good for him, I like it when ex-musicians decide to do something totally different (like Husker Du's Greg Norton who became a chef)....

Matt Helgeson (Matt Helgeson), Friday, 21 November 2003 01:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Greg Norton's a chef?

Aja (aja), Friday, 21 November 2003 01:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Where have you been, kittycat?

Francis Watlington (Francis Watlington), Friday, 21 November 2003 02:01 (twenty-two years ago)

What do you mean?

Aja (aja), Friday, 21 November 2003 02:02 (twenty-two years ago)

It's old news! Gots to keep your VH1 credentials up to date!

Are you talking to me?

Aja (aja), Friday, 21 November 2003 02:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Aja, Greg Norton pretty much left music after Husker Du broke up (I think he may have been in a short lived band but I'm not sure), after that he went to school to become a chef, and now works at a (supposedly very good) restaurant outside of the Minneapolis/St.Paul area.

Matt Helgeson (Matt Helgeson), Friday, 21 November 2003 03:23 (twenty-two years ago)

(Francis, Aja is twelve years old I think, so it's pretty amazing that she knows/cares who Greg Norton is)

(correct me if your not the one who posted about the Killing Joke show Aja)

Matt Helgeson (Matt Helgeson), Friday, 21 November 2003 03:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you talking to me?
-- Aja (AsiaKitty200...), November 21st, 2003.

Wha, you talk'n to meh, lil' girl?

Bwahahha. The joy of riling pre-pubescence up.

Hey, Matt, d'you think her handle could be a Steely Dan reference? Now that would be just plain disturbing for a 12 yr old.

You can't stay in hiding forever! Come back, baby!

Francis Watlington (Francis Watlington), Friday, 21 November 2003 15:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Clearly it's love.

"You can't walk in and be CEO of a corporation if you don't know anything about the corporation,"

That's the problem I have with celebrities who want to be politicians.. Not that they're celebrities, but that they start at the top rung, instead of proving their worth at a lower level. Run for city council or school board first. It's not as glamorous, but some experience would be useful.

dave225 (Dave225), Friday, 21 November 2003 16:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Since when did politicians need experience of anything?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Friday, 21 November 2003 16:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey, he's running for Lt. Guv'ner ain't he? Quit yer bellyaching or run against him.

Dylan Carlson for Kings County Comptroller!

Ian Christe (Ian Christe), Friday, 21 November 2003 17:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Since when did politicians need experience of anything?

Ask Arnold. Or George W. You don't need experience to get elected. But it wouldn't hurt once you get into office. (Doesn't have to be political experience. But bassplayer/least-talented-guy-in-band doesn't qualify you for redistricting the state.)

dave225 (Dave225), Friday, 21 November 2003 17:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, I started a parallel thread on ILE just because the topic fell right on the fence, and apparently, as mentioned in that thread, Krist has been dabbling in politics for a while. He spoke in Portland recently.

donut bitch (donut), Friday, 21 November 2003 18:07 (twenty-two years ago)

What's the Lt. Guv'ner? The guy who handles the troops?

mrjackhandey (mrjackhandey), Friday, 21 November 2003 19:47 (twenty-two years ago)

(correct me if your not the one who posted about the Killing Joke show Aja)

Yeah that's me.

(Francis, Aja is twelve years old I think, so it's pretty amazing that she knows/cares who Greg Norton is)

The only reason I know who he is, is beacause my mom is a huge Husker Du fan.

Aja (aja), Saturday, 22 November 2003 02:41 (twenty-two years ago)

as well she should be. Are you a fan?

Matt Helgeson (Matt Helgeson), Saturday, 22 November 2003 04:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Not really. I haven't heard much of their music though so I can't really say. I did like the Foo Fighters' cover of "Never Talking to You Again" though.
