OK, so a few of you wanted to come up to Oxford today but couldn't make it, but I'm going to be in London on Thursday, so another FAP is U&K.

Glasshouse Stores, 5.30 onwards???

MarkH (MarkH), Saturday, 6 November 2004 23:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I am one who missed out today, so I will almost certainly come to the pub instead - a 10 minute walk after work is a bit easier to manage.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Saturday, 6 November 2004 23:53 (twenty-one years ago)

excellent, Martin. See you then!

MarkH (MarkH), Sunday, 7 November 2004 18:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Ah Mark, sadly/shamefully I can't make it to the return match as I'm going to be at Wembley that evening for the Trevor Horn tribute/salute!

It was good to see you again on Saturday. Coming to Oxford is always an emotional experience for me so it did me good to come to the A&G and be cheered up.

Marcello Carlin, Monday, 8 November 2004 08:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I *might* be able to come, early doors.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 8 November 2004 09:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Possibly. We shall see how the job interviewing goes tomorrow.

Still desperately trying to scrub these bloody TATTOOS from my costume off.

Masonic Laundry Boom (kate), Monday, 8 November 2004 11:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Umm, aren't you playing the B&G on Thursday, or have I lost track of things altogether?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 8 November 2004 11:34 (twenty-one years ago)

No, that's Thursday the 18th of November. There better NOT be a FAP anywhere except the Bull and GRATE on that day. This Thursday is clear.

The brown and sticky fox flies over the lazy dog at midnight!

Masonic Laundry Boom (kate), Monday, 8 November 2004 11:35 (twenty-one years ago)

that's next week you fule (x-post, matt is fule, obv K knows when here gigs are).

look at the calendar, it does not lie...

(also mark, sorry for implying that you will only be there 'til 7.30, but i couldn't think of another way to link to two separate threads in one day :))

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Monday, 8 November 2004 11:37 (twenty-one years ago)

It's entirely possible that I could not know when my own gigs are. I don't know where *I* am half the time!

Masonic Laundry Boom (kate), Monday, 8 November 2004 11:40 (twenty-one years ago)

i thought the entries can have overlapping time?

Are you on early doors? Will it be like 'Serial Mom'?

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 8 November 2004 11:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I am starting a campaign now to change the name to the Fisting Time.

Masonic Laundry Boom (kate), Monday, 8 November 2004 11:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Vacuum flask of Lemsip, Peter. Or whisky toddy.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 15:16 (twenty-one years ago)

FAP SCIENCE RULE #432 - Saying you are ill prior to a FAP will only encourage people to ply you with yet more bouze.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 15:17 (twenty-one years ago)

a lemsip bong?

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 15:17 (twenty-one years ago)

The Grain of Sand in Lambeth That Satan Cannot Find (kate), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 17:36 (twenty-one years ago)

nah more the "come back to what you know"

Porkpie (porkpie), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 17:37 (twenty-one years ago)

How do I turn the sound down on a macpod? I don't want to get caught listening to this.

The Grain of Sand in Lambeth That Satan Cannot Find (kate), Wednesday, 10 November 2004 17:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh balls I can't come.

beanz (beanz), Thursday, 11 November 2004 13:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh no, Beanz, why not? You always tease us and you never show.

The Grain of Sand in Lambeth That Satan Cannot Find (kate), Thursday, 11 November 2004 14:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Obviously takes after me, then.

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 11 November 2004 14:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I presume our special guests actually know where the pub is, right?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 11 November 2004 14:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Cos I'm going to see Comme Une Image instead but probably not further away than Shaftesbury Ave so if it's over before 11 I'll def come by

beanz (beanz), Thursday, 11 November 2004 14:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Our special guests have a mobile phone number or two (certainly they have mine) if they get in trouble.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 11 November 2004 14:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't believe in special guests. Humph!

The Grain of Sand in Lambeth That Satan Cannot Find (kate), Thursday, 11 November 2004 14:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Come to the pub before the cinema! Easy.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 11 November 2004 14:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll see how early I can get out of work

beanz (beanz), Thursday, 11 November 2004 14:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't believe in special guests. Humph!

No I don't think the popular veteran jazz bandleader and compere of I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue will be making an appearance.

beanz (beanz), Thursday, 11 November 2004 14:42 (twenty-one years ago)

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 11 November 2004 15:59 (twenty-one years ago)

contemplating getting home early to catch RAW on sky at 9pm

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 11 November 2004 16:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I dunno what time I'll be there - it's been a quiet day so far but my boss is off till next wednesday and she may well find lots for me to do. Hope to be there before 7.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 11 November 2004 16:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll see you guys soon!

You've Got to Pick Up Every Stitch (tracerhand), Thursday, 11 November 2004 16:51 (twenty-one years ago)

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 11 November 2004 16:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 11 November 2004 16:52 (twenty-one years ago)

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 11 November 2004 16:53 (twenty-one years ago)

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 11 November 2004 16:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Yay! So glad I made it. Good to meet everyone.

beanz (beanz), Friday, 12 November 2004 10:51 (twenty-one years ago)

good to meet you beanz!

my head hurts this morning :\

ken c (ken c), Friday, 12 November 2004 10:53 (twenty-one years ago)

biggest fap for 6 months or so? i had a lovely time.

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 12 November 2004 10:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Poor Ken. I was fresh as a slightly shopsoiled daisy this morning, while Rob, with an hour and a half more drinking than me, was decidedly not. And I have red shoes rather than a hangover: result!

xpost yes it was fab. Hello to the Lex, whom I met for the first time.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 12 November 2004 10:58 (twenty-one years ago)

*ouch*

Yes it was jolly good fun but I'd rather have the shoes than the hangover. Even though they don't suit me.

robster (robster), Friday, 12 November 2004 11:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Hello Liz, and everyone else I met for the first time! Had a very nice time. Not at all hungover now, maybe it is not physically possible to be hungover two days in a row.

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 12 November 2004 11:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I didn't get to say hi to everyone really... good reason to come to the next one

beanz (beanz), Friday, 12 November 2004 11:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Despite leaving early doors I still caught the horror of HANDS being PLACED. Someone please shoot all musical apparatus in the GHS kthxbye.

Nice to meet you Nitsuh and T'Lex! Sorry I wasn't on top form :)

Starry (hello chickens), Friday, 12 November 2004 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I apologise for my possible over-liberal use of the phrase 'chi-chi men'. I blame Tom 'Gary Stringer' Ewing. Also I should add that REEF WERE NOT EVEN PLAYING AT THE TIME.

Actually Place Your Hands was possibly one of the most horrific things I have ever seen. Quote of the night was from RickyT - "I see they got that one out of the way early, then".

Nice to meet The Lex and Beanz and N!tsuh and Nory... its a shame I didn't get round to talking to our American visitors more, though.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 12 November 2004 11:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I didn't meet beanz. Did I leave too early? Boo regardless.

The Lex, sorry about being nosy, patronising and drunk at you. To be fair, I'm usually a lot worse.

Nory, I hope I hassled you enough to post to a certain thread. Imagine my tears of disappointment and my sad little crinkly eyes if you don't.

N1tsuh, it was even better than I could have hoped. Come over again soon!

Markelby (Mark C), Friday, 12 November 2004 11:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Next time.

beanz (beanz), Friday, 12 November 2004 11:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Was the film good?

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 12 November 2004 11:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I didn't think you were any of those things Mark (apart from drunk)! I assumed I was just being egotistical and talking about myself too much again.

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 12 November 2004 11:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I apologise for my possible over-liberal use of the phrase 'chi-chi men'.

Who will kill you first - Jamaica or Peter Tatchell?

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Friday, 12 November 2004 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Film was really good, yes! I recommend.

beanz (beanz), Friday, 12 November 2004 12:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Cheers.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 12 November 2004 12:20 (twenty-one years ago)

It was a very good FAP, and very good to meet Nitsuh, Nory, Lex and Beanz, though I didn't talk enough to any of them - actually I'm not sure I can remember any FAP where I could say I talked enough to the people I like talking to, and the larger the FAP the more true that is. We need more of them!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 12 November 2004 13:09 (twenty-one years ago)

i was disheartened

when it was over

Freelance Hiveminder (blueski), Friday, 12 November 2004 13:21 (twenty-one years ago)

That was the bestest FAP in a long, long time! I thoroughly enjoyed myself! So much fun to meet The Lex and have a good long rant about erm, embarrassing bands. (And he is my new favourite person for refusing to believe that I was over 30.) Special guests, hurrah! N1tsuh, email me about that special remix you promised me. And Yay! to Beanz for making it down.

I can't believe I ate venison. The first meat I've eaten in something like a decade. It was very tasty, but my god, am I paying for it now.

Errr... yes. Fantastic turnout, great mood all round. Only regret of the night was being so drunk and incomprehensible that by the time my ILX Crush walked in I was all "zah, gah, bah" and ran away and hid.

The Grain of Sand in Lambeth That Satan Cannot Find (kate), Friday, 12 November 2004 14:54 (twenty-one years ago)

i felt so drunk by the end of the night.. crazy - my ayingerbrau tolerance has disappeared. but mmm. the stake i'm in.

ken c (ken c), Friday, 12 November 2004 14:58 (twenty-one years ago)

steak, even!

ken c (ken c), Friday, 12 November 2004 14:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Come out next Friday and do it all over again : FAG : FRIDAY NOV 19th

Sorry bout another plug.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Friday, 12 November 2004 15:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Nowt to be sorry about: I may well be able to make that one.

Marcello Carlin, Friday, 12 November 2004 15:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Next Year for me, hopefully. Maybe. Life check withstanding.

3underscore (___), Friday, 12 November 2004 15:22 (twenty-one years ago)

embarrassing bands.

Hold up! Busted aren't embarrassing!

Oh, we talked about the Libertines too... actually, yes.

The Lex (The Lex), Friday, 12 November 2004 15:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Lex didn't tell me he couldn't believe I was over 30, astonishingly.

ha, I am mentally running through the later arrivers yesterday to work out who Kate's crush might be.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 12 November 2004 17:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Aw, I'm sorry I didn't make it last night.

sgs (sgs), Friday, 12 November 2004 18:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm really starting to worry that my obsession with the ibertines-Lay is starting to become non-ironic. Oh dear.

Martin, stop trying to figure out the crush. I've decided as a matter of policy to NOT have this crush as no good can come of it. The End.

As to next week, I have to figure out a place to sleep in Kentish Town, so I can go to both gigs without having to go home inbetween! Do you think anyone will notice if I just kip backstage? OK, it smells funny back there, but I'll probably be too drunk to notice.

The Grain of Sand in Lambeth That Satan Cannot Find (kate), Saturday, 13 November 2004 11:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Kate, we'll be in about 6pm on Friday for the soundcheck. Will wake you up and bring pies. Don't smash the place up on Thursday!

Dr. C (Dr. C), Saturday, 13 November 2004 21:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't believe I ate venison. The first meat I've eaten in something like a decade. It was very tasty, but my god, am I paying for it now.
What?!!!

I'll be good, and promise not to even fart in your microphone, Dr. C!
