First, thanks for your patience. We're now down to the last 8 people in the first round, so it's a good time to get the list together for round 2.

I need everyone who wants to participate (I mean EVERYONE, regardless of whether you participated in the first round) to check in here and let me know that you're (still) interested.

I'm going to be staggering the places in the queue between people who haven't gone yet and people who will be going a second time. So the list will look like this:

1) ilxor going for the first time
2) ilxor going for the second time
3) ilxor going for the first time
4) ilxor going for the second time

...and so on. I'll try to keep it in some sort of chronological order though (based on the order in which you signed up).

Everyone who signs up today (and probably tomorrow too) will be assured a turn. I'll close the list once we've got enough names for two 80-minute CDs (give or take a few people).

I realized my entry was crap, so I'll pass.

But if anyone needs server space for his/her MP3: EMAIL ME the track.

How long do the tracks have to remain online btw?

stevie nixed (stevie nixed), Monday, 21 February 2005 12:32 (twenty years ago)

I will claim the second spot!

Stevie: I wanna keep the Disc 1 tracks up until March 11, and the Disc 2 tracks up for one month after that disc is finished.

can we make the theme for the third one "gonzo music compilation" in honor of hst?

basquiat (disco stu), Monday, 21 February 2005 14:31 (twenty years ago)

I'd like to sign up, even though I've not been paying attention and have very little idea what's going on. Generally.

coco, Monday, 21 February 2005 14:31 (twenty years ago)

What is the theme anyway?

hasn't been decided yet. but "gonzo music" might be a little too similar to "chutzpah."

christo and jeanne-claude (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 21 February 2005 15:04 (twenty years ago)

i just wanna say that if you do sign up, please take it upon yourself to keep abreast of what's happening with this -- look at the blog, look at the various threads, be aware of when your turn is. and don't sign up if you're not going to take this seriously (thankfully, nearly everyone has taken it seriously so far).

christo and jeanne-claude (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 21 February 2005 15:10 (twenty years ago)

Can I take it dressed in a clown suit?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 21 February 2005 15:14 (twenty years ago)

Don't mind if i do

gregor vox (Gregor Vox), Monday, 21 February 2005 15:50 (twenty years ago)

Actually, if the theme's going to be gonzo, I don't think I'd be able to make a strong contribution.

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Monday, 21 February 2005 16:05 (twenty years ago)

I want to sign up for 3

donut debonair (donut), Monday, 21 February 2005 16:09 (twenty years ago)

(first time as well)

donut debonair (donut), Monday, 21 February 2005 16:10 (twenty years ago)

OH YOU THINK THAT WILL HELP YOU.

Actually it will.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 21 February 2005 16:21 (twenty years ago)

Actually, I better not.

I'd take it seriously, but I'm notoriously unorganised, so I'd probably end up going on holiday an hour and a half before my turn.

coco, Monday, 21 February 2005 16:27 (twenty years ago)

I would like to 'do it again'.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 21 February 2005 16:34 (twenty years ago)

yay, robag wruhme reference on thread.

okay, gonzo is too close to chutzpah, i agree. nix that idea.

how about "my computer" for a theme?

basquiat (disco stu), Monday, 21 February 2005 16:50 (twenty years ago)

if semi-lurkers are allowed then i'm in on this.

joseph (joseph), Monday, 21 February 2005 16:57 (twenty years ago)

Alienation
Catatonia
Euphoria
Insanity

Alba (Alba), Monday, 21 February 2005 16:57 (twenty years ago)

eh? I kinda thought "gonzo" was an interesting theme myself, and i was going to volunteer to go first on that theme..

but ah well.

donut debonair (donut), Monday, 21 February 2005 16:58 (twenty years ago)

i like catatonia. but how will we decide?

basquiat (disco stu), Monday, 21 February 2005 17:21 (twenty years ago)

i'll sign up in the hope that somehow i can hear loads of new music between now and the time i go so i have something interesting to contribute. this blog will light some sort of fire under my slsk-abusing ass.

Sven Bastard (blueski), Monday, 21 February 2005 18:57 (twenty years ago)

So far, "Voyeurism", "communication problems", and "my computer" are my favourites.

Kornél Kovács (Kornél Kovács), Monday, 21 February 2005 19:57 (twenty years ago)

I kinder had the idea that the top 40 from another world theme would go to 40 selections, and spread across two discs.

Austin (Austin), Monday, 21 February 2005 20:02 (twenty years ago)

so what's the theme then?

basquiat (disco stu), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 21:40 (twenty years ago)

The Obligatory Sourpuss (Begs2Differ), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 21:57 (twenty years ago)

as i said earlier, i quite like "i've got a secret."

jbr (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 21:57 (twenty years ago)

yeah, i'd go with that. dawson's would leave me stranded too...

mullygrubbr (bulbs), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 21:59 (twenty years ago)

yeah jbr, that's my favorite Fred Neil song, I think.

Oh wait, you meant some TV tie-in thing?

TOLD YOU BLOUNT

jbr (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 22:07 (twenty years ago)

jbr (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 22:09 (twenty years ago)

I vote for "I've Got a Secret," "Maximalism," or "Communication Problem" which would have to be retitled "Communication Breakdown".

Also Jody you might have to host a song for me, I got no fuckin' website.

The Obligatory Sourpuss (Begs2Differ), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 22:12 (twenty years ago)

"catatonia" - 1 vote
"i've got a secret" - 3 votes
"maximalism" - 1 vote

"voyeurism" - 1 vote

jbr (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 22:16 (twenty years ago)

"I've got a secret" and "my computer" are my faves.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 22:23 (twenty years ago)

I vote for "I've Got a Secret."

My second choice would be "Voyeurism," though.

Jeff Reguilon (Talent Explosion), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 22:23 (twenty years ago)

"i've got a secret" and "my computer" are very similar depending on how obliquely they're interpreted.

basquiat (disco stu), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 22:31 (twenty years ago)

hahaha

jbr (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 22:32 (twenty years ago)

basquiat (disco stu), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 22:32 (twenty years ago)

for some reason "my computer" makes me think of prince. either one of the themes would be fine with me.

basquiat (disco stu), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 22:36 (twenty years ago)

"i've got a secret" is in the lead, with "my computer" trailing by a nosehair.

jbr (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 22:45 (twenty years ago)
