This is the exact question a friend asked me today, and so I thought I would turn to you, the good ILM people, for help. Of course, if there's already a thread on this, direct me there...

geeta (geeta), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 04:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I think the video for Betty Boo's "Boomania" has little comic book pauses showing Betty in action.

mei (mei), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 05:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Grell (Grell), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 05:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Didn't the Lullaby videao contain a Spiderman-reference?

willem (willem), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 05:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, Robert says the word "spiderman," but I don't think he's referring to Peter Parker.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 13:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Didn't those clowns in the Spin Doctors have some song/video about Kryptonite? Likewise 3 Doors Down?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 13:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 13:56 (twenty-two years ago)

One of the small-group incarnations of Sun Ra's Arkestra did a cover album of Batman & Robin themes.

christoff (christoff), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Missy Elliott - Sock It To Me (the video is a complete riff on Megaman)

Is that the Capcom Megaman (AKA Rockman)?

mei (mei), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 15:07 (twenty-two years ago)

All the videos for songs used in the Batman movies ("Hold Me, Thrill Me..."by U2, "Gothem City" by R.Kelly, "The End Is The..." by Smashing Pumpkins etc.) Altough I'm not so sure about Prince and the first movie.

Charles McCain (Charles McCain), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:37 (twenty-two years ago)

what aren't you sure about?

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:38 (twenty-two years ago)

lyrically...

The Roots' "Thought @ Work"...

"I'm like Aquaman & Brown Hornet..."

And I've heard Kool Keith reference Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Green Lantern, and Lex Luther among many other comic book characters. Shit, Keith might as well BE a comic book character himself.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Is that the Capcom Megaman (AKA Rockman)?

Yeah. It's one of the best videos ever.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:42 (twenty-two years ago)

A) didn't notice the "videos" in the thread title (yes, I'm daft)
B) does anyone know if Kool Keith has ever had a video?

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 16:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Kool Keith is in the video for hios duet with Princess Superstar on 'Keith & Me'

i think he's also in the video for Regular Fries' 'Coke n Smoke' but not sure about that - he raps on the track

and there might have been a video for 'Blue Flowers' under his Dr OCtagon guise

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 1 April 2003 17:03 (twenty-two years ago)

surely Daniel Johnston's Captain America obsession has worked its way into some of his songs?
