I've got a job doing previews for club nights for a free Student Mag. I love them because they're only 100 words and they let me pick a few I'd love and a few I'd hate.

I've also got a job with the same mag, for sometime next week, where I piss off some TDs (MPs) by ringing them up and asking them questions about the licensing laws. Jeremy Paxman eat your heart out.

Ronan, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Artwork (I might get a display on Tangents again); film script (on- going project with friend); music (kinda stalled at the mo); ILx comp album (just starting); NaNoWriMo novel (still mean to finish it one day).

i have a review in the TLS coming up. fancy. that's it. i've officially given up on my interactive fiction.

Alan Trewartha, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

does writing previews for a freesheet count as creative?

I am also writing my exciting zines for Frank's APA, the place the secret music illuminati go to talk about music.

DV, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

At univeristy I'm doing metalwork, photography and animation (and working on my soundtrack for the animation).

Mitch Lastnamewithheld, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Since I'm a graphic designer, I have creative projects every day. Yay for me.

Sean, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I've got a little musical project I'm working on.

DG, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Juggling reviews as always, plotting the next novel (I finally figured out the ending, so I will probably start writing it soon), thinking about that ILx comp as well and otherwise Considering Things.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I've got a video project called Birds Birds Birds! which is about birds. Beacuse no one else (inc me) turned up the day we were meant to be filming. How the fuck we're going to make a three minute video out of it I do not know. Plus no one else agreed non-ironic heavy metal would be the best soundtrack.

Graham, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

this weekend tompaulin are making 10-track demos for a Mystery Interested Celebrity Producer... and are dead excited!

katie, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I want to paint something, but not my usual dashed off attempt churning out paintings to meet deadlines. I want to stroll the streets and scare people by feeling INSPIRATION EVERYWHERE and then sketch for months before the actual painting would begin...and then spend a loong time on it. I need someone to sit for me, it needs to be from real life.

Evangeline, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Bugger all. Peotrye and such is for GURLS. (Yes yes I will try and write the Five article and everything else I have promised instead of being a spacker although no-one probably considers that creative oh well)

Sarah, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

With the help and substantial expertise of a noted ILx favourite, I am still in some sense or other 'making' the same record I've been making since November (or March 2001, if writing is included); plus the *other* record that we and still *another* ILx favourite have been 'making' since December.

the pinefox, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Loads of unimportant little things, of which hopefully at least a quarter will get done: writing articles for everyone I promised articles back when I thought I wanted to write more of them; researching a piece on John Ashcroft; putting together a track for the IL* comp; putting together a single for my friend's CDR + cassingle label; trying to force myself to work on short stories instead of any of this.

Nitsuh, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Juggling reviews as always
Reviewed any good jugglers recently?

I've been working on a pinball/pachinko game for the PC. It won't be finished for ages, but if you like pinball, get This.

Simeon, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I've just finished a chunk of performing, but haven't done any creating in a while. I'm in the process of cleaning up my hard drive so that I can go back to Rebirthing.

Dan Perry, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Working on two psychology journal papers, one of which has been accepted pending some revisions, the other which I have yet to submit. When the first one is all done, maybe I'll post the online link and you all can explain to me what I wrote! :)

Joe, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Norman Phay, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I've been working on some flash poems. And trying to do some boot mixes but my computer doesn't really have enough juice. And there's always that damn thesis...

bnw, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

kevin enas, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Desperately trying to write enough songs for my next record. The first one took 7 years to write.

electric sound of jim, Friday, 15 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

di, Saturday, 16 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Contributed to a fanzine, writing music reviews for a webzine in addition to sporadic blogging, mulling over how to record a backlog of songs,so probably not that different to a lot of other ILxers.

Damian, Saturday, 16 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

dan, Monday, 18 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I AM a robot. Promise to robot dance di. It is nz children's book festival week so my current project is making displays to encourage reading. such hard work ;)

ducklingmonster, Monday, 18 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

gah, you creative bastards. my main new year's resolution was "do something creative" which i have almost entirely failed to do (one crappy bootleg and a bit of djing hardly counts methinks), although i am becoming quite, ahem, creative with these job application forms i'm filling in...

although this has just reminded me that i'm meant to be writing some, double extra ahem, biting satire on indie kids for a philipino MTV magazine (no, really). oh yeah and the FT sk8punX0r piece i've been promising tom for about 8 months...

apols if this comes up three times, greenspun is playing silly buggers...

CarsmileSteve, Monday, 18 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

one year passes...
I am very frustrated. I'm afraid I might stab someone in the eye with a pen or forcefeed them my cellphone unless I find a cheap creative outlet soon. This film shit's expensive, man. Writing? Poo painting? What?

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 00:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm designing a building.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 00:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Painting can be somewhat cheap -- at least, it's bound to be cheaper than film (especially at the ... what, "entry level" for each. Unless film supplies are a lot cheaper than I think.) Between college-grade paints in small amounts (get six you can mix), a canvas pad, canvas panels, or thick paper pad instead of stretched canvas, and the nigh-irrelevance of brush quality for a beginner, you can get going for the cost of dinner.

Even cheaper than that, you can get a small set of pastels or oil pastels and a pad...

Writing is arguably cheapest, except that you can always find an excuse to buy something for "research."

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 00:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Poo painting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Andrew (enneff), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 00:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm attempting to write a great American novel. It's about a theme park where genetcally engineered dinosaurs run amok. I'm calling it..."Danny and the Clonasaurus".

latebloomer (latebloomer), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 00:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I believe it was 'Billy and the Clonasaurus'. 8/10.

Andrew (enneff), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 00:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, I got it confused with Danny and the Dinosaur, which was a children's book.

latebloomer (latebloomer), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 00:52 (twenty-two years ago)

New blogs for DYS and Proved by Science....really.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 00:54 (twenty-two years ago)

this

donut bitch (donut), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 00:55 (twenty-two years ago)

DB, have you actually burned any copies? (Thread doesn't say). If you have, we should barter.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 00:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm still just knitting.

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 3 December 2003 01:25 (twenty-two years ago)

ten months pass...
i have finished a short film script recently and i am working on animated effects stuff and will start shooting a week from tomorrow... it's kind of like a cross between 'the stranger' and super mario brothers 3... but not nearly as silly as that sounds... just kind of silly.

plus i am working on a longer feature oriented script about a man who involuntarily
astral planes and is persuaded by a clandestine faction of the cia to learn how to aim his
astral projections only to be reeled in by a mystical muslim cleric who realizes his presence when he appears psychically in gaza. he then is brainwashed and becomes a terrorist who uses his ability to spy on cia spooks only to eventually realize that he has not left the cia at all... that he in fact exists both places and must do psychic battle against himself from the other side of the globe and that his intense headaches are a result of leading two opposite existences and sharing, loosely, the psychic fabric of one mind. this one is really as silly as it sounds. i am almost finished with this. but i have been assured by someone in /the business/ that something like this could never be made. i don't know if i believe him though.

also i am working on music that kind of sounds like if you took a bunch ether and then listened to a ginuwine album.

plus assembling my reel for motion graphics companies.

busy times... the rest of y'all?

firstworldman (firstworldman), Monday, 4 October 2004 22:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm making coconut, lime and halibut curry, editing a short HD film about cowboys, writing a sample chapter for a novel about the meeting between the two fictional characters by Travers and Barrie, revising a feature-length currently titled Love In The Endtimes, beginning research into an adaptation of Italo Svevo's Confessions of Zeno and stewing up a big turd in my colon.

Remy (x Jeremy), Monday, 4 October 2004 22:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm editing old stuff. treading water is kind of fun, actually.

Matt (Matt), Monday, 4 October 2004 22:52 (twenty-one years ago)

I was sitting in my Textual Analysis and Criticism class (zoning out as usual) and I noticed that my notes and doodles on the pages were interesting (graphically) and were a litany of little phrases and notes that were less about keeping up in class but responding to prof. and students with things I couldn't say it out loud.

I thought that I might take some of my pages of notes and other people for various classes and photograph them, then print them up pretty large. It sounded like something art professors would love and give me good grades for.

The idea sounds less interesting now that I'm not trying to avoid listening to someone talk about Lukács.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Monday, 4 October 2004 22:57 (twenty-one years ago)

busy times... the rest of y'all?

M'friend, we really must talk more here sometime. (Especially since I've discovered you're a Disco Inferno freak as well.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 4 October 2004 22:59 (twenty-one years ago)

indeed we must. wound up having a reunion of sorts with rarely seen friends last night so it was tough to get away. and i do love me some disco inferno. both the band and the song, in fact.

firstworldman (firstworldman), Monday, 4 October 2004 23:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Occurs to me that you'd get along very well with the LA crew as well, folks like Spencer and Jeremy. I'll start including you on the vague FAP e-mails I send out. Out of curiosity, interested in the Mouse on Mars/Junior Boys show on Thursday? Robotsinlove and Spencer and I are already planning.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 4 October 2004 23:08 (twenty-one years ago)

& me!

Remy (x Jeremy), Monday, 4 October 2004 23:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Are you in? Great! I was going to call you about that.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 4 October 2004 23:09 (twenty-one years ago)

i will definitely be there : D
mouse on mars is the best show i've ever seen ever.
my leg shakes with anticipation. my good foot is twitching.

firstworldman (firstworldman), Monday, 4 October 2004 23:11 (twenty-one years ago)

I think this is all sounding like a prime miniFAP of its own! I was pondering the idea of dinner beforehand up there, depending on our patience and schedules.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 4 October 2004 23:15 (twenty-one years ago)

building
