We've sorted out the next three dates for Poptimism at the Polar Bear in Soho. The first of them is on the 5th May, which is ALSO (almost certainly) the day of the General Election. So there's our gimmick right away! (Though Steve didn't realise when he picked the date, but our first choice one was taken.)

Special ELECTION NIGHT PARTY from 7 onwards. Downstairs at the Polar Bear has a plasma screen TV next to the DJ booth so we can hopefully see the results come in as we dance (and play appropriate tunes). There will certainly be POP VOTES occurring over the course of the evening too. There may well be free gifts for those good citizens who turn up with a polling card (though if you're planning on coming make sure you vote in the morning).

Best of all, "I was up all night watching the election" is a time-honoured workplace get-out-of-jail free card, it makes you seem civic-minded instead of a drink-addled wastrel. So it means that the 5th is (almost) not a school night!

More details of price, duration etc. to follow (it will probably be £2 like last time, though)

For some reason all Club FT photos from the Chapel used to look like hedonistic booze madness even when there were only 15 people there, whereas all photos I've seen from thronged sweaty Poptimism so far make it look like a youth club party w/ the kids jiving uncomfortably to Sir Cliff.
