did arab on radar split up? is all a big joke? does any one know anything for sure? call me sad, i don't care, i'd just like to know.

racing_the_tide (racing_the_tide), Friday, 15 November 2002 13:14 (twenty-three years ago)

They did split up. Their webmaster posts on here so I assume he'll post on here. They were supposed to play with the Get Hustle this month but it doesn't look like they're even playing one last show.

Jonathan Williams (ex machina), Friday, 15 November 2002 13:29 (twenty-three years ago)

Seems to be the case, though I'm still not considering it a done deal untill they make a public statement. Look at MRP - they're touring Japan after having broken up and doing their "last show ever"...

Dave Fischer, Friday, 15 November 2002 17:20 (twenty-three years ago)

MRP are touring Japan? What the fuck..? I had no idea of that.

Ian Johnson, Friday, 15 November 2002 18:34 (twenty-three years ago)

WHAT THE FUCK?

Jonathan Williams (ex machina), Friday, 15 November 2002 18:39 (twenty-three years ago)

They're over there right now, I believe. Neil, Sam, & The Rah Bras.

Dave Fischer, Friday, 15 November 2002 21:52 (twenty-three years ago)

No, it can't be. They were suppose to be touring with the Get Hustle. I was gonna be at that show next monday. Does anyone know why?

A Nairn (moretap), Friday, 15 November 2002 22:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, the shows with the Get Hustle um.. aren't. The one I was going to go to is now Get Hustle, Daughters and Vincebus Eruptum. I'll still probably go.

Ian Johnson (orion), Friday, 15 November 2002 23:08 (twenty-three years ago)

damn. I never made it to one of their shows & I was thinking hey, now I am in providence, they'll play here sometime soon..
grr.

daria g, Saturday, 16 November 2002 06:22 (twenty-three years ago)

one year passes...
Who else loves this stuff? Who else thinks Soak The Saddle is the most amazing no-wave record ever?

Ian Johnson (orion), Saturday, 13 December 2003 06:44 (twenty-two years ago)

generally a bit overrated, but i do dig soak the saddle and queen hygiene II. they just reissued queen hygiene and rough day at the orifice on one cd, if yr hankerin'

roger adultery, Saturday, 13 December 2003 19:21 (twenty-two years ago)

got 'em both already. i wish there was more live stuff floating around. all i've got is a show in Providence from a few years ago. Does anyone know if other live recordings exist? that was the way to hear AOR.

Ian Johnson (orion), Saturday, 13 December 2003 19:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I have the singles comp and like it.. Should I get Soak the Saddle next?

Sonny A. (Keiko), Saturday, 13 December 2003 21:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd say so, yeah. It's juvenile and noisy but lots of fun. Yahweh Or The Highway is also good. A little more structured, though.

Ian Johnson (orion), Saturday, 13 December 2003 22:30 (twenty-two years ago)

what singles comp?

I saw thema few times, they are really fun live. The singer does this mock-retard Joe Cocker spazz thing that never gets old. Hate the lyrics, for the most part, though, and can't shake the feeling that they'd never exist if not for the 'Maple.

roger adultery, Saturday, 13 December 2003 23:20 (twenty-two years ago)

"The Stolen Singles", came out this year on Three One G

Sonny A. (Keiko), Saturday, 13 December 2003 23:23 (twenty-two years ago)

four months pass...
The production on Yahweh or the Highway is truly thrilling; the guitars sound so much fuller than before. (And this in no way diminishes their "annoying" capacity, though.)

Ian Johnson (orion), Sunday, 2 May 2004 18:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyone heard the Chinese Stars yet?

NickB (NickB), Sunday, 2 May 2004 20:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Chinese Stars are pretty cool. A lot less chaotic than AOR, though. They're also a bit dancier. Some great harsh guitar parts; more reminiscent of the Jesus Lizard than anything else.

Ian Johnson (orion), Sunday, 2 May 2004 20:41 (twenty-one years ago)

My roommate has the Chinese Stars CD. I don't remember what it sounds like but it looks GREAT

Sonny A. (Keiko), Sunday, 2 May 2004 21:03 (twenty-one years ago)

chinese stars!
