scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 21:35 (twenty-two years ago)

cutty (mcutt), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 21:36 (twenty-two years ago)

okay, i put Static Age on. where is my Youth Of Today record?

really loud obnoxious music is great house cleaning music. i always thought.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 21:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Uncle Jam Wants You!, or The Archies' Greatest Hits, if you can tell them apart.

Begs2Differ, Wednesday, 4 February 2004 21:43 (twenty-two years ago)

damn! they're back already. that was quick. but the little lady has left again, so it's just me and baby. little ears are resilient, no? baby loves the new Unsane best-of by the way.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 21:45 (twenty-two years ago)

The first CD from the Slayer box. Five Starcle Men. I have cats and they no longer mind the really loud noise. They did, at first. Then they became acclimated, or deaf.

George Smith, Wednesday, 4 February 2004 21:58 (twenty-two years ago)

cats are kinda like babies, right?

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 22:15 (twenty-two years ago)

oh yeah baby

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 22:22 (twenty-two years ago)

i should put on the Josie & The Pussycats soundtrack for baby Rufus. he would like that.

who are Toshimaru Nakamura & Tetuzi Akiyama? are they noise demons?

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 22:22 (twenty-two years ago)

WOLF EYES

Jon Williams (ex machina), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 22:22 (twenty-two years ago)

The Prodigy's 'Fat of the Land' is the ultimate music to vacuum to.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 22:23 (twenty-two years ago)

baby would love lemmy. baby loves bass for some reason. i think i have ace of spades around somewhere.

we actually have wolf eyes AND the prodigy in the house. we are well equipped apparently.

Jon Williams-sorry i said i didn't care for that unwound singles album the other day, i wasn't trying to harsh your mellow. i love the albums so much i thought for sure i would like that one just as much.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 22:26 (twenty-two years ago)

I GET WET

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 22:27 (twenty-two years ago)

cats are kinda like babies, right?

I'm not going near that. They do frighten easily, though.

George Smith, Wednesday, 4 February 2004 22:27 (twenty-two years ago)

i split the difference and put on some Converge.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 4 February 2004 22:31 (twenty-two years ago)

jet boy jet girl

Eisbär (llamasfur), Thursday, 5 February 2004 02:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Mainliner - Mellow Out.
Third Eye Foundation - Ghost.

Dr. Annabel Lies (Michael Kelly), Thursday, 5 February 2004 04:09 (twenty-two years ago)

that one song that goes "unnnnngggghhh EIGHTIES!!! I'm living in the EIGHTIES!!!!!"

Alex must not be around. That song is called "Eighties".

If that song is played really lound, it can be very annoying. Why didn't I think of that the first time I saw this thread?

The only thing I can think of is "Monkey Wrench"

Aja (aja), Thursday, 5 February 2004 04:14 (twenty-two years ago)

"wardance" is also a good one to blast and scream along to.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Thursday, 5 February 2004 04:17 (twenty-two years ago)

HUSKER DU

Jazzbo (jmcgaw), Thursday, 5 February 2004 13:16 (twenty-two years ago)

I hope they've returned by now.

dave225 (Dave225), Thursday, 5 February 2004 13:18 (twenty-two years ago)

oh yeah, they are here. now we are just listening to the radio. and baby is playing with a scratched up patti smith album on the floor.

every week baby and me go to music class and i dance in a circle with 15 mothers and their kids. i'm the only dad there. we sing and dance and bang on drums. they don't play Unsane in music class though.

scott seward (scott seward), Thursday, 5 February 2004 13:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Most of the answers would fit in "Nathalie's in the house, what should I play???" Anal Cunt? Wipers? BRING IT ON!

nathalie (nathalie), Thursday, 5 February 2004 13:33 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www2.tokai.or.jp/moon-rise/sub400/sub406/trout%20mask%20replica.JPG

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 5 February 2004 13:34 (twenty-two years ago)

"cats are kinda like babies, right?"

Hmmm, so based on our cats I'd say Mark could be right and Trout Mask Replica's the one to go for....

"baby loves bass for some reason."

Ah well then, in that case the answer's obvious innit?

You need some King Tubby, with the volume turned up so high that the windows rattle in time with the bass!

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Thursday, 5 February 2004 13:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Rufus is only 14 months old, and he has already heard more Captain Beefheart than most people will ever hear in their entire lives. Have there been studies? what do you think will happen to him?

scott seward (scott seward), Thursday, 5 February 2004 13:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Our alice's middle name is Ella. (sneaked that one in...)

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 5 February 2004 13:43 (twenty-two years ago)

"Rufus is only 14 months old, and he has already heard more Captain Beefheart than most people will ever hear in their entire lives. Have there been studies? what do you think will happen to him?"

I dunno, but Graham Johnston's son Reuben must be about the same age - so there could be the makings for a self-help play-group....

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Thursday, 5 February 2004 13:50 (twenty-two years ago)

If that song is played really lound, it can be very annoying.

What the hell are you talking about? The instances in which "Eighties" is played really loudly are the only times I actually consider the existence of a benevolent deity.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 5 February 2004 14:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Ooh Ooh.

World Domination Enterprises - "Catalogue Clothes"

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 5 February 2004 14:58 (twenty-two years ago)

What the hell are you talking about? The instances in which "Eighties" is played really loudly are the only times I actually consider the existence of a benevolent deity.

You must be deaf, either that or under Jaz Coleman's powers.

Aja (aja), Friday, 6 February 2004 05:38 (twenty-two years ago)

seven months pass...
SOUTH. OF. HEAVEN.!! (at the moment)

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 27 September 2004 19:55 (twenty-one years ago)

it's really really loud.

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 27 September 2004 19:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I got the new Isis in the mail. But is it gonna be loud enough?

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 27 September 2004 20:01 (twenty-one years ago)

"Damn If Feels Good to be A Gangsta" by the Geto Boys right now....although the baby's wit'me (the wife's out, tho').

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 27 September 2004 20:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Does Charlotte have any preferences for anything. Alex?

Okay, I think this new Isis will do nicely.

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 27 September 2004 20:05 (twenty-one years ago)

She's responded favorably to: the Clash, the Stones and Kraftwerk....otherwise, she doesn't immediately appear to be fussed.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 27 September 2004 20:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually, she's responding quite favorably to "Made You Look" by Nas right now. Oddly. Or maybe she's just amused by my needless whiteboy gesticulations.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 27 September 2004 20:08 (twenty-one years ago)

The Libertines just came on....and now she's crying. Haha. The votes are in.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 27 September 2004 20:08 (twenty-one years ago)

hahaha!

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 27 September 2004 20:09 (twenty-one years ago)

She's enjoying my air-drumming, though. Ah, this is parenting at its veritable zenith.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 27 September 2004 20:10 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah, rufus loves it whenever i act like an idiot. which is fairly often.

damn, that first isis track was kicking my butt. alex, have you heard them? you might dig it. pretty guitar parts plus lots of volume and crunch.

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 27 September 2004 20:12 (twenty-one years ago)

they really don't sound as much like latter-day Neurosis like they did on the last one. they've come into their own.

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 27 September 2004 20:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I have a friend who swears by Isis, but I've never checked'em out. I liked a bit of Neurosis (I quite like Souls at Zero) but was never a huge fan.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 27 September 2004 21:56 (twenty-one years ago)

It's heavy stuff. Long songs. I'm a big fan of the last 3 or 4 Neurosis albums. Especially A Sun That Never Sets. It's my kinda dirge & plod. And quite lovely at times too. (my love for this kinda stuff just comes from my love for latter-day Swans records. and my love for latter-day Swans records just come from Black Sabbath. it's the circle of life.)

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 27 September 2004 22:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I prefer latter-day Swans, actually (we're talking, like, White Light From the Mouth of Infinty, Love of Life, etc.)

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 27 September 2004 22:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, exactly. That's the stuff i live on. as much as i like the old stuff, from children of god on is the stuff that i listen to way way more. white light.. is one of my favorite albums ever.

scott seward (scott seward), Monday, 27 September 2004 22:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Good cleaning music, that is also completely disagreeable to other people would be the Pan Sonic / Bruce Gilbert collaboration; 'IBM: The Oval Recordings'.

Sasha (sgh), Tuesday, 28 September 2004 00:40 (twenty-one years ago)
