This is the thread for people who think that Missy/Ciara/Scoop on "Lose Control" should be the Jam of the Summer.

Forty listens and counting.
It's SO absorbing and catchy; like ear crack. I played this for a friend of mine and he came back the next day wanting to hear it again, ASAP.
Scoop is like sour cream, great in reasonable doses and nauseating otherwise; his work on this track is as good as in that other Beat Club Fave, "Drop".
I don't know. I just love it more than anything since Amerie.

Inspired, of course, by this thread, where you may still be able to find the song in question.
Why is THIS not the lead single, I axe ya?

Yeah, it's rocking my world. The fact that it's Cybotron reworked just makes me love it all the more!

Is this or "On & On" the first single? I had been hearing that it would be "On & On" but today on 106 & Park they said "Lose Control" will be the first single.

I still like "On & On" more.

I linked an mtv article on one of the other Missy threads that it had not been finalized which of the 2 songs would be the official single. I'm hoping it's "Lose Control" but I'm not super psyched about hearing either on the radio really.

musicmakeyoulosecontrol! musicmakeyoulosecontrol!

I love this, more than 'On & On', but 'On & On' feels like a lead single.

I'm really loving the ILM reaction to these tracks, the giddy exuberance and passion, but although I can hear why these tracks are great (and exciting), they're way too cold for me to listen to over-and-over, let alone imagine as Song Of The Summer mega-jams. The robotic/grime aspect of both songs are really harsh next to things like "Crazy in Love" or "One Thing"... "Yeah" and "In Da Club" are the best comparisons I can think of, but both of those had such a mega-driving beat so close to the front. These songs are both more complex/prog than that...

Am I the only one who feels this way?

i feel the exact same way

My droogs and I were listening to Fantasy the other day. I think it's better than the Tom Tom Club song. I can think of no higher praise-- none.

Mariah, come back, and use your insanity to fuel more genuine masterpieces.

It's as close as I'll get to my style Miami Bass, sans Fannypack's debut. The arrangement on it as superb. What really may be worth mentioning is not the fact that Clear was sampled, but it was sampled at a decent tempo, unlike all those mid to late 90's bass songs that boosted it up to 140+ bpm's.

My girlfriend loves this song and plays it constantly. I just love how crisp and clean "Clear" is. "Lose Control" is pretty sweaty and aggressive. I like "Clear" better, but I guess I only appreciate "Lose Control" for its ability to translate the "futurism funkiess" of "Clear" but significantly alter its intensity.
