wow. this show is wrong wrong wrong yet totally amazing. makes staying up until midnight on a Sunday almost worthwhile.

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 8 April 2005 19:46 (twenty years ago)

I can't believe no one else has seen this. Puppets that kill and eat God (played, inexplicably, by Dick Gregory!) Kids verbally accosting strangers on the street (sample question to a businessman: "would you like a wetnap to get that blood off your hands?") A "super-group" of bulemic pre-teen girls called "Finger Force Five" that transform into supermodels by making themselves puke... COME ON! THIS IS GENIUS!

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 8 April 2005 19:54 (twenty years ago)

I watched this last night for the first time and I was in complete and total awe. One of my favorite throwaways was when a kid holds up a card that says, "You are dead to me." to the camera, runs up to a businessman acting all pestery cute shouting "MISTER! MISTER! MISTER! Here," then runs off while the guy goes, "Well thank you! *reads card* HUH??????" It was outstanding.

There was also a segment called "What Are You Running From?" where a puppet pestered joggers about whether they had accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and an amazing cartoon about killing people with kindness.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 8 April 2005 19:59 (twenty years ago)

when I first saw this show a couple weeks ago I was *really* loaded and tired and ready for bed - I woke up the next morning wondering if I had hallucinated the whole thing. so many brutal jokes packed into each segment, its one of those things where I almost don't want to laugh cuz I might miss something....

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 8 April 2005 20:03 (twenty years ago)

Holy shit, what channel is this on?

Curious George (1/6 Scale Model) (Rock Hardy), Friday, 8 April 2005 20:03 (twenty years ago)

the two episodes I saw were broadcast on MTV at 11pm on Sunday night as part of some MTV2 programming block.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 8 April 2005 20:06 (twenty years ago)

HAHAHAHA I FORGOT ABOUT D.O.G. O.B.G.Y.N.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 8 April 2005 20:07 (twenty years ago)

Plastic Surgeons Without Borders!

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 8 April 2005 20:08 (twenty years ago)

there was also some segment that was sorta Teletubbies-ish with cute little furballs spouting gibberish which over the course of the segment morphed into identifiably *racist* gibberish and ended with the furballs banishing the "black" furball (complete with cutesy rapping gear) in order to make the grumpy furball of the group happy. totally fucked.

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 8 April 2005 20:12 (twenty years ago)

holy cow - someone just told me the guys behind this show are the guys from PFFR on Birdman Records.

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 8 April 2005 20:17 (twenty years ago)

there's a thread WONDER SHOWZEN

Aaron A., Friday, 8 April 2005 20:45 (twenty years ago)

I love this show. torrents are pretty easy to find now, so if you don't have cable (tv) it's all good.

Dan I. (Dan I.), Friday, 8 April 2005 21:42 (twenty years ago)

AMY SEDARIS on tonight's episode!

(i want the '30 second history of world politics' (or whatever) - united states breaks free, pisses on mexico, grows a huge, fanged mouth and devours chunks of other countries, shits out tiny central americas in asia, etc - to be broadcast every hour on the hour, every channel.)

i love this show. it actually gets to that point where you're wondering how long MTV will tolerate it. haven't seen something like that since strangers with candy, actually.

el sabor de gene (yournullfame), Saturday, 16 April 2005 08:38 (twenty years ago)

ambrose (ambrose), Saturday, 16 April 2005 13:21 (twenty years ago)

One of my favorite lines is little kid to old guy at the racetrack (horses):

"Why don't you just cut out the middleman and give all your Social Security checks to the Mafia?"

This show is classic. And I agree 100% w/ El sabor De Gene about broadcasting that cartoon everytwhere, over and over. Genius.

Jay Vee (Manon_70), Saturday, 16 April 2005 13:41 (twenty years ago)

I saw last night's ep and one other, I think last week. the one where mother nature dies doing a sex change operation on herself and then the main puppet FUCKS HER WOMEN PARTS (bloody cow organs or something)-- very disturbing, very entertaining. using the kids they way they do is brilliant.

W i l l (common_person), Saturday, 16 April 2005 14:30 (twenty years ago)

I really like that the studio is named Augenblick

W i l l (common_person), Saturday, 16 April 2005 14:31 (twenty years ago)

tokyo nursery school: afternoon session (rosemary), Monday, 25 April 2005 02:38 (twenty years ago)

Hm, this sounds pretty promising! (Can I ask again what the best software for BitTorrent on a Mac is?)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 25 April 2005 02:47 (twenty years ago)

Episode 6 pretty much sucked, but ep. 7 was back on track.

Dan I. (Dan I.), Monday, 25 April 2005 03:45 (twenty years ago)

"holy cow - someone just told me the guys behind this show are the guys from PFFR on Birdman Records. "

totally bizarre show. wow.
m.

msp (mspa), Monday, 25 April 2005 04:07 (twenty years ago)

Which one was Episode 6? Because if it was the one with Rufus McTruthfist and the petting zoo visit and "I don't ever ever ever wanna grow up/old people make me make me wanna throw up" and "Oh I get it, your racism is IRONIC [eyeroll]" then you are mad crazy wrong

Stupornaut (natepatrin), Monday, 25 April 2005 04:10 (twenty years ago)

(Oh, that was Episode 5. And yeah, Episode 7 slayed me, what with the Chewties jingle and Animal Dance.)

Stupornaut (natepatrin), Monday, 25 April 2005 04:15 (twenty years ago)

I want to like this, but I don't.
Like I really don't.
At all.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Monday, 25 April 2005 05:31 (twenty years ago)

I think it helps to have been somewhat semi-traumatized and weirded out by Sesame Street as a toddler.

Stupornaut (natepatrin), Monday, 25 April 2005 06:13 (twenty years ago)

Ep. 6 was History, and it was only bad in relation to the other ones.

Dan I. (Dan I.), Monday, 25 April 2005 08:29 (twenty years ago)

(Ned, I use Tomato Torrent, nothing special, but it does the job.)

W i l l (common_person), Monday, 25 April 2005 14:29 (twenty years ago)

Thank ya Will. I will investigate.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 25 April 2005 14:36 (twenty years ago)

christopher meloni was on the last one!

i haven't seen the whole episode yet, though. the rerun conflicted with, uh... pimp my ride.

el sabor de gene (yournullfame), Monday, 25 April 2005 16:07 (twenty years ago)

wait, when is this on now? I tuned in to MTV at 11pm last night and it was that stupid show about the Blink 182 drummer. (He has tattoos! And a baby! NO WAY!)

Shakey Mo Collier, Monday, 25 April 2005 16:36 (twenty years ago)

i think it first airs 9 pm on friday, then about a thousand times after that. the one i missed was 1 am monday morning.

el sabor de gene (yournullfame), Monday, 25 April 2005 16:45 (twenty years ago)
