What corporate logo would you have tattooed?

I just spotted a new guy on my course has the Zildjian (ie. The cymbal company) logo tattoo huge on his arm.

1) Is this punXor?
2) What should you get tattooed, if you had to?

Graham (graham), Friday, 4 October 2002 10:40 (twenty-three years ago)

The Rolling Stones logo, I guess, or Casio. Korg, MAYBE.

anthony easton (anthony), Friday, 4 October 2002 12:56 (twenty-three years ago)

I've actually thought about this! I think the idea of getting a corporate tattoo is awful, but then I thought would I get a Linn tattoo if I got some perks from them, and the answer is "yes". The logo is abstract enough, and unknown enough not to be obnoxious, and I really would like an Ekos tonearm.

Sean (Sean), Friday, 4 October 2002 13:53 (twenty-three years ago)

I would get the Enron logo, as a symbol for my failures.

Nicole (Nicole), Friday, 4 October 2002 13:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Marvel Comics

RJG (RJG), Friday, 4 October 2002 18:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Here goes any cred that I may have had:

I have a (sorta) corporate tattoo. One of my favorite bands has always been Gang of Four, and in college I got the Infinite Zero symbol inked on my back. I liked the symbol a lot and I completely identify it with GoF, not with Henry Rollins & Rick Rubin. It's lame and dorky, but there it is.

Yancey (ystrickler), Friday, 4 October 2002 18:28 (twenty-three years ago)

i have a tattoo that isnt really corporate but it does symbolise my heritage, and i have another planned which is the logo i designed for my business some years ago. thats corporate enough for me.
i wouldnt choose any corporate logo i know of to be tattooed with, except maybe the toyota symbol cause i like it.

N0RM4N PH4Y, Friday, 4 October 2002 20:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Norman, don't you have some sort of (non-corporate) PH4E B1S!KL3Z logo?

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 4 October 2002 20:57 (twenty-three years ago)

The problem with fay cycles' old logo is that thee initials are "n. f." which are also the initials of the n4t!0n4l fr0nt, a really obnoxious far-right racist group. What a fucker, eh? I did seriously consider having the brompton bicycles logo tattooed on my arm though.

N0RM4N PH4Y, Friday, 4 October 2002 21:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Just use this:

PH4EB1S!KL3Z

Aaron A., Monday, 3 March 2003 23:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Ha, in a way though it's very contemporary to get a hip couture logo tattooed on yrself, quite the statement about the world we live in today. As years go by you can get additional tattoos for Aeropostale, Sean John etc. etc.

I mean is it relatively more or less insane to be permanently badged with the image of a cartoon skull, a random assemblage of lines, a barcode versus a commercial institutions' logo? What abt Harley Davidson tats?

What about service tattoos, you know, the ones that say things like USMC? Are those dumber or not as dumb as A&F?

Millar (Millar), Monday, 3 March 2003 23:28 (twenty-two years ago)

The 4AD logo would be kinda cool, if not a little bit wanky of me :D

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 3 March 2003 23:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Fear not, Trayce, for a number of years I was considering that very logo as a tattoo. ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 3 March 2003 23:30 (twenty-two years ago)

my thoughts on this here:

Music-related tattoos

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Monday, 3 March 2003 23:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually that reminds me, I used to want the Cocteau's spinning-flower-girl image as a tat. I'd quite forgotten about that. I suppose that's hardly a corporate logo, though :)

And it'd still rock.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 3 March 2003 23:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Millar - service tats are cool unless accompanied by Taz (which eliminates 60% of service tats)

James Blount, Monday, 3 March 2003 23:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I was hoping this thread had been revived because Robbie Savage had Googled his own name...

Is an image a company logo if the company has been out of business for more than a century? (I want a tattoo of the Chat Noir cat, the logo of the old late 19th-century Paris cabaret.)

j.lu (j.lu), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 00:53 (twenty-two years ago)

As seen in the Ally blog!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 01:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I will tattoo any corporate logo on my back for a fee. Like a race car.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 02:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey cool, a permanent source of income! Well, unless the company goes under I spose.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 02:22 (twenty-two years ago)

You think it's funny - I've been unable to wear T-shirts in public for a year now thanks to Worldcom.

Millar (Millar), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 02:24 (twenty-two years ago)

casa sanchez in the mission of sf used to offer a free burrito a week (?) to people with their logo tattooed onto their bodies.

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 02:25 (twenty-two years ago)

If only we'd settled on an ILX logo, we could all have got that tattooed.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 13:09 (twenty-two years ago)

If any company paid me enough I'd do it. But not on my head.

Chris V. (Chris V), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 13:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I want the chemical structure of speed tattooed on my arm.

SittingPretty (sittingpretty), Tuesday, 4 March 2003 13:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I would sooner have one of the ILx logos (where have they gone?) than any corporate logo.

I have Hello Kitty on my left shoulder blade. She's been my spirit guide for many years.

Layna Andersen (Layna Andersen), Saturday, 12 July 2003 06:31 (twenty-two years ago)

My inkslinger, Doyle, already has a half-sleeve drawn up for me that features, among other things, a Lone Star beer bottle.

That Girl (thatgirl), Saturday, 12 July 2003 07:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Layna, that's where I want to get a Chococat tattoo!

rosemary (rosemary), Saturday, 12 July 2003 15:35 (twenty-two years ago)

The next time I do tequila shots, I want to do them with DDG.

(And no, I wouldn't get the Moxie logo tattooed on me. It's orange, for Pete's sake. Although wait, I have a shirt that exact same color. Okay, but the shirt is not tattooed to me.)

Tep (ktepi), Saturday, 12 July 2003 15:38 (twenty-two years ago)

rosemary, go for it. Get the Chococat.

I got my Kitty last year, first ever tattoo. Not even a hint of pain, either, and I cry at getting my eyebrows waxed. My mother was APPALLED, and even at 40 that's sort of worth the price. :-)

Layna Andersen (Layna Andersen), Saturday, 12 July 2003 16:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Doctor Pepper.

Ian Johnson (elmo oxygen), Saturday, 12 July 2003 18:16 (twenty-two years ago)

My drug dealing neighbor across the street has the Grafix joker on his arm.

Ian Johnson (elmo oxygen), Saturday, 12 July 2003 18:17 (twenty-two years ago)

*begins slicing limes*

That Girl (thatgirl), Saturday, 12 July 2003 19:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I just picked up key limes the other day specifically for tequila, and then we ended up drinking something else instead. Hrmp.

Oh, on-thread ... does Sauza have a logo? Sauza. Maybe.
