So, who's watching the semifinal today? Me and a bunch of friends are gathering at one friend's apartment to see them, this is actually the first time in years I'm going to watch the contest. I haven't really heard any of the songs though, besides the Finnish ones obviously. Is there some place in the web where you can see/listen to them? What's the UK tune like this year?

I am going to have to avoid ILx for the next day so the semi doesn't get spoiled for delayed-telecast me.

Did everyone other than me know that last year's comedy rock entry Wig Wam once did a cover of Mel C's "I Turn You" (and it was grate!) and that Swedish entrant Carola (who should have won in 1983 but did in 1991) hates teh gays?

Who's our commentator guy on this semi-final? He's AWFUL. I may even have to turn off if he doesn't shurrup soon.

For Eurovision to be kitsch and fun and a little bit shit, it needs to believe it's great and important. This year is already looking like it might be the one where they finally cross the line, and say "heh, we're kitsch and fun and a bit shit, aren't we?" and end up just being...a bit shit.
