found this cd used awhile ago. there are pics inside where you can see just how freaky the bass players (guy on the right) hair really is. it's like he shaved the hairline back on the sides of his head.

and "Rock n' Roll Enemy No. 1" is classic.

SAN FRANCISCO'S *STILL* DOOMED is great. Some bonus tracks might sound non-essential to anyone who can actually find the original, but I'm more than happy to have it all. check swamirecords.com

Good news for luckless bastards like me who've been waiting YEARS to hear this stuff! (Hope it doesn't disappoint.)

buy the damn record, it's great. if only they'd get all of the singles on a cd, 8 track, 10", something.

seven months pass...
People don't realize this, but The Clash came to San Francisco (Automat) to mix/master their second album "Give em Enough Rope", and while they were here they went to some shows at the Mabuhay Gardens, and saw CRIME. The very next year you see the Clash wearing badges, uniforms and other government issue regalia (a shift from London's ripped & torn look). Also, Strummer picked up his whole "greaser" vibe from visiting the East Bay Area, (says producer Sandy Pearlman in MOJO #112).

Now, I don't know exactly what the *musical* influences were...

IMO it's just OK unfortunately. I wouldn't get too impatient.

Crime may have made the best punk single ever, but their catalog is honestly kinda shallow.

I traded Bullet for Hot Wire My Heart many years ago, and I still think I got the best end of that deal.
