Has this thread been made already? I am writing a paper on the park for my cultural theories, so talk all about it. Praise, gripe, whatever.

The bean is in a tent. They are polishing it. My favorite part is the foot bridge, it's beautiful. The rest can suck it.

The way everything is privately owned and copyrighted is pretty interesting, I think, especially in the way it's not unique.

I started a Millenium Park thread pretty soon after it opened. I generally like it, but it's not yet really a park where people go and hang out and have picnics and just relax, it's more like a collection of assorted tourist attractions (the bandshell, the bean, the crazy face towers) with paths connecting them. I hope it eventually gets more park-y.

Millenium Park - Chicago

Nick OTM for the most part, though I do notice that the little kids love playing in that wading fountain. And no matter what you think of Gehry, the bandshell is great to have. I plan to see much music there this summer -- anything free, really. A little Mozart and Mahler in the afternoon sounds like a lot of fun. On the lawn, in the summer air, with lawn seating that actually allows you to see the performers. Ahhhh.

Personally, I think it's an eyesore, a cancer.
