I'm going to the Barras in Glasgow to see this, April 3rd. I, along with everyone else here [I think], *love* LCD soundsystem and I'm totally gutted about them playing the ATP weekend I'm not going to so this will make up for that. I haven't been this excited about seeing a band for a looooooooong time. Hooray!

Soulwax = meh

According to Popbitch Stephen DeWaele was beaten up outside a DFA party. There's a new record coming out this year. Finally. I think Flood and Sardy (second time?) produced it.

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 11 March 2004 16:55 (twenty-two years ago)

i mean canada

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 11 March 2004 16:55 (twenty-two years ago)

considering that people were ready to lynch the promoters in miami after the fiasco that was the 2003 winter music conference edition of return to new york, i doubt they're going to make any ambitious travel plans any time soon.

lauren (laurenp), Thursday, 11 March 2004 17:12 (twenty-two years ago)

why what happened?

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 11 March 2004 17:14 (twenty-two years ago)

they're inept, creepy people with no idea how to run things and fond of pulling bone-headed moves like running off flyers/lineups without actually confirming people first. at wmc they neglected to provide a proper pa for bands or make sure the house crew was adequate, so no one could go on until 3am. they're fucking jerks, basically.

lauren (laurenp), Thursday, 11 March 2004 17:20 (twenty-two years ago)

yeh i'll be amazed if everyone on the line-up actually appears but i think i'll check it out anyway

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 11 March 2004 17:39 (twenty-two years ago)

lauren - i had a so so time in miami. 'twas great to see you and several other wonderful people. great to expose my legs and get in the sea for the first time in oh, at least a decade. great to see the rapture (aka the ben rhymer band). not so good missing lcd soundsystem as it coincided with my set, nearly getting into a fight with a spitroast brother and having a massive run in with the RTNY promoter when i told him i wouldn't play at one of his parties because they look like a crock of shit to me. miami seems to me to bring out the worst in people.

next year i think i'll go to blackpool instead.

stirmonster, Thursday, 11 March 2004 18:42 (twenty-two years ago)

best set i saw in miami -> kurtis blow w/ crafty cuts. so much fun!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Thursday, 11 March 2004 18:43 (twenty-two years ago)

return to blackpool!

lauren (laurenp), Thursday, 11 March 2004 18:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Can I just reiterate how excited I am about going to this?

I am very very very very very excited about going to this.

hmmm (hmmm), Thursday, 18 March 2004 09:55 (twenty-one years ago)

It's this weekend!

Has anyone seen *any* publicity for this whatsoever? I ain't seen jack.

hmmm (hmmm), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 08:22 (twenty-one years ago)

HOW COME GOOD BANDS PLAY ON YOUR SHITHOLE ISLAND?

Lil' Won Jilliams (ex machina), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 10:00 (twenty-one years ago)

There's some publicity here in the Netherlands, where both are playing the small (still: 3 days) "Nu Heroes" festival in the Tivoli club in Utrecht. I'll be seeing/dancing to them next friday, when Chicks On Speed and Peaches are on the menu as well.

willem (willem), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 10:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I got three tickets, yesterday.

N. told me he already had his, last night.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 13:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I told you weeks ago!

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 13:41 (twenty-one years ago)

it's okay.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 13:53 (twenty-one years ago)

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 13:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe I just implied it.
