holy fucking shit. can you email me at coolkidofdeath@aol.com, gareth (??) ...

naw, the early 'experimental' electronic stuff - whilst historical, never really got me. i'm into moog albums lately though. they are more fun to listen to.

doomie x, Friday, 5 November 2004 23:36 (twenty years ago)

err ... got him mixed up with raymond scott. am reading the mort thread now, man.

you should get some jean claude vannier.

hey, when yoo guys buy any new/old vinyl, make a note of it here:

Rolling 2004 Vinyl Thread

I'm always curious.

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 5 November 2004 23:42 (twenty years ago)

will do - the only vinyl purchases of note have been copper plated intergrated circuit, fifty foot hose and ultimate spinach.

doomie x, Friday, 5 November 2004 23:45 (twenty years ago)

I love the first two Ultimate Spinach. Some people write them off as corny exploito-psych, but I think they are wonderful. The 3rd one is horrible though.

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 5 November 2004 23:50 (twenty years ago)

am just getting into them ... i think its the first one - its got a big spinach on the cover! but corny exploito-psych is the best. 'i got a letter from lbj'

hey, i'm interviewing joey stec on monday. that will be weird.

doomie x, Friday, 5 November 2004 23:52 (twenty years ago)

its funny you should mention ultimate spinach, i have been wondering about them recently, i'd like to hear them

i will mail you as soon as the terry durham appears. i have already been stung once with this, i dont want to count any chickens till they hatch!

you would love mort garson, i am sure of that. i am completely obsessed now, he is taking up about 70% of my listening

i'll check out vannier

*@*.* (gareth), Friday, 5 November 2004 23:52 (twenty years ago)

vannier is worth it - he arranged all the strings on melody nelson. the album i have is like that, more horror-psych and has that choral voices thing going on like komeda's fearless vampire killers.

hey you guys should hear PREY - cherrystones and barry 7's band. it has that weird electronic moog sound combined with exploitation era morricone with suicide mixed in. i was bugging alan to release it but i don't think it will happen. but its so so so crazy. i can mp3 you if you.

doomie x, Friday, 5 November 2004 23:54 (twenty years ago)

the second Ultimate Spinach is my fave, Behold And See. But the first one is lovely as well. "Ballad Of The Hip Death Goddess"! Can't beat that title.

that it is - have guys, have you heard of DORIS, this swedish songstress - released this album 'did you give the world some love today'?

doomie x, Friday, 5 November 2004 23:57 (twenty years ago)

oh yeah, scott, i picked up the tree - on the shore and a bunch of jacques dutronc 7s. both worthwhile if you haven't picked them up - which you probably have.
