White nationalists worldwide have been hearing a lot lately about the talented Prussian Blue: a pro-White folk music team whose new CD on Resistance is generating a lot of talk. Prussian Blue consists of twins Lynx and Lamb, twelve year olds who are also effective activists. They will be one of the headliners at Folk The System 2004.

Saw them in the Louis Theroux documentry. They're pretty much straight out of American History X. Scary stuff.

nothing on slsk yet. gotta get some mp3s of this.

They cover "Das Panzerlied," I'm guessing from the American performance of it, sent into everyone's consciousness by "The Battle of the Bulge" movie. You know the one, the movie that starts with American tanks as Tigers in the snow of the Ardennes and Richard Shaw as the nutty panzer leader. Then it magically morphs into a tank battle in the Texan desert for the climax.

Here are MP3's of it. The third version is probably the one they used.
As music for beerhall drinking and marching, transforming it into white power folk is something for an even bigger joke than "A Mighty Wind."

the story sucks btw

Isn't that the nature of the beast? Vice: magazine that devotes itself to the superficial scrutiny of stupid people, in case you don't already have enough stupid people in your life, or hold fast to the belief that they are hard to find or unique in the United States.

George Smith, Friday, 26 November 2004 21:26 (twenty-one years ago)

The sidebar ad for Diesel.com on the Vice site is a bit disconcerting with the 9/11 reference in the story.

But are they any good?

There's a lot of MP3's of folklieds from the Third Reich on-line. Download it and imagine it being sung by two little girls with guitar and fiddle, instead of oompah orchestra and beer hall military chorus. There's you answer.

George Smith, Friday, 26 November 2004 23:22 (twenty-one years ago)

no, that won't do. I MUST hear this.

Roger Fidelity (Roger Fidelity), Saturday, 27 November 2004 01:21 (twenty-one years ago)

I think it is an important story, for what it's worth. Something terrible is happening to these girls, and I think that trying to understand it, and the roots of fascism, is incredibly important. Investigating the story while smirking and giggling, pretending that fascism is a fashion accessory like emo glasses however, is incredibly dud. The people that are doing this to these girls are the kind of people that would inflict misery and death upon millions.

Kevin Gilchrist (Mr Fusion), Saturday, 27 November 2004 01:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I think it is an important story, for what it's worth. Something terrible is happening to these girls, and I think that trying to understand it, and the roots of fascism, is incredibly important.

Yeah, that's an easy one. Who thinks their kids ought to be raised as neo-Nazis? Let's see the hands. C'mon, there's no shortage of writings on the "roots of fascism" and the neo-Nazi movement in the United States. Prussian Blue is an extremely infinitesimal component of it. Spend some time looking at Panzerfaust Records if you need an example of extremist psychosis in larger numbers.

Or, speaking of National Vanguard -- the original publicity point for this: Do you even know what it is? Buy a copy of "The Turner Diaries"
if you want the flavor and roots of the neo-Nazi movement, not this silly crap.

Investigating the story while smirking and giggling, pretending that fascism is a fashion accessory like emo glasses however, is incredibly dud. The people that are doing this to these girls are the kind of people that would inflict misery and death upon millions.

On the barometer of neo-Nazi fiendishness, they don't scale well next to the Timothy McVeighs or Richard Butlers. I'm sure they've been picked by the Lerouxs, VH1s and Vices of the world because they don't require work to profile. And it is done for for entertainment purposes; it's the business of American TV and print corporations to find fringe or stupidly nauseating fuckheads who can be clucked over or collected as a novelty piece of risible shit.

It's difficult to take the brains of anyone seriously who would re-record "Das Panzerlied" because they think it has something to do with neo-Nazi white power.

And there's no indication they've actually sold any CDs at all.

The FBI regularly arrests neo-Nazis but you don't read about them in Vice because they're too depressing and unexciting. Oh, they took in a guy who was stockpiling dynamite and ammunition -- that's not as cool or interesting as two ridiculous little girls.

George Smith, Saturday, 27 November 2004 02:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I want to tell you all about a guy called BOWIE. He, too, embraced fascism circa Station to Station, even saying this to say about der Fuehrer:
"Adolf Hitler was one of the first rock stars. Look at some of his films and see how he moved. I think he was quite as good as Jagger."
However, he eventually saw the error of his ways and went on to make some pretty great albums. So I'm not writing off Prussian Blue just yet.

Klamm, Saturday, 27 November 2004 03:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't think those little 12 year-old girls are fucked up on cocaine, to be honest.

MC Transmaniacon (natepatrin), Saturday, 27 November 2004 03:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, even saying this to say. MC, crystal meth more likely.

Klamm, Saturday, 27 November 2004 03:24 (twenty-one years ago)

but these neo-fascists or whatever they are take their opinions so damn seriously (just like republicans and democrats) that you just have to laugh (otherwise you'll cry).

I know the "D" in "C or D" doesn't stand for "destroy", but it wouldn't make much sense to say that it's "classic to dud them" and... oh nevermind.

Nancy Boy (Nancy Boy), Saturday, 27 November 2004 07:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Still waiting on mp3s. I'd much rather send more money to Herman Dune than to the estate of the late Dr Pierce, so come on, somebody, make with the piracy.

Roger Fidelity (Roger Fidelity), Saturday, 27 November 2004 08:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I wouldn't worry about that. Lots of people from the ADL, Southern Poverty Law Center, government, academia and the FBI have bought stuff from them over the years without turning into ogres or noticeably contributing to neo-Mazism.
