It's somewhere near Amsterdam. So Jacob, you'll need to find another reason to be jealous of Germans...although: Mayday, Loveparade, Nature One, Timewarp...

I just saw Legowelt and TLR in Los Angeles. It was excellent though a bit more low-key than "Disco Rout" in general.

I would go just to see Dave Clarke/DJ Rush/Jeff Mills. Especially DJ Rush, his "Motherfucking Bass" might be my favorite track from last year.

Nono, it's Awakenings. Thing is, ever since money isn't really an problem for me anymore (well, for these things at least), I've been enjoying big events more and more compared to regular clubbing, there's more variety. I would love a festival that has good trance, electro, house, techno, drum 'n bass, progressive AND hardstyle/hardhouse DJs. The fact that Legowelt/Alien/TLR/Lektroluv are on the festival above is a big plus, I will definitely get bored by fourteen hours of only earbleeding minimalist techno.

well at fourteen hours that lineup must be split into what, four or five areas? how did they divvy up the djs? who made the big room, and who's playing at peak time?

god, this reminds me, in 1997 i had to pick between dj sneak and basement jaxx at a big party - i picked sneak! then i fucked up and saw coldcut instead of 4 hero! doh!!!

New festivals keep coming up every year, it's insane...all of these events have lineups to die for, no wonder that the clubs are screaming bloody murder at the moment.

if you're going to a festival in holland i would recommend the free technival parties,but if you do go to the one listed above,make sure to see steve rachmad and surgeon...

I think we might be going over for Dance Valley, we went two years ago and it was a fantastic party (marred only by disastrous transport disorganisation at the end).

Well be quick to get tickets soon (I've already got them, yay!), because the festival was sold out months in advance last year.

If outdoor festivals are your thing, Awakenings is on 3 July this year. Also: Extrema on 17 July.

On 16-20 July, there's a 5 day festival in the Melkweg (indoor Amsterdam venue) 5 Days Off which looks great too (not only techno: LCD Soundsystem, T Raumschmiere, Tiga, Ritchie Hawtin, Audio Bullys, Chicks On Speed, Metro Area, DJ Sneak, 2 Many DJ's, Marky & XRS etc).

how about outdoor festivals in germany? i recall reading here on ilm that the love parade is cancelled this year.
