9th Avenue Food Fest on the 20th! 9th Ave will be shut down all around Port Authority, there will be lots of good street food, and I'll be in a kilt from 1.15-1.45.

is that an actual local street fair or the same as all the others? because the latter is hardly a scene I'd recommend. though I guess you do see lots of New Yorkers at them.

i don't know what you mean, but 9th ave is the only street fair i go to. It just happens to be specifically about FOOD.

i think g. probably means the identikit street fairs that set up on summer weekends. they have the same tat vendors - discount tube socks, for instance - and the same food stalls (grilled corn, lemonade, cheapy greasy thai, italian sausage) and are generally very uninteresting.

yeah, some quick research suggests that it's pretty much just like the others, i.e. the same cookie-cutter vendors with bad food, the same depressing scene, only much bigger and so perhaps with greater possibility of a local place or two. i guess it could be worthwhile if you've never been to one.

bad food! bad food! You are all crazy not to love the crappy italian sausages! Everytime I hit the atltantic antic, it's one of those for lunch, followed by some zeppoles and finally a cherry ice. That's a meal, my friends.
