Job Advice - anyone?

Ok kids, this is kinda when I value some of you folks...

I think my new job aint gonna work out. I work with young professionals and just got told today that although the work is always in ahead of deadline, although I do everything fine... well, I'm not showing much enthusiasm.

The thing is, I don't work in a part of the office where I meet anyone but the same three faces every day. And the person I sit next too is someone I'd invariably avoid in the pub given half the chance cos she just aint very bright.

I fecking hate the situation. After the shit today I feel compelled to never go in again.

You should read the advice in this thread:

Oh, look! A helpful email from management about being a "professional!"

Personally, after being out of work for almost a year, I cherish even being employed.

I think Olive Garden is hiring. In fact I'm sure they are.

Tell your supervisor that you’re sorry if you don’t seem visibly enthusiastic about things, and you apologize if you’ve given the wrong impression and will take steps in future to correct that. Then say that you really appreciate having the position and don’t take it for granted in the least, and this is why you diligently accomplish everything that’s expected of you and do it well. If there’s something else you’d rather be doing in the firm, this is also the perfect opportunity to say that you feel like you can handle the tasks assigned to you very well, and so it might make you more engaged with the job if you could have the opportunity to help out with whatever more interesting or exciting elements of the thing are out there, which you’d be happy to devote some of your extra time to just for the experience.

In other words it might not be so hard to turn this supposed "criticism" of your performance around into a positive: "I'm a go-getter! Challenge me! Aren't you glad to have a dynamic young man like me on the team?"

six years pass...

I need career advice.

I am currently a marketing project manager. Mainly print. Sometimes I get my paws over a digital project, but not often.

I am DYING to get out of this dead end print world. I really need to learn digital/interactive marketing processes - specifically software development. That's where the big bucks are. Does anyone have any suggestions beyond getting SCRUM certified? I just... need.... to LEARN
