M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Friday, 6 August 2004 18:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 6 August 2004 18:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Frankly, I have my doubts.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 6 August 2004 18:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Wait'll I tell Wifey!!

roger adultery (roger adultery), Friday, 6 August 2004 18:48 (twenty-one years ago)

What track does he cover?

I' ve not heard this but I have vague memories of hearing about it and I think it's Is This Love.

OCP (OCP), Friday, 6 August 2004 18:59 (twenty-one years ago)

As long as it's better than the Pat Travers Band version, I'm in...

Frankly, I have my doubts

Ned's holding out for a Jandek cover of Peter Tosh.

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Friday, 6 August 2004 19:00 (twenty-one years ago)

it's "Babylon System," btw, but he also throws in some Nilsson for good measure. It's GOOD I tells ya!

roger adultery (roger adultery), Friday, 6 August 2004 19:20 (twenty-one years ago)

What label is this on?

morris pavilion (samjeff), Friday, 6 August 2004 19:21 (twenty-one years ago)

i haven't heard it but i know it isn't because II-IX is the most beautiful song of all time and there is no way that this can be better.

jed (jed_e_3), Friday, 6 August 2004 19:22 (twenty-one years ago)

how does one go about buying this?

matthew james (matthew james), Thursday, 12 August 2004 22:32 (twenty-one years ago)

It's a tour-only EP... I would love to hear this. Damn it. How is "Brightblack"? (which is a really cool band name, I think)

Softly Weeping at the Oki Dog (Ben Boyer), Thursday, 12 August 2004 23:13 (twenty-one years ago)

"Lullaby" - has Oldham ever done anything with an electronic beat before? This is crazy (and fantastic)

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Friday, 13 August 2004 01:40 (twenty-one years ago)

American Gothic Disco

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Friday, 13 August 2004 01:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Brightblack's first song ("I Kill Therefore I Am") starts off with a Phil Ochs clip and slips into a Oldham-esque (but dirtier and dronier) dirge. Very promising.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Friday, 13 August 2004 01:46 (twenty-one years ago)

for 'lectrics a single from last year, 'happy child'/'forest time' was done with tweaker and is electronic and great. also, arise, therefore, obviously.

matthew james (matthew james), Friday, 13 August 2004 19:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, he had "Today I Started Celebrating Again" on Grand Royal's "At Home with the Groovebox" comp.
