my sister is having a 21st birthday party and i can handle the early evening standing around music and the late night youth dancing but what about the mid way through the night my-slightly-drunk-50-something-australian-parents-and-their-friends-dancing music?

my mum has requested:
beyonce - crazy in love, dandy warhols - bohemian like me, some acdc and easybeats and 2 yrs ago they danced at my 21st party to the monkees and david bowie.

name lots of songs you think would fit the bill, ESPECIALLY big hits!

madness - any single. undertones - teenage kicks. elo - dont bring me down. making plans for nigel - xtc. trex - any of the big uns.
they may be Old to you whippersnappers, but they should still feel the groove of some fine classics ..

Old folks shouldn't have any trouble getting into disco. This tends to go over well with the parents as well as the grandparents.

she hates abba and fun and 'disco' but actually likes quite a lot of disco songs if you don't tell her they're disco.

gang of four "to hell with poverty". Ok, it has a disco beat, but drunk parents like easy chorus lines.
