Let's have a thread about this. It's stupendously great, right?

Girl pop + guitars = K-lassik.

she wears a ramones t-shirt in the video. c.

It would be more brilliant if it wasn't almost immediately trumped by Kylie's "Slow".

I hope that instead of switching to straight electro she does more electro/indian fusions a la "All In The Mind" off the first album - which is utterly fantastic and a bit better than the new one even.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Sunday, 5 October 2003 12:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I think it's a lot better than "Slow".

Julio, I'm amazed she wears anything in the video to be honest.

I like the formation-sunbather bits in the Slow video a lot but not the Kylie close-up bits.

She takes off her top in the video and she makes me melt.

I don't give a shit if the music is any good. Though she sells me her calender that's for sure. Oh boy, she's delicious.

If it wasn't for the Benny Hill resemblence, i probably would be sexually attracted to holy valance. As it stands, i think both songs are good, but could benefit from large reverbed-up metal objects being hit. Or noise generators. Also, i am liking these videos which are having guitars in the music. Hopefully, this is a sign that the guitar will be leaving the pop charts soon, yes?

Benny Hill's cousin was her grandfather

The Holly Valance track is GREAT! Also much better than the new Kylie track. I like it that Holly is doing a bit of elektro :-)

Rudolf (Rudolf), Monday, 5 January 2004 10:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I love the mad shrieky robo-vox in "State Of Mind". Trumps Kylie a million times over.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 5 January 2004 12:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Theres never been a thread on here to talk about the mind-melting awesomeness of State Of Mind - the album though, so perhaps this should be revived to talk about that.

mark e (mark e), Monday, 17 May 2004 11:52 (twenty-one years ago)

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES. "Action", "Roll Over", "Double Take", "Desire", "Everything I Hate" - all fabulous bits of pop bliss.

edward o (edwardo), Monday, 17 May 2004 12:04 (twenty-one years ago)

methinks edward likes the album. off to grab .. brb .. cant beat a slice of proper pop music every now and then. cant be all "weirdo music" all the time (c. every school w*nker that ever came near me 79-85)

mark e (mark e), Monday, 17 May 2004 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

this song is terrible. the production and sound is fantastic and something of an achievement for whoever did it but the song is pretty lame.

thesplooge (thesplooge), Monday, 17 May 2004 12:25 (twenty-one years ago)

ok. back. liking the title track, lots.. has a lovely electro groove going on. the fact that this means i have to endure weird looks as people have actually heard of HV in the office i work .. a rare thing with my cds. the rest doesn't seem to reach the same levels of excellence. damn. may even have to jump in the whole hog and get the kylie album thats a mere 3 notes as well ..(album prior to Fever).

mark e (mark e), Monday, 17 May 2004 13:38 (twenty-one years ago)

That being "Light Years"... it's worth it for "Your Disco Needs You" (the gayest song ever written, and performed with uproariously camp glee to boot - has a fantastic video too) and the bonkers title track: "My name is... Kylie. I will be your... person". "Thankyou for flying KM airlines."

The rest is a bit pants though.

Give Holly another whirl, the songs grow on you. It may not work as well because "Hypnotic", the opener, is shit, and "Ricochets" breaks the mood a bit. Program them out.
