Well, what is it?

MarkH (MarkH), Friday, 30 July 2004 07:04 (twenty-one years ago)

For example, do we have any Mancunians or Liverpudlians?

MarkH (MarkH), Friday, 30 July 2004 07:04 (twenty-one years ago)

You'll never make it as a stand up comedian with an intro like that...

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 30 July 2004 07:32 (twenty-one years ago)

We have at least one Mancunian. Liverpudlian, I don't know.

Alba (Alba), Friday, 30 July 2004 07:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm a Manc, but I don't live there any more. I think the strategy of finding out the answer will be slightly flawed.

I don't think there are any ILX posters in Edinburgh.

___ (___), Friday, 30 July 2004 07:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, I live in Edinburgh.

___ (___), Friday, 30 July 2004 07:40 (twenty-one years ago)

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 31 July 2004 09:57 (twenty-one years ago)

JimD (JimD), Saturday, 31 July 2004 10:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I wonder to myself.

JimD (JimD), Saturday, 31 July 2004 10:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I think Leeds is the largest city without an ILX poster.

Ed used to post from Sheffield, and farmerjames and Ambrose still do (A is in London but posts from SoYo when there, and that's often).

suzy (suzy), Saturday, 31 July 2004 10:04 (twenty-one years ago)

i lived in milton keynes for 8 years although hadn't really posted at ilx back then. (could never remember that greenspunk address, and also wasn't old enough)

is anyone from nottingham? might be a good bet.

ken c (ken c), Saturday, 31 July 2004 10:40 (twenty-one years ago)

with the boys too busy snogging the 4 girls allocated to each of them, and all. and girls of course don't go on the internet ahem...

ken c (ken c), Saturday, 31 July 2004 10:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Dublin, Dundee, Humberside?

Dublin isn't in the UK (yes, I know you were joking)

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 31 July 2004 10:59 (twenty-one years ago)

But Belfast is. Could it be large enough?

suzy (suzy), Saturday, 31 July 2004 11:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Norwich.

AdamL :') (nordicskilla), Saturday, 31 July 2004 11:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Though j e r e m y and I both used to study there.

AdamL :') (nordicskilla), Saturday, 31 July 2004 11:17 (twenty-one years ago)

From the last census, the largest cities by population are:

1 London
2 Birmingham
3 Glasgow
4 Liverpool
5 Leeds
6 Sheffield
7 Edinburgh
8 Bristol
9 Manchester
10 Leicester
11 Coventry
12 Kingston upon Hull
13 Bradford
14 Cardiff
15 Belfast
16 Stoke-on-Trent
17 Wolverhampton

Which goes to show I know fuck all about city sizes. Do people have to actually live there, or is hailing from there originally enough?

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 31 July 2004 11:20 (twenty-one years ago)

We've been over this city size controversy before. It's all in the way you count the city walls. Something's odd about the definitions used in that list if Manchester is five placed below Liverpool. Also, Bradford should be higher. And Nottingham should be there somewhere.

Alba (Alba), Saturday, 31 July 2004 11:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, Manchester must just be the city itself rather than Greater Manchester. I didn't pay that much attention, but I was sure Nottingham was big.

We did this about football teams before, didn't we?

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 31 July 2004 11:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah - it was here: Which English town or city is most poorly represented on the football pitch?

Alba (Alba), Saturday, 31 July 2004 11:33 (twenty-one years ago)

But unless someone is from Leeds, I think suzy is right whatever.

Alba (Alba), Saturday, 31 July 2004 11:35 (twenty-one years ago)
