Something in the way you love me won’t let me be
I don’t want to be your prisoner so baby won’t you set me free
Stop playing with my heart
Finish what you start
When you make my love come down
If you want me let me know
Baby let it show
Honey don’t you fool around

Just try to understand, I’ve given all I can,
’cause you got the best of me

Borderline... feels like I’m going to lose my mind
You just keep on pushing my love over the borderline

Radiohead - Vegetable

I never wanted anything like this
I worked hard, tried hard
I ran around in domestic bliss
I fought hard, died long

Every time you're running out of here
Every time you're running I get the fear

I never wanted any broken bones
Scarred face, no home
Your words surround me and asphyxiate
And I burn all hate

Every time you're running out on me
Every time you're running I can see

I'm not a vegetable
I will not control myself
I spit on the hand that feeds me
I will not control myself

The waters spray, the waters roll all over me
The waters spray, the waters roll on this tired [?]

I'm not a vegetable
I will not control myself
I spit on the hand that feeds me
I will not control myself

Onimo (GerryNemo), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 17:14 (twenty years ago)

Case inspires Escalon man

Escalon songwriter John Strand has composed another ballad ripped from the headlines. The 52-year-old prison guard has written "Who Will Feed Me?" about Terri Schiavo, the severely brain-damaged Florida woman who is the center of a right-to-die battle. Strand -- who also has written songs about Laci Peterson, Sept. 11 and the recent recall election -- wrote from Schiavo's perspective. The chorus is: "Who will feed me if I cannot feed myself? Who will love me when I'm fighting for my health? Who will touch me, me in your arms I pray you take. 'Cause I want to see your face again, the day that I awake." Strand called it "a pro-life song." It has been played on "Right On With Steve Wampler" on Oakdale's 770 AM radio. Tuesday, Strand performed on Sacramento's "Armstrong and Getty" talk show, simulcast on KQCA Television Channel 58 and radio station 650 AM, when the show was broadcast from Modesto. Schiavo's husband fought to have her feeding tube removed, saying his wife did not want to be kept alive artificially. Her parents dispute the claim and believe she could be rehabilitated.

Lump sat alone in a boggy marsh
Totally motionless except for her heart
Mud flowed up into lump's pyjammas
She totally confused all the passing piranhas

She's lump she's lump
She's in my head
She's lump she's lump she's lump
She might be dead

Lump lingered last in line for brains
And the ones she got were sorta rotten and insane
Small thing's so sad that birds could land
Is lump fast asleep or rockin' out with the band
