I saw one in Scotland. It was dead mind you, lying on it's back. Was in the Botanic Gardens in the park at the back of the Victoria Infirmary so it come over in a plant.
Come to think of it - you get them in grubby British restaurants on these expose documentaries, so I'd think you would get them in Ireland.

middle east was peace of piss... the only vermin I saw there was a friendly little rat. But in TEH UNITED STATES OF TEH AMERICAS I saw a cockroach the size of a car... and now I fear that it and its kin are hankering after me.
