Why Can't I Find Anything By Disco Inferno?

I mean I've tried second hand, the internet and all i can find is In Debt and ridiculously-high-priced copies of D.I. Go Pop. I can't seem to find any cheap copies of it or any of their other singles that aren't compiled on In Debt.

T. Weiss (Timmy), Thursday, 3 July 2003 22:20 (twenty-two years ago)

astoundingly, i found TWO used copies of 'd.i. go pop' while in tucson, arizona. this information is not likely to make you feel better in any way.

mitch lastnamewithheld (mitchlnw), Thursday, 3 July 2003 22:28 (twenty-two years ago)

i paid $1 for my new copy of DJ Go Pop. there were shiteloads round Melbourne a couple of years ago..

Try here.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Thursday, 3 July 2003 22:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I can't find on WinMX either. Every time I search on "Disco Inferno" I get the obvious result. "Love Stepping Out" gets me someone called Diana Krall and "Summer's Last Sound" gets me the "I Know What You Did Last Summer" Soundtrack :-(

phil jones (interstar), Thursday, 3 July 2003 22:48 (twenty-two years ago)

there are a lot of listings here.

keith (keithmcl), Thursday, 3 July 2003 23:03 (twenty-two years ago)

If you have a copy of soulseek you can get DJ Go Pop from my shared folders. My user name is Current313, browse through my files, there are a few ilm-centric goodies to be found there.

Drop by the ILM room, too. It is always nice to chat with other ilm'ers.

Wasn't Disco Inferno a professional wrestler? :-/

John Bullabaugh (John Bullabaugh), Friday, 4 July 2003 00:17 (twenty-two years ago)

DJ Go Pop is a BRILLIANT name for a deejay!

DI Go Pop, on the other hand, is also a great record.

donut bitch (donut), Friday, 4 July 2003 02:16 (twenty-two years ago)

the only "actual" copy of a d.i. record i have is the early singles/lp collection

i've never seen a d.i. record in a store

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 4 July 2003 03:55 (twenty-two years ago)

i had their 7" single on cheree as well but sold it for being 'dull'

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Friday, 4 July 2003 03:56 (twenty-two years ago)

is this the "where'd you get your copy of go pop from" thread?

i got mine from a library sale at camberwell in 1995.

gaz (gaz), Friday, 4 July 2003 03:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I got mine off djangos.com, and it was only like 8 bucks... My g-f found hers for 3 bucks in a bargain bin. You'll definitely stumble across it (the cover's really cool!). Technicolour is the viciously hard to come by one, and all I've got's a CDR of my friend's copy.

Clarke B. (stolenbus), Friday, 4 July 2003 04:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I got Technicolour from Amazon.co.uk earlier this week. A couple of weeks ago I got DI Go Pop from one of the sellers on here.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Friday, 4 July 2003 08:32 (twenty-two years ago)

i'll be putting love stepping out and summers last sound mp3s up next month, when i get some extra space

gareth (gareth), Friday, 4 July 2003 08:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't wait, do it now! (Guess who's lost their tape of Summer's Last Sound)

RickyT (RickyT), Friday, 4 July 2003 08:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Both http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000024C4Z/026-4186421-4079609 and http://www.101cd.com/music/info.asp?id=1413291 reckon they can supply it within a couple of weeks.

Not that that's a guarantee of anything much of course but I thought it might be worth mentioning.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Friday, 4 July 2003 09:21 (twenty-two years ago)

i likle the idea of a 'where di u buy your disco inferno records from thread'

i got my di go pop from hmv in swindon in 95 and my copy of technicolour from hmv in bath in 96. I've also got a copy of the 'its a kids world' single, but i can't for the life of me remember where is came from - replay record in bath probably

Robin Goad (rgoad), Friday, 4 July 2003 09:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I got DI Go Pop from http://www.bar-none.com/store/catalog.html -ish place, for a transatlantic delivery it was impossibly swift, arriving the very next day. I Got Technicolour from amazon.co.uk with fabby ease, I think hmv.co.uk had it also a few months back but am not sure this is still the case.

Alex in Rotherham (Alex in Doncaster), Friday, 4 July 2003 09:49 (twenty-two years ago)

oh, ok...

i bought my summers last sound/love stepping out 12" in jumbo records leeds i think, though i'm not entirley sure. i think the devil deep blue sea 12 i bought at vinyl exchange manchester. i dont own the others

gareth (gareth), Friday, 4 July 2003 09:55 (twenty-two years ago)

I think the R3 Mixing It session is still in print too. It was last year, anyway.

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 4 July 2003 10:16 (twenty-two years ago)

www.rocketgirl.co.uk lists a few releases and normanrecords has the peel session

dh, Friday, 4 July 2003 12:20 (twenty-two years ago)

i mean mixing it session, obv

dh, Friday, 4 July 2003 13:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Is the Mixing It record worth seeking out?

original bgm, Friday, 4 July 2003 16:11 (twenty-two years ago)

it's not particularly fascinating...little collages and bits of groove adorned with sample schtuff...no vocals.

jess (dubplatestyle), Friday, 4 July 2003 17:37 (twenty-two years ago)

it took me about six months to collect all their cds; the only one I really couldn't scrounge up was the Last Dance, which glenn from piano magic was kind enough to locate for me somewhere in rough trades offices and send to me for free when I wrote asking about it.

you will likely never find these in shops unless you're lucky at this point, but gemm is where I found most of the rest (DI Go Pop I did pick up cheap in a shop).

The mixing it session is kind of fun but the only thing I never listen to by them, whereas I listen to the other singles all the time.

anthony kyle monday (akmonday), Friday, 4 July 2003 17:42 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm sad because my copy of summer's last sound/love stepping out suffered CD rot and won't play anymore.

it'd be nice if they'd re-release di go pop and technicolour with the associated singles as bonus tracks...

di go pop/summer's last sound/a rock to cling to/the last dance
technicolour/second language/it's a kid's world

well i can dream.

fortunate hazel (f. hazel), Friday, 4 July 2003 18:08 (twenty-two years ago)

It would appear that I have A Rock To Cling To sort of by accident (off one of the Beanos 50p bundles). Quite nice.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Friday, 4 July 2003 18:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd wager that a lot of ilxors have The 5 EPs (which is how it should be released, dammit) due to Ned's Santa-like migration among occupied territories.
(+ I've been burning mad copies of it for friends, etc)

& that Bar None store works? Been vaguely meaning to try an order from there, but figured it hadn't been updated since last millenium.

Ess Kay (esskay), Friday, 4 July 2003 23:18 (twenty-two years ago)

i got my di cd eps off a 3 for a pahnd barrow in soho.

gaz (gaz), Friday, 4 July 2003 23:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Calling Ned.

Girolamo Savonarola, Saturday, 5 July 2003 15:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Thanks to everybody for the info and I know have finally found places which sell D.I. Go Pop and Technicolour. But how can I get a copy of this so-called "5 EP's"?

T. Weiss (Timmy), Saturday, 5 July 2003 19:45 (twenty-two years ago)

5 copies of the original ep's and a cd burner

jess (dubplatestyle), Saturday, 5 July 2003 20:04 (twenty-two years ago)

T., I can burn one for you if you like. Email me.

anthony kyle monday (akmonday), Saturday, 5 July 2003 21:19 (twenty-two years ago)

is there no shame any more!

Chip Morningstar (bob), Saturday, 5 July 2003 21:38 (twenty-two years ago)

apparently not!

Mike Taylor (mjt), Sunday, 6 July 2003 20:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd wager that a lot of ilxors have The 5 EPs (which is how it should be released, dammit) due to Ned's Santa-like migration among occupied territories.

Quite right. I am happy to provide this service as needed still, of course. (Sure, young punks like Anthony can muscle in but I WAS THERE when DI sold their computers for guitars...oh wait, that was Tom.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 7 July 2003 02:24 (twenty-two years ago)

So I finally decided it's time to buy the damn CDs and delete my moldy old mp3s, and find that the 2004 reissue of DI Go Pop has vanished off the face of the earth. WTF?

muus lääv? :D muus dut :( (Telephone thing), Wednesday, 30 May 2012 02:18 (thirteen years ago)
