Give me a CD I can listen to every day for a year

I've got a bit of a problem. I don't know how to best describe it, but for example...Frank Black's "Teenager of the Year" is a good CD...I picked it up at the same time that I got Drive Like Jehu's self-titled album, which is a GREAT cd. However, I find that I listen to "Teenager of the Year" almost daily, while I'm not often in the mood for Drive Like Jehu.

I want you guys to list a good album or two that are almost perfect for any mood, yet inaccessible enough to not get old after five or six listens. The Frank Black album would have been a great choice, but obviously, I already have it.

The Flaming Lips, "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" This one should be good for about 366 days or so. Poly-phenomenal!

Good call on The White Album and Bitches Brew. How about: Boredoms - Vision Creation Newsun?

If you like the Teenager of the Year style, you could probably stomach Guided by Voices - Alien Lanes on the daily.

poortheatre (poortheatre), Sunday, 27 February 2005 19:11 (twenty-one years ago)

As long as I'm flogging it in other threads today, I'll flog it here, too: Henry Threadgill Very Very Circus "Too Much Sugar For a Dime" I'm pretty sure I did listen to that one every day for a year. Beastie Boys' "Paul's Boutique" too.

steviespitfire, Wednesday, 6 April 2005 07:16 (twenty years ago)

Ill second the On the Corner response Im on about day 15 or so and I feel I could go all the way, I don't want to though. Well, all Miles fusion stuff is super for this I'd imagine but On the Corner seems to have the most stuff buried in there to discover with each listen.

I think any pop stuff would get old at least after two months no matter how good it is but who knows, try it out.
