You get this message sometimes when you do try and do a search..

"Server is currently (x)% too busy... try again in a few minutes"

What is the highest number you've had so far?

ken c (ken c), Monday, 15 November 2004 17:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Poxy Fule starts about 4 in the afternoon.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 15 November 2004 17:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Poxy fule is a regular lunch-time ritual for me.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 15 November 2004 17:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Poxy doth love sleeping late, apparently.

I am never up at this hour, and I have been surprised at the poxy fulishness. I thought this was a thing of the past!

Casuistry (Chris P), Monday, 15 November 2004 17:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Nah, Poxy is omnipresent!

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Monday, 15 November 2004 17:24 (twenty-one years ago)

...a-a-and Poxy's presence sure gets tense, uhuh.

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Monday, 15 November 2004 17:25 (twenty-one years ago)

although we're derailing here... has anyone got a bigger server too busy wang than 1386.666667%?

ken c (ken c), Monday, 15 November 2004 17:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Isn't it a dangerous question?

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Monday, 15 November 2004 17:33 (twenty-one years ago)

I mean, there is a temptation to do mutliple complicated searches to win the game & it is silly. They are only numbers. But there is a temptation.

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Monday, 15 November 2004 17:34 (twenty-one years ago)

that's true - maybe the rule is that it'd have to happen during a search that you genuinely was going to do, rather than trying to overload the server.

i wonder if calculating how much the server is overloading is what's overloading the server though.

Bottle neck tends to occur during some of the db connections. The computer is still running everything else fine and dandy.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 18:40 (twenty-one years ago)

is there a way to boost the connections?

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 18:49 (twenty-one years ago)

seems a terrible waste of a good machine to have poxy ruining it all

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 18:49 (twenty-one years ago)

You could go to Australia and become the LIVING connection between the machines. Every day Andrew could check in on the machines and throw you a pudding pop.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 18:50 (twenty-one years ago)
