Dadaismus (Dada), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 12:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Surely you mean "Which was has Steve Peregrine taken?"?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 12:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Has the one on the right just nicked the one on the left's syrup?

This year Graham Oliver, guitarist and founder member of Saxon will be a regular member of the band. He will play along side Alan Silson (Smokie), Paul Fenton (Christie, Marc Bolan & T-Rex), Rob Benson, Tony Allday and Dave Major. The stars play Marc Bolan & T-Rex

its sort of like 'the berlin philharmonic orchestra plays the beatles' isn't it?

sort of.

or is it more like boney m?

hobart paving (hobart paving), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 13:05 (twenty-two years ago)

They could put on a festival consisting of

18.00 Christie
19.00 Smokie
20.30 Saxon
22.00 T-Rex

and they would never have to leave the stage... any of them...

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 13:10 (twenty-two years ago)

It would appear that this is in fact the remnants of the band formerly known as "Mickey Finn's T-Rex" - now minus Mr. Finn for obvious reasons - and that their only tenuous link to T-Rex is a (session?) drummer who appeared on a couple of relatively unimportant, post-peak T-Rex albums (Bolan's Zip Gun (1975) and Futuristic Dragon (1976) anyone?).

It would have been more appropriate for them to have called themselves either Saxon or Smokie, since at least they include an original member of each of those bands (Graham Oliver and Alan Silson respectively)!

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 13:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey, there's nothing unimportant about Zip-Gun :

1) Mickey Finn is on a couple tracks
2) Gloria Jones
3) Marc signed this album for me. Personally.

I think Ned's fainted and is still unconcious, lying on the floor next to his computer, unable to post... Somebody wake him up please, to see if he's alright!

willem (willem), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 13:29 (twenty-two years ago)

How many members of T-Rex does it take to change a light bulb?

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 13:34 (twenty-two years ago)

ans: They're not changing the light bulb, they're holding a torch against it and pretending it's still going....!!!!....!

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 13:35 (twenty-two years ago)

No, I'd heard about this. I larf and shrug.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 14:17 (twenty-two years ago)

i listened to 'Main Man' t'other day, but as a fan of mindless dance music i must say i found it initially plesant but a bit too repetetive

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 14:40 (twenty-two years ago)
