Anyone wanna post some more album covers? I can't seem to find any decent pics right now and I have to be somewhere else in a minute here.

I don't want anyone to think her cover of "Wuthering Heights" has anything on Kate Bush's original, either.
Anyone wanna post more album covers? I can't seem to find any decent pics right now and I have to go out the door in a minute here.

OK, I've been reviving my beloved old vinyl copy of WIDE AWAKE IN DREAMLAND (1988), fully 20 years on - does nobody have anything good to say about that record?
But I've also just dug out my vinyl TROPICO! Just hope it isn't scratched, then I'll give that a good hearing in the next few days.
― the pinefox, Sunday, 9 November 2008 13:29 (sixteen years ago)
is Tropico the one to get then?
― baaderonixx, Sunday, 9 November 2008 13:34 (sixteen years ago)
No, don't let the thread author turn you into a chump. Get one of the many used copies of one of her greatest hits collections.
― Gorge, Sunday, 9 November 2008 20:28 (sixteen years ago)
why is it pat benatar makes girls think they can sing?

HELL...HELL IS FOR CHILDREN
My first introduction to this song was at church, watching a video about satanic messages in rock music. They took the title literally, of course. Never even bothered to dig the 1cm under the surface to figure out what the song's about.
Anyway, this sounds amazing at the moment.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 12 February 2013 23:28 (twelve years ago)
I sing "Invisible" at least once a week.
― the little prince of inane false binary hype (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 12 February 2013 23:29 (twelve years ago)

Invincible is inextricably linked to The Legend of Billie Jean for me, so whenever I listen to it I see Helen Slater walking down into the basement of that warehouse with a hundred kids cheering for her and all the girls looking like her own Billie Jean army.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 12 February 2013 23:35 (twelve years ago)
hell is for children rules so hardall Pat rules.
lately I've been feeling 'the Ooh Ooh Song'
― set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 12 February 2013 23:36 (twelve years ago)
Invincible is awesome and I have no idea about that movie at all, everyone tells me about it whenever that song comes up
― set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 12 February 2013 23:37 (twelve years ago)
I don't like easy listening jazzy Pat. But yeah, most Pat rules.

Benatar's hair, earrings, and coat in the "Invincible" video are extraordinary.
― the little prince of inane false binary hype (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 12 February 2013 23:40 (twelve years ago)
iirc she was about 6 mos pregnant when that video was made.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 12 February 2013 23:41 (twelve years ago)
My sister in-law was in a band 20 years ago and they did USO tours and played in weird places like Alaska, and one night they were playing a dive bar in Juneau, barely anyone there and they busted out a random Pat Benatar song for fun. (Heartbreaker I think but I'm not sure). Afterwards my sister in law walked up to the bar to get a drink and PAT BENATAR walked up to her and said 'Hey that was a pretty good version of me' and left
:D

I saw her in 2004 I think and I don't think it was till then that I ever really appreciated how great Neil Giraldo is. She made no bones about how much she hated the 'put another notch in my lipstick case' line of Hit Me With Your Best Shot, she made the audience sing that part, lol
― set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 12 February 2013 23:57 (twelve years ago)

"We Live For Love" – that vocal is scary! It's the sort of thing Kate Bush would try: singing like a synthesizer.
― the little prince of inane false binary hype (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Wednesday, 13 February 2013 20:16 (twelve years ago)
fair comparison given that Benatar gave Bush a nice stateside boost back in 1980

Picked up Crimes of Passion at the local thrift store today. Played it at very loud volume while drinking coffee and eating cake. Perfect Friday activity!

I couldn't imagine buying multiple Pat Benatar albums, but years ago I picked up a 20-track best-of at Target and that shit ruled front to back.
