Looks like someone needs to tell me how use the search function. Sorry.
But that CD is still shite.

Not a fan of the single., but I like the remix record. Anyone else heard that?

I think The Printz has some serious flaws, but it's a fun and interesting disc. I really don't get the hate going on -- some explain it to me in words other than "this sucks", please.

see the first paragraph of my review. Bumblebeez 81 on one level DEFINES "played out."

CeCe Peniston (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 30 July 2004 17:02 (twenty-one years ago)

It's a really difficult listen without enough reward. For every few seconds of brilliance, there are three minutes of unlistenable shit. A lot of it just sounds really amateurish.

Talent Explosion (Talent Explosion), Friday, 30 July 2004 17:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd agree to a certain extent, Anthony, but you do go on to give plenty of reasons why it's a good record, too -- like its
"inexplicable energy".

TE, I don't find too much that's unlistenable aside from ViLa's awful rapping (which is somewhat pervasive). I'd describe my response as a fun listen despite periodic crap. I'd also say that sounding amateurish doesn't necessarily prevent a group from sounding good.

JC-L (JC-L), Friday, 30 July 2004 17:14 (twenty-one years ago)

By "amateurish," I meant that it sounds like something I'd get on a CD-R given to me by a band playing at a house party. 99% of the time, they're awful.

Talent Explosion (Talent Explosion), Friday, 30 July 2004 18:08 (twenty-one years ago)

btw the remix record has remixes by Photek and M83 and V On The Radio (weird)

artdamages (artdamages), Friday, 30 July 2004 18:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Are the re-mixes more or less of a mess than the originals? By "mess" I mean the intentional chaos.

JC-L (JC-L), Friday, 30 July 2004 18:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Well I have only heard the single off the album because my radio station never got it (yet managed to get this remix lp).

The remixes, well the Photek and M83 ones, sound like the groups themselves w/annoying bits from Bumblebeez mixed in. But somehow this works.
