticulate bloke I can think of. Finish a f#cking sentence, pretty boy!

zebedee (zebedee), Thursday, 22 July 2004 11:40 (twenty-one years ago)

there was a bit on last night's live broadcast where Stu was trying to explain the parallels between Winston & Julia in '1984' and him and Michelle in the house. Trying and failing badly.

zebedee (zebedee), Thursday, 22 July 2004 11:42 (twenty-one years ago)

leave stu alone.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 22 July 2004 12:59 (twenty-one years ago)

that's to zebedee, not michelle.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 22 July 2004 13:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I was all for Michelle, but maybe she x-ssed the line. I hate the snobbery of TH and Jason when they say M isn't good enough for self-described 'cleverest man in Britain' Stu, because she is much smarter than he is.

Enriquqe (Enrique), Thursday, 22 July 2004 13:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd forgotten what a twat he appeared on the introduction parts. He is Chris Martin, to the letter.

Ronan (Ronan), Thursday, 22 July 2004 13:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I wish I could belong to TEAM HANDSOME.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 22 July 2004 13:08 (twenty-one years ago)

They really aren't all that though. Did you see them on BBLB?

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 22 July 2004 14:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, Stuart is about a billion times better looking than the others.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 22 July 2004 14:37 (twenty-one years ago)

You're a fucking cunt, but I'm dancing with you anyway.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 22 July 2004 20:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Jesus, that was horrible. I take back what I said - Shell might win now.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 22 July 2004 20:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I think I may have dreamt this thing about Michelle slagging off the StuCock. I thought I heard it on 5Live's round up of the papers, but it doesn't seem to be in the Sun or the Record.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 08:22 (twenty-one years ago)

cool AND hot pinX0r: win-win

ENRQ (Enrique), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 08:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I was trying to work out how you'd play combine harvester on a recorder - I think it has a span of 9 notes, which would mean you'd have to start on top D to fit it all in. And Shell started it on top C, hence the rubbish melody around the low notes. If they'd failed them it would have been pretty harsh.

"I think I'll just go and check on Stu the jacket potatoes"

Madchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 08:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Apparently they've cooled on the idea of the pub quiz and are just going to have the person with the least votes come Wednesday evicted. On this basis, I can definitely see Jason making the final night:

Michelle looks (and is, at every bookie) odds on to go on Friday, so without a last-week-style collapse Jason is safe.

The final week is interesting though, as it moves from an unpopularity contest to a popularity contest. Jason may have plenty of people who hate him (hence the 45% vote last week), but he definitely has fans as well, and fans that will vote for him - not least the Scottish lobby which swept Cameron to an (at times) unlikely victory last year. Do either Shell or Dan have such a fan base to call on? All they have going for them is that people don't hate them. (An underlying assumption here is that Dan has lost the gay lobby to Nadia.) On that basis, either Shell or Dan to go on Wednesday, and the other to leave first on Friday. Jason third, Stuart second, Nadia to win. The only way I can see this changing would be if Dan somehow gets 'the gay vote' back from Nadia, in which case evictions in order to be Shell, Jason, Dan, Nadia, Stuart.

(btw - none of this talk of lobbies is menat to be insulting, but there is always a big section of any community who will vote for 'their own' out of solidarity without considering any other factors)

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 08:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Shell is ok but can be annoying when she seems to cry for, at times, not much of a reason, but overall far more likeable than michelle whenever I've had the chance to watch this.

x-post

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 08:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Taking this a bit further, I think Michelle has lost the 'geordie' lobby, which she had in a big way about a month ago...

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 08:49 (twenty-one years ago)

does shell have the 'middle-class blonde girls (and their admirers)' lobby? count me in!

ENRQ (Enrique), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 08:56 (twenty-one years ago)

It's a small lobby. Nush failed last year.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 08:59 (twenty-one years ago)

If Michelle goes on Friday then Stuart is fucked. The only entertainment to be gained from his presence in the house is watching him being utterly out of his depth.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 09:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmm, choice of words, Matt. From what my friend's pal said about this year's recruits is that they were picked to drive each other bonkers SPECIALLY (Ahmed being whacko in particular - tales have circulated about his eerily ultraspartan living conditions, as seen by BB peeps). And lo and behold...

I still like Dan better than Shell but they do split the boho artphag tribe right down the middle.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 09:05 (twenty-one years ago)

People should get rid of Jason. In terms of entertainment Michelle-Stuart-Shell beats weird gurning twat every time.

ENRQ (Enrique), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 09:06 (twenty-one years ago)

It's cute, it's like watching an ugly stepsister get her man as Cinderella tries hard not to convey her innermost thoughts: 'Deluded lass actually thinks I'd do sloppy seconds after her? Euw!' while trying not to laugh in her face.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 09:14 (twenty-one years ago)

People can be too hard on Michelle. She can't help being insecure.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 09:16 (twenty-one years ago)

That's what it comes down to, whether the large number of people who voted (and lost) last time voting the same way again, or if their anathema has risen to vote against a new candidate.

Personally, I think Kerry will get it.

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 09:18 (twenty-one years ago)

(haha Mark)

No, but the way she's acting is just kind of beyond insecure, considering HE CAN RUN BUT HE CAN'T HIDE. Shell never tells anyone not to do anything that annoys her and complies with the big egos, quite rightly figuring that if she's annoyed by something the public will have worked it out before her because they can see the rest of it through the magic of voyeurvision. So the 'ignore digs, be good at stuff' tactic works.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 09:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I have a lot of respect for Michelle but without her righteous feud with Ahmed she has less gojng for her than Shell who just happens to be hott PinX0r, it isn't like a main criterion oh no.

ENRQ (Enrique), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 09:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Suzy, I think you and many others tend to attribute tactics to people too readily. Subconsciously, that may be what Shell is doing, but I get the sense that it comes to her naturally. It's the same way I am, I guess, so I feel like I understand it. Letting people make fools of themselves. Some people call it passive-aggressiveness, I guess.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 09:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I think bandying the term 'passive-aggressive' around has become the new 'issues'. Sometimes, when others piss us off we have to hold fire, especially if living together in a house designed to piss people off. Each person has a different level of what they'll put up with

I think Shell's behaviour comes naturally to her too. But she's seen how people react to her and in a very hothouse setting - we'd all be giving some thought as to what the pattern of evictions meant if in her shoes.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 09:51 (twenty-one years ago)

No that's not the main criteria, she has to cool & hott!

I think shell is just that way inclined!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 09:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I completely agree about 'passive-aggressive'. I first came across it in Husbands & Wives and thought: "Yes! That's such a great term!" But I don't think I have any idea what it's supposed to really mean anymore.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 09:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Dude, Woody Allen can rationalise passive aggression into ANYTHING. I think people who go on AND ON about other people doing this are paranoid narcissists anyway.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 10:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, or just proper aggressive. Which BB housemate was it you said was a textbook definition of passive-aggressive? I've forgotten.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 10:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Spencer was v attractive PinXor, dont you think?

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 10:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Spencer rwor, etc. I only found out last year that my cousin went out with him when he was a humble puntsman. She was in the tabloids and stuff with her (not very sordid) story, but my family somehow neglected to pass this vital information on to me.

I see now that it wasn't suzy at all re: p-a and they were talking about Victor on the wedding day. Hmmm...

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 10:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Is was Victor that this thread (but not me, as I struggle to understand what it means) claimed was a textbook definition of passive-aggressive.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 10:16 (twenty-one years ago)

It was jed. I guess Victor's snippiness with Shell that day (followed by the 'but I never said anything to her!' defence) was kind of passive-aggressive, but a very cack-handed version of it.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 10:20 (twenty-one years ago)

spencer? the CB guy? jesus.

ENRQ (Enrique), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 10:21 (twenty-one years ago)

The closest a HM got to it was Vic moaning that Dan was really angry underneath, so Vic said Dan was, essentially, in the pop sense of the term.

Bottom line: Shell knows the plot of Heathers first-hand from boarding school and is coping better than I would.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 10:22 (twenty-one years ago)

CB?

i was thinking more of the bit where Shell was asking victor why he was being horrible to her and he was saying "we'll talk later, yeah?" but in a pretty intimidating (but not) way.

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 10:25 (twenty-one years ago)

suzy--yeah, but poss you are imagining that posh skool is harder than normal skool. it's just hard in different ways. i don't think michelle's schooling wz much fun either, fer example.

CB=Cambridge

Enrique (Enrique), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 10:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Cambridge, I think - not Citizens Band.

Spencer was a bit too cocky and I didn't like his belching pride, but other than he was great.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 10:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Spencer was v attractive PinXor, dont you think?
If you find ppl that don't wash themselves clean then maybe, but not for me at all!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 10:41 (twenty-one years ago)

No, it's not about quality, it's about being in a setting with people who can have a go 24/7, and most of the bullying at posh school is psychological/sublimated into sport eg. hockey whereas at any other school annoying people just get twatted after classes or the persecuted party has some privacy, can shut the door on it until the next day.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 10:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Aside: the punt we were in on Saturday in Cambs was Spencer's - the drunk Canadian girl who punted us rents it off him.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 10:57 (twenty-one years ago)

In a complete change of tack...

Has anyone else spotted that the 'tilting head' conspiracy has been bang OTM again this year? Will only be wrong if Jason goes after Dan & Shell. That's three year son the trot.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 10:59 (twenty-one years ago)

i'd imagine michelle had a pretty rough time at school as she was, to put not too fine a point on it, a fat lass...

but i see what yr saying about 24hr/no escape bullying suzy.

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 11:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Ooh I'd forgotten that Liz!!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 11:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Is was Victor that this thread (but not me, as I struggle to understand what it means) claimed was a textbook definition of passive-aggressive.

I think it's ILX for "he's never actually _done_ anything to me but I still think he's a cunt".

Onimo (GerryNemo), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 11:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Explain more about this tilting head conspiracy. Shell tilts her head, I know.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 11:15 (twenty-one years ago)

ha ha, I just read in a specialist magazine that Spencer has a new tv programme coming out on Discovery home and leisure where he goes fishing around the world - the lucky blighter

Porkpie (porkpie), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 11:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't think I can take any more of Victor's "Put it this way yeah.." rants on BBLB.

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 11:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Head tilting:

There's a conspiracy theory that the more tilted your head is in your official publicity photo on the C4 website, the sooner you go. I can't remember the exact order for BB3 or BB4, but it was spot on.

http://bigbrother.channel4.com/bigbrother/

This year, in order of tilt, I make it:

Becki (went at the first opportunity - have listed first and outside from the group because she came in late)
Kitten (went at the first opportunity - OK, was removed but would have gone)
Emma (second to go)
Vanessa (third to go)
Marco (fourth)
Ahmed (fifth - this is a tricky one as his head is not square on, but is clearly quite tilted. It's difficult to see exactly how much)
Victor (sixth)
Michelle (beating Jason for seventh)
Jason (eighth possibly, unless I'm right upthread)
Dan
Stuart
Nadia

Stuatr and Nadia are very close, almost too close to call. I've left Shell out because her head, again, isn't exactly square on - but isn't tilted much. A top three finish, unless I'm right upthread.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 11:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Extraordinary.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 11:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Any opinion on how tilted Shell's head is? I think possibly slightly less than Dan's but not by much.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 11:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Stu to win??? Nooooooo!

PinXor (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 11:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I definitely think it could happen. I'm surprised his odds are still so long. I don't know why more people aren't bored with Nadia.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 11:43 (twenty-one years ago)

There was a great Michelle sound clip played on the radio this morning. I'm paraphrasing, but it was along the lines of "Best wishes for the bride and groom; I wish my best that the bride falls in the mud and it ruins her dress and she starts crying because she's stolen my day from me."

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 11:45 (twenty-one years ago)

A great quote from the Slick man on the webchat last night. In response to "Was Stuart ever part of the Jungle cats or was he pretending to be?":

"He was at the start, but then he got neutered so, he's probably lying around somewhere in London Zoo, with kids throwing lollipops at him."

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Wednesday, 28 July 2004 14:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Poor Nadia! Sympathy vote up, though.
