Eazy (Eazy), Monday, 10 April 2006 15:52 (nineteen years ago)

Where is that woman's face?!

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 10 April 2006 15:54 (nineteen years ago)

GINO WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Monday, 10 April 2006 15:55 (nineteen years ago)

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Monday, 10 April 2006 15:56 (nineteen years ago)

He just told that girl that he made a commitment to be aggressively open-shirted for the rest of his life and she was just gonna have to DEAL WITH IT.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Monday, 10 April 2006 15:56 (nineteen years ago)

That guy's chest grosses me out more than the harelip.

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 10 April 2006 15:59 (nineteen years ago)

Well, it's not the top post, so it will fade off the thread quickly.

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Monday, 10 April 2006 15:59 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, I screwed that up. If anyone misses the Schubas show tonight in order to see Gino Vannelli at the House of Blues, I completely understand.

Eazy (Eazy), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:01 (nineteen years ago)

Leonard Cohen + Mick Jagger =

Eazy (Eazy), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:05 (nineteen years ago)

That man is an abomination.

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:05 (nineteen years ago)

"aggressively open-shirted" = ROFLEZ

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:05 (nineteen years ago)

x2

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:07 (nineteen years ago)

I want to point out that despite his revolting stare, he looks a little like Mark Ruffalo in that picture.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:14 (nineteen years ago)

I've never seen Boxing Helena, but surely it's the craziest movie ever?

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:17 (nineteen years ago)

I saw it because it has Sherilyn Fenn in it.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:18 (nineteen years ago)

he looks a little like Mark Ruffalo in that picture.

No, he doesn't. I refuse to believe this.

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:19 (nineteen years ago)

I don't know about "craziest." It has a Tomatometer reading of 17, and the word "boring" appears several times on the page.

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:20 (nineteen years ago)

Come on, yes he does! He also looks like Richard "Repeat Offender" Marx.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:20 (nineteen years ago)

I am loving John's deep-seated revulsion to Gino Vanelli. As if he were covered in worms.

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:21 (nineteen years ago)

I saw Boxing Helena as a double feature with Madonna's Truth or Dare at this dude Aaron's house in high school. A couple of female friends and I spent the night in his bedroom and fell asleep listening to William Orbit.

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:21 (nineteen years ago)

As if he were covered in worms.

Gino Vermicelli

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:22 (nineteen years ago)

Chicago Tribune today:

"A piano, a trombone, a keyboard and a violin walked into a bar. . . .no, it's not a bad joke, its just some of a great local band's gear that will land at Schubas a few times this month with the six members of the band. Stop by for one of their Practice Space residency shows and be greeted by their lush indie-pop orchestrations, not to mention a host of changing opening acts. This time around they'll be joined by Hopewell and Er1c Z13g3nh4g3n."

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:23 (nineteen years ago)

Sometimes I think you Googleproof just cause it's fun.

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:25 (nineteen years ago)

Man oh man, I really want to go to Schuba's tonight! Rock and roll weekend does not want to end!!! It's like Audrey II. I gave it life and now it wants MORE BLOOD!

In other news, I saw Boxing Helena and don't recall being revulsed by it and I can't think of many things that would revulse me more than a man cutting off a woman's limbs to keep her captive so... yeah. It must have been boring.

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:32 (nineteen years ago)

Jenny, maybe you can have just a LITTLE more rock and roll. Just one more hit. Just one more.

Or maybe wind down slowly. Think of C4n4st4 as rock and roll methodone.

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:36 (nineteen years ago)

Oh shit, methadone is bad news.

Laurel (Laurel), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:37 (nineteen years ago)

I am eating yummy leftover Nepali tofu. Maybe better the second day.

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:41 (nineteen years ago)

Ooh, where's that from? (I mean what restaurant, I know where Nepal is.)

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:45 (nineteen years ago)

No restaurant, bitch! Homemade!

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:45 (nineteen years ago)

Tell me more about "Nepali" tofu, pls.

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:45 (nineteen years ago)

And don't call Amanda a bitch!

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:46 (nineteen years ago)

Whatever, bitch, since when did you cook Nepali anything? Geez.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:46 (nineteen years ago)

(OMG I have a recipe I can post on the blog!)

It's like tofu, potatoes, peas, and spinach in a tomato sauce with tons of spices and a little garlic.

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:47 (nineteen years ago)

Only bad thing is that we didn't let the taters cook long enough.

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:48 (nineteen years ago)

Whatever, bitch, since when did you cook Nepali anything? Geez.

I think you piece this one together if you think about it. :) :)

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:48 (nineteen years ago)

did somebody say TATER?

Sweet Tater (kelstarry), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:50 (nineteen years ago)

No, you're hearing things.

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:50 (nineteen years ago)

kidding. John's clue is in the "we" . . .

by the way, I'm having beer tonight w/ allegra & maybe karen & maybe caitlin.

Sweet Tater (kelstarry), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:51 (nineteen years ago)

Nice. Say hi for me.

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:52 (nineteen years ago)

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 10 April 2006 16:55 (nineteen years ago)

You really should think about getting more sleep.

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Monday, 10 April 2006 17:00 (nineteen years ago)

NIXON IN CHINA? MORE LIKE NIXON IN YOU SUCK

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 10 April 2006 17:02 (nineteen years ago)

Talking Heads? More like the Talking Homos.

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Monday, 10 April 2006 17:06 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, I hate it when homos talk.

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 10 April 2006 17:11 (nineteen years ago)

Ugh. I'm not gonna be able to go to the Canasty/Eric show tonight. I have THE draft of my thesis do tomorrow, and it needs workin' on. I hope you guys understand, and maybe I'll actually go next Monday. Eric, I am crying inside at not being able to hear your Joanna Newsom cover.

Kevin, I am Dave. Short hair, short beard, belly (or as Kenan said, "fat motherfucker"). =regular roundups. also, right after my name is my log in, if you have that turned on, which is Dave M.

regular roundups (Dave M), Monday, 10 April 2006 17:12 (nineteen years ago)

were you at ronny's dave? i don't remember meeting any bearded folk.

most everyone is gone from work until thursday as upper management has a retreat in wisconsin so i'm taking this opportunity to CRANK cococoma through my computer's speakers. good times.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Monday, 10 April 2006 17:15 (nineteen years ago)

I am imagining Cococoma as Cocorosie and To Rococo Rot collaboarting on a cover of "Kokomo."

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 10 April 2006 17:17 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, I was at Ronny's. I mean, it's kind of a pathetic beard. Here.

regular roundups (Dave M), Monday, 10 April 2006 17:24 (nineteen years ago)

I was really late.

regular roundups (Dave M), Monday, 10 April 2006 17:24 (nineteen years ago)

YUM.

Sarah Madkitten McLusky (coco), Thursday, 13 April 2006 20:11 (nineteen years ago)

For your amusement, "the 19-year-old":

http://www.snponline.com/PHOTOS_OF_WEEK/POW9-17/images/wo%20marisa%20holmes%209-17-03k.jpg

(Sort of a weird photo. She was prettier in person.)

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 13 April 2006 20:38 (nineteen years ago)

Never forget, 19-year-old

Holy makkara, Toivo! (OutDatWay), Thursday, 13 April 2006 20:42 (nineteen years ago)

haha

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 13 April 2006 20:45 (nineteen years ago)

Ducked out a little early. In honor of Mr. Erdm4n's appearance, I am listening to Kathy McGinty again. It's so genius. You know, her muff has tusks.

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Thursday, 13 April 2006 20:50 (nineteen years ago)

For all the pervert hilarity, my favorite bit is the one where the guy figures it out, and just starts laughing his ass off and admiring the genius of it. I like that guy.

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Thursday, 13 April 2006 21:03 (nineteen years ago)

Nice C4n4st4 review in PopMatters today.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 13 April 2006 21:15 (nineteen years ago)

Very cool! They like you!

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Thursday, 13 April 2006 21:18 (nineteen years ago)

Oddly, they seem to like you much more than a 6.

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Thursday, 13 April 2006 21:27 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, I know, that's kinda weird.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 13 April 2006 21:32 (nineteen years ago)

You have all abandoned me late in the day, and I am sad. I think I will go patronize the Steely Dan thread.

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Thursday, 13 April 2006 21:57 (nineteen years ago)

Who in this bitch likes peeps?

Jeff. (Jeff), Thursday, 13 April 2006 22:46 (nineteen years ago)

I'm sure I've told the story before of Easter 1992, where I ate a lot of Peeps, took a couple bong hits, and puked pink marshmallow out of a car window. I will never eat a peep again.

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Thursday, 13 April 2006 22:55 (nineteen years ago)

Stop being a bitch and peep me up!

Jeff. (Jeff), Thursday, 13 April 2006 23:07 (nineteen years ago)

You stop being a bitch, bitch! I will vomit pink on you.

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Thursday, 13 April 2006 23:11 (nineteen years ago)

Peeps are dope

n/a (Nick A.), Thursday, 13 April 2006 23:15 (nineteen years ago)

This goes out to my Chicago peeps, especially Jesse. (Perhaps not best for work.)

Casuistry (Chris P), Thursday, 13 April 2006 23:22 (nineteen years ago)

In the morning!

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Thursday, 13 April 2006 23:25 (nineteen years ago)

Why hasn't that become a stadium staple?

Jeff. (Jeff), Thursday, 13 April 2006 23:32 (nineteen years ago)

Baffling.

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Thursday, 13 April 2006 23:33 (nineteen years ago)

DOES JAYMC OWN A MAROON LATE-MODEL FORD TAURUS THAT HE JUST DROVE THROUGH THE LEAVITT AND ARMITAGE INTERSECTION? CUZ I BIKED RIGHT BY YOU, DUDE.

gbx (skowly), Thursday, 13 April 2006 23:33 (nineteen years ago)

That song will never feel out of date.

Casuistry (Chris P), Thursday, 13 April 2006 23:35 (nineteen years ago)

I think John's car is white?

n/a (Nick A.), Friday, 14 April 2006 00:14 (nineteen years ago)

oh, ok.

gbx (skowly), Friday, 14 April 2006 00:23 (nineteen years ago)

SEX! Over the PHONE!

That was... absurd.

Safety First (pullapartgirl), Friday, 14 April 2006 01:35 (nineteen years ago)

One of the bands that's opening for Wilderness on Sunday looks really interesting:

http://www.partsandlabor.net/

This makes me happy.

Holy makkara, Toivo! (OutDatWay), Friday, 14 April 2006 01:50 (nineteen years ago)

Also, they played at Quenchers in 2002?

Holy makkara, Toivo! (OutDatWay), Friday, 14 April 2006 01:53 (nineteen years ago)

that was probably him! i think that's his car desc., anyway.

Sweet Tater (kelstarry), Friday, 14 April 2006 01:54 (nineteen years ago)

Hi board. I'm just getting back in touch after a day of hard work.

John, Stop throwing your twee new love in our faces!
Ha ha, j/k. I'm in love too. Tra la la. Springtime love...

Hey! Maybe you guys should go on a double date! To hell!

WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot (unclejessjess), Friday, 14 April 2006 02:22 (nineteen years ago)

OTM

gbx (skowly), Friday, 14 April 2006 02:27 (nineteen years ago)

dying

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Friday, 14 April 2006 02:37 (nineteen years ago)

Oh you guys... 'm just kidding.... About the date part.

WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot (unclejessjess), Friday, 14 April 2006 02:42 (nineteen years ago)

Oh my god, I did type "best plan."

That's fucked up!!!!!!

What does that mean? Is that a euphamism? Patrix talks about dudes he means to sleep with as "plans."

WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot (unclejessjess), Friday, 14 April 2006 02:43 (nineteen years ago)

DOES JAYMC OWN A MAROON LATE-MODEL FORD TAURUS THAT HE JUST DROVE THROUGH THE LEAVITT AND ARMITAGE INTERSECTION? CUZ I BIKED RIGHT BY YOU, DUDE.

He has a Mercury something. And it is maroon.

Mercury:Ford::6:1/2 dozen.

WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot (unclejessjess), Friday, 14 April 2006 02:45 (nineteen years ago)

shh!

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Friday, 14 April 2006 02:52 (nineteen years ago)

What are you people doing? There's a cool STORM AT SUNDOWN shaping up.

WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot (unclejessjess), Friday, 14 April 2006 02:53 (nineteen years ago)

yeah, i just shut my windows right quick. it got real ugly real fast.

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Friday, 14 April 2006 02:55 (nineteen years ago)

I just drove home from Lake Forest - amaaaazing lightning all across the western sky, beautiful behind the big under-construction buildings along hwy 41. Had to call the roommates and ask them to close my bedroom windows in case the storm hit before I got home.

Eazy (Eazy), Friday, 14 April 2006 03:01 (nineteen years ago)

It's coming and going here. I fear for the large part of my bay window. I kind of wish it would just blow in so I could get it replaced. The new windows are in the basement but the maint. guy is a twat. And an idiot too!

Kenan, what are you doing? Where is everyone? I tried to call you, but it was busy. :(

WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot (unclejessjess), Friday, 14 April 2006 03:03 (nineteen years ago)

Derek, you are funny. And weird. And cheap. Seriously, someone is gonna see Band of Horses at the Pitchfork festival and flip their shit when they see the CD used at HPR for like $6 because you totally could've gotten like $10 out of them. I am totally going to that party, by the way. Will I see any of you there?

is pretty unfuckwithable.

This is such a good word. Cee-Lo got me hooked.

The Knife CD is pretty good. I really like the "I need your music," "Forest something" song. Track 9.

That Parts & Labor website is hard to look at.

Finally, I am seriously psyched about the Pitchfork festival now. They are announcing a HUGE, AMAZING band tomorrow that I'll be really interested to hear your opinions on. Seriously, I went from "okay, some bands I like but it seems like a lot of possibly mediocre typical indie-ish stuff" to "Fuck! Awesome."

regular roundups (Dave M), Friday, 14 April 2006 03:03 (nineteen years ago)

Art Brut is good, though.

Also, if this storm at all clears up and I get the call, I am going to get drunk with people from the coffee shop I used to work at, which includes a current "plan."

regular roundups (Dave M), Friday, 14 April 2006 03:04 (nineteen years ago)

I was talking to a girl.

Yeah, the lightning just lit up my whole apartment for a second, in that weird way where suddenly everything it's noon at midnight and your brain goes "WHAAAAA?" until it readjusts.

Gilbert O'Sullivan (kenan), Friday, 14 April 2006 03:05 (nineteen years ago)

Also, I increased my article-writing efficiency by 2 times today. 4 articles instead of 2 like on Tuesday (although I guess it has that name for a reason).

And Evan, you are awesome for biking to White Castle.

My current roommate (Charles, some of you may remember) is going to sell his Raleigh to me for $20. It will need new tires and a lock, but I think it will be a nice thing to have. If all you organic-fruit buying, bretzel-eating, natural-living bicycle riders hadn't talked so much shop recently, I probably wouldn't have even considered it. Now I feel like I'm missing out on something.

Sorry for so many posts. I'm doing my catching up for the day.

regular roundups (Dave M), Friday, 14 April 2006 03:08 (nineteen years ago)

Whoa!

That's a "plan-to-avoid."

WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot (unclejessjess), Friday, 14 April 2006 03:13 (nineteen years ago)

Now seems like as good a time as any, especially since this Storm has sort of brought the thread full circle and I've been waiting to be able to do this for a little bit now, so here goes: Chicago: I Believe.

regular roundups (Dave M), Friday, 14 April 2006 03:14 (nineteen years ago)

DOES JAYMC OWN A MAROON LATE-MODEL FORD TAURUS THAT HE JUST DROVE THROUGH THE LEAVITT AND ARMITAGE INTERSECTION? CUZ I BIKED RIGHT BY YOU, DUDE.

The funny thing is, every time I see a bicyclist on the streets of Chicago, I think it's you. There was a guy I was neck and neck with on Elston this morning, and I had to pull up a little to make sure it wasn't. Yes, that was me. I was on my way to Irazu.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 14 April 2006 06:52 (nineteen years ago)

These threads are out of control, and it's embarrassing me. Whatever. I'm so fucking sleep-deprived right now. I got to meet dleone tonight, though! A quality gentleman.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 14 April 2006 06:55 (nineteen years ago)

Finally, I am seriously psyched about the Pitchfork festival now.

im excited for the futureheads, who features a band member i have a total crush on. i might come for the vice thing and lollapalooza too. why is vice doing the intonation and pitchfork doing their own thing?

phil-two (phil-two), Friday, 14 April 2006 07:02 (nineteen years ago)

who knows!

gbx (skowly), Friday, 14 April 2006 09:31 (nineteen years ago)

why is vice doing the intonation and pitchfork doing their own thing?

i'm guessing both vice and pitchfork wanted all the money they could get.
