so please help me. i like ashra's new age of earth, harmonia's de luxe, and ulrich schnauss's a strangely isolated place. any music that sounds like that anyone can recommend i'd greatly appreciate.

If you like experimental techno/electro/ambient, you should try the recordings of the Köln posse of Dr. Walker, Jammin' Unit, Khan and Kerosene (they have several pseudonyms, such as Unidentified Musical Objects [U.M.O.] and German Electronic Foundation). Especially worthy are the early nineties records of Air Liquide (Dr. Walker & Jammin' Unit); their "Nephology" is one of my favourite LPs ever.

If you like dub and minimalism, you can't go wrong with Nonplace Urban Field and Pole.

Driving to Cologne tonight with a friend. We both made a ~45min. compilation for the trip, this is mine (a bit educational/canonical perhaps, but he doesn't know most of the artists. and it's a great listen! :)
