WHATEVER - classic or dud?

so this Liam Lynch 'United States Of Whatever' song is a good few years old but only now its come to prominence and reached the ears of the hoi polloi (me included) and its on the verge of becoming something of a hit. i love it like i loved the Budweiser 'Wasssup!' thing when i first saw that but its got 'play thrice then sneer' all over it i suppose. exactly the kind of thing thats brilliant for 5 minutes but then you'll never want to hear it again. that said, although of course it would be stupid if those 'Wassup' ads were still going, i still look back on them with fondness at least in the sense of 'yeh that was an amusing ad campaign' - perhaps we're destined to do the same with this song. on that basis alone though i say its classic of course, a perfect throwaway parody track for now, nothing more nothing less - plus it will hopefully rekindle awareness of Sifl & Olly which is surely a good thing.
