the four-disc set is 2 discs of movie and 2 discs of making-of with lots of extra trivia all over the place, even in the subtitles.
the 2-disc director's cut is done in a roadshow style and probably the best epic anybody's made in a good long time. William Monahan before he got famous!

this movie is tight

i saw the 4-disc set for £3 ($6,000) and still didn't get... regretting a bit now.

I find it kind of awesome that this brought home truckloads of money from Egypt after bombing in the states

That first scene where he sets the blacksmith on fire! WIN. (I do not remember anything else specific bcz I was really high when I saw it, but it was a pretty damn rad movie! I remember that much.)

Or maybe a blacksmith set a religious official on fire. There was slo-mo burning either way.

i recommend watching the director's cut, but get a little drunk instead of high

bloom is kind of bland as usual but the rest of the cast is 110%, esp. crepey mask ed norton

bloomps is bloomps. no matter how much they make him up to look grizzled and thirty he can't help seeming wet behind the ears. a little of that works for the character though, because he's supposed to be a bit naive

just to reiterate

I would consider amazong gifting it for folks who still haven't got it I mean it's like $20 which if I think about things the right way I would gladly give up a couple cab rides or a few beers so that a deserving individual might have the opportunity to fully appreciate this wonderful achievement of moviemaking

so awesome

like, I fell asleep 10 min into the theatrical version & could not have given two shits about anyone in it...amazing what putting back in a bunch of key character details does for a sweeping epic
