in particular, people who feel obliged to talk about how brilliant everything they do is, classic or dud.

This is the thread where we say how fucking brilliant we are and everyone else stands up and applauds

I always find that whenever I come across people like this I don't feel like I get anything out of the experience.

Maybe you're just not worth talking about, so others feel they have to talk about themselves.

argh: no powers of 2 are divisible by 3 huh.....

no tech! (ex machina), Friday, 8 July 2005 18:20 (twenty years ago)

Dud!

But not nearly as irritating as people who feel obliged to talk about how everything in their life is shit and how depressed/incompetent/stressed out they are!

elmo (allocryptic), Friday, 8 July 2005 18:20 (twenty years ago)

It makes me want to scream "What the fuck is wrong with you, you twat"

Penelope_111 (Penelope_111), Friday, 8 July 2005 18:21 (twenty years ago)

I'm intrigued by what might have prompted this thread.

I would say dud, except that I am someone who talks about herself all the time.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Friday, 8 July 2005 18:28 (twenty years ago)

People who talk about me all the time: classic.

Paunchy Stratego (kenan), Friday, 8 July 2005 18:29 (twenty years ago)

The worst part about these people is their inability to remember what they already told you. When they start telling you the SAME THINGS as the last time you talked, you feel as if you are just an incidental listening machine.

elmo (allocryptic), Friday, 8 July 2005 18:30 (twenty years ago)

fucking dud, so annoying, I have no tolerance for it anymore.

kyle (akmonday), Friday, 8 July 2005 18:31 (twenty years ago)

elmo otm. at least fucking remember.

AaronK (AaronK), Friday, 8 July 2005 18:33 (twenty years ago)

Dud. Unless they are Prince or Kanye West.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 8 July 2005 18:34 (twenty years ago)

what about people who feel obligated to talk about how crap they are, all the time? i find this equally annoying, depending on how piercing their voices are

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 8 July 2005 18:37 (twenty years ago)

What I find even more annoying is someone who's just discovered some activity (owning dogs is brilliant!) or person (Johnny Depp's very attractive!) you've been excited about for years, but suddenly they're all into it and talk about it non-stop, leaving you wanting to punch them.

accentmonkey (accentmonkey), Friday, 8 July 2005 19:00 (twenty years ago)

People who talk all the time: dud.

Taste the Blood of Scrovula (noodle vague), Friday, 8 July 2005 19:56 (twenty years ago)

Classic, though not as classic as this one time, when I did this thing, let me tell you all about it and we can both laugh and be amazed at me and my life.

Bore, n.: A person who talks when you wish him to listen.

I just stopped in to see what everyone was saying about me.
