couldn't find another thread.

Thought i'd check this out after giving the 3rd series a miss. So far it's awesome! Even without Elisha.

So much crazy stuff. Already a bomb on a train has gone off, secretary of state and his daughter have been kidnapped. Yikes!

i hear ex-president palmer returns in the last few episodes. im sure it is he who is behind the plan to blow up the interweb

bass braille (....), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 00:16 (twenty years ago)

also, This is the thread where we appreciate '24' (now with season four SPOILERS!)

bass braille (....), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 00:17 (twenty years ago)

why why why could i not find that :(

Hari A$hur$t (Toaster), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 00:18 (twenty years ago)

well maybe we should keep this one for the UK viewers, as US is like four or five episodes ahead? What do you guys think?

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 00:38 (twenty years ago)

I'm watching season two right now, and after the inital thrill of the plot to blow up CTU it seems to be settling into a lulling rhythm of "got to find this guy who has a connection to another guy who has a connection to another guy.." I'm very sad that Darlene is dead this early. I also very much like the actor who plays the head of CTU and I hope the doctor's prognosis of death-real-soon-now is mistaken.

Definitely. All five viewers who can see this in the UK need a thread.

Fucking Murdoch.

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 02:33 (twenty years ago)

I love when Bauar burst in to interrogate that guy and when he wouldn't answer him he just shot him in the leg.

I would not fuck with Jack, ever.

Hari A$hur$t (Toaster), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 09:21 (twenty years ago)

I've still not seen the third series, I feel so lame.

Ste (Fuzzy), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 10:06 (twenty years ago)

Can a mod (teeny?) maybe retitle the "24" threads according to country so we don't see spoilers we don't want to?

I'm not too keen on the whole Jack-doesn't-work-for-CTU-but-he's-there-anyway device, and I also don't like the premise that everyone who works there now but Chloe is a totally clueless moron and the insinuation that the world will never be safe if Jack isn't in it - WTF is their recruitment policy these days? Otherwise, yeah, promising-ish start, but no series opener has grabbed me the way the first episode of series one did.

I revise my opinion on this series totally...due to the return of TONY ALMEIDA!! hurrah! We were watching it, and Jack said "I'm going to phone the only person in the world I can trust" and we were all like "shit, Kim's coming back" but no! It was Tony Almeida! Dude!! With guns!!! Saving Jack's life!!!!

(I was quite excited about it)

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 20:11 (twenty years ago)

i nearly had a heart attack in that last episode!

Hari A$hur$t (Toaster), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 20:32 (twenty years ago)

Also, wtf is with people going "can I help you with that?" to the suspicious person who is doing something dodgy? Like, there are nuclear reactors melting down, people, why would you be offering to take over doing something from someone who is already doing it when there are other things to be done, EXCEPT AS A SHITTY PLOT DEVICE. Bah.

(who cares though? TONY ALMEIDA IS BACK!)

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 20:38 (twenty years ago)

EXACTLY

he is back!

i really like 'BAAA-ROOS'.

he really won me over when he savaged that guy with the spade. And he seems to be driving around from the passenger seat now, which is quite a feat.

next week: Baa-roos to gain x-ray vision.

Hari A$hur$t (Toaster), Tuesday, 8 March 2005 20:44 (twenty years ago)

If only, then he'd have seen his dad coming down the quietest corridor in the quietest hospital in the world.

In other news, I think I love Tony Almeida. Where's Chloe gone? Where's Driscoll's mental daughter gone? How come Edgar didn't try harder specifically to override the nuclear reactor near his mammy's house and just thought about it AFTER it melted down?

kyle (akmonday), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 18:03 (twenty years ago)

GET OFF THE UK THREAD SPOILER PERSON!!!

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 18:07 (twenty years ago)

(sorry, that wasn't meant to be shouty, but, er, I'm going to get this thread retitled so that the Americans can get back to their own thread)

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 18:08 (twenty years ago)

it doesn't say this is a UK thread!!! anyway you're only like one episode behind or something.

kyle (akmonday), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 18:10 (twenty years ago)

well maybe we should keep this one for the UK viewers, as US is like four or five episodes ahead? What do you guys think?

From upthread. I asked Teeny to retitle the thread but it hasn't been done, I've asked on the mod board now.

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 18:14 (twenty years ago)

I'll take care of it.

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 22 March 2005 18:14 (twenty years ago)

I'm sorry I didn't see the request to retitle this thread, I did retitle the other one.

OK, so am I the only UK-er watching this as it goes out on Sky without reading spoilers/torrenting it?

I haven't shared opinions for some time but my theory = prez not dead as we watched the plane thing about four times in slow motion and CTU reported that an accompanying fighter pilot said "indirect hit" and the president and convenient-emotional-plot-device-son-who-has-been-on-Air-Force-One-all-the-loads-of-hours-its-been-in-the-air-without-being-introduced-until-the-threat son were looking out the window as the explosion happened. Cue next week's episode being them trying to land a one-winged Air Force One.

Also, teh Nina-type baddie is going to be Audrey Raines (I have a theory about this, but it's not very good so I won't share it unless I am proved right). And where the hell has her dad gone?

ailsa (ailsa), Tuesday, 10 May 2005 21:44 (twenty years ago)

two weeks pass...
Hey, I was right about Air Force One. I also seem to have admitted in public that I rewound the tape and watched it in slow motion because I couldn't be bothered waiting till next week to find out fate of the President.

I am quite sad, amn't I?

I actually don't care AT ALL what happens now, though I would still like to be proved right about Audrey.

never got to see series 3 as the bbc couldn't afford it and i'm not posh enough for space tv.

however, series 4 has just started on Sky 3 which is available via Freeview so even us plebs can watch it. i'm hoping it'll make sense, well, as much sense as the other two i've seen did.

i hope there's another mountain lion...

Koogy Yonderboy (koogs), Friday, 4 August 2006 13:39 (nineteen years ago)

I missed series 4, but series 5 is incredible (and I had no problem picking up the events I'd missed).
