Mike Myers appears to have sprung from the loins of the Scottish-emigrant working class (figuratively speaking, of course). If he is at all true to his origins he would spit in Bush's eye. Twice.
Pay your nickel and take your choice.

Why, if I was the guilty party, why did Jesus die for me? Why, if it was I that murdered in my heart, why do I get to roam free? If I was the one who committed adultery in my heart of hearts, why am I free to live my life as a free man? Why did Jesus pay for these crimes He never committed?
Remember Jesus’ encounter with the rich young ruler? He asked Jesus what he must do to be saved. Jesus basically said to follow the 10 commandments. This man responds, “I have kept all of these from my youth.” Are you serious!?? I have broken all ten of the commandments since my youth. I break almost all of them on a daily basis!
If I were living in the time of Jesus, the Scribes and the High Priests wouldn’t have to invent false accusation against me to condemn me. They could just honestly tell the truth, and the truth would undoubtedly condemn me. The forensic evidence would condemn me. The eyewitnesses would condemn me. The circumstantial evidence would condemn me. The blood on my hands would condemn me! The fingerprints at the crime scene would condemn me! I am guilty as sin!
Now think about it. There is Jesus being mocked and falsely accused for crimes He never committed and yet He says nothing in His own defense. I, on the other hand, knowing that I am flat out guilty would be feverishly trying to cover up the condemning truth and defending the indefensible. I just marvel as I ask myself, “Why would Jesus do this for me?” Why would He take a hit for me, the chief of all criminals?
Sometimes I wish it was I on that cross. At least that would make sense to me. I wish I had the stripes on my back, after all, that is what I deserve. I wish I had the spit of my peers dripping down my cheek, for I deserve such scorn. And if I were to receive all of the punishment my Lord endured for me, I would still be deserving of eternity in hell separated from a loving God. That would be the just punishment for my heinous crimes!
So when I reflect on how the whole trail of Jesus went, I can’t help but have an overwhelming sense of injustice. Here we have Mike Myers who is clearly guilty, yet is acquitted. And then there is Jesus who is clearly innocent and receives the punishment for Mike’s crimes. There is nothing worse than a criminal who goes unpunished! It’s injustice followed by more injustice. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Well not entirely. In this case, God decrees that two wrongs do make things right
