lets burn the mastertapes of every Christmas number 1

i know there is supposed to be something nice about the familiarity of the Christmas airplay (wizard, slade, cliff richard, east 17) but the exposure the same songs get every year by my calculations adds up to an average of 1,367,439 weeks at number 1. Im begging to feel nausious every time noddy holder screams "its Christmas". Also, even the artists you'd expect to make a good job of a Christmas single, such as mr lennon and mr mccartney, obviously could only have spent a combined total with a rhyming dictionary and kazoo to produce those diabolical efforts. My suggestion is that we have a big bonfire and burn every Christmas compilation ever made and all of the master tapes and then force Noddy to record a Christmas single written by Jim O'Rourke called "there's no Christmas like a Christmas when every copy of slade's infamous single is destroyed."

anyone with me?

Don't burn the PSBs' Always On My Mind. Otherwise, OK.

Merrrrrr, or "Sound Of The Underground".

Or "Don't You Want Me?" either.

I just saw a video of Jessica Simpson and Nich Lachey zealously oversinging "O Holy Night," and it made me,....well, it almost made me as mad as this.....

Second that preservation effort for the Human League and the PSB. But don't you go burning "Bohemian Rhapsody" [ducks and flips off critics] or The Beatles' "Hello Goodbye", "Day Tripper / We Can Work It Out", "I Feel Fine", or "I Want To Hold Your Hand "

Also Elvis Presley's "Return To Sender" -- he was good to his momma -- or Conway Twitty's "It's Only Make Believe" -- even with a Slow Hand he could still kick your ass.

Yeah, Pet Shop Boys/Girls Aloud/Human League must be saved. Also, I can't condone anything which involves "2 Become 1" being burnt.

Excuse that wacked-out cut and paste post of mine above!!!

We've got to add Bohemian Rhapsody into it. Or at least the bit where everybody always does air guitar. also add brian may's haircut.

Anyone hear Bruce Dickinson's rendition of "Bohemian Rhapsody" (as a duet with some opera singer)? Now, dont' get me wrong -- I love Iron Maiden -- but it's utterly, unforgivably, bad

Only three weeks ago, I heard the Slade, East 17 and Wizzard tracks for the first time. In fact, previous to three weeks ago, I had never heard a single song by any of those bands.

What about that George Michaels song? "Last Christmas" or whatever.

Great favs of mine(Roy Wood & Wizzard, Slade), but I agree their Xmas stuff and ALL OTHER XMAS MUSAK should be exterminated completely!
