i've only listened to the first 2 or 3 songs so far and already i can tell this album is a monster. funked out rhythms, crazy soloing, weird ass harmony singing (kids songs no less), tripped out keyboards, fuzzy guitars, and what the hell is that, distorted vibes?!?!

reissue of the year fer sure.

makes me almost think the 500$ ebay prices were worth it (almost)

Rocket Ship off the peanut butter wolf 45s collection was amazing... can't wait to hear this.

it's pretty damn great - i was kind of dubious about this at first, only having heard the other music samples (which are the least killa traxxx on the album) and "junkman's song." and then i woke up with "junkman's song" going through my head, downloaded the album and went out and bought it yesterday - just the right blend of funk, rock and jazz for my tastes, and the surrealist kiddy-music quality just pushes it over the top. i can't imagine how many people who saw the WGBH show they recorded this stuff for were permanently damaged by that fuzzed-out vibraphone.

this is pretty neat

yeah, those other music clips are just ok. the first track, 'junkman's song', is so fuckin killer. the disonant chords with the distortion on top just make it so wacked out.

if you have't already heard it, check out the Grodeck Whipperjenny album. fuzzed out soul, psych, funk, and a lil jazz. kinda reminds me of the Stark Reality.

Um, has anyone actually listened to tracks 9-12 on this thing? Specifically "Too Much Tenderness". Suffice to sat it's a little, er...hmm.

would you like to expand on that, dleone?

Much very, very bad singing -- to the point that if you had made some of that stuff available on a compilation entitled "The World's Worst Music", it would become a cult, kitsch fave, and win a truth in advertising award.
