anyway, posting again what i asked in the trapped thread but : how come TP3 hasn't leaked yet when we're less than a month before its official release ? was used to albums leaking months before their official release date...

a lot of rap/R&B albums shuffle around tracklists up to the last minute, so that even if it had leaked by now, it probably wouldn't be the accurate. this is the tracklist that was announced last month:

yeah, I think I'd prefer it maybe a little later in the album, but for some reason I think it makes sense to have it in the middle, rather than upfront or way at the end. sequencing the orig. and remix of "In The Kitchen" seperately but with only 2 songs between them is kinda weird, though.

after a couple listens, most of the tracks on the album that I hadn't heard already aren't really doing anything for me. a few might be growers, and I like the reggaeton track, but "Slow Wind" and the one w/ Elephant Man suck.

The reggaeton track is pretty bad, I mean, if you like reggaeton. I think the Elephant Man track is ok (I love R. Kelly dancehall), but shit, Elephant Man? They could give another Jamaican some work now and then. I laughed out loud at the title "Put My Shirt On." And at "Happy summertime, niggas!" Overall, I'm not feeling this as much as Happy People.

Miccio: "Kickin' it with your girlfriend" was a fave initially, 'cause I thought Kells was talking to one of his boys, saying "Hey, I'm sorry, I'm kickin' it with your girlfriend. Dude, I fucked up" a'la 'Jessie's Girl' NOT him talking to his own girl.
Relisten with the initial view in mind and see if the song doesn't improve. The idea of Kells writing a love song apologizing about sneaking around behind one of his boy's back with dude's girlfriend is supercool; the trad. Usher stylee somewhat less so.
In any case, I like this anyway. The Nivea song is fuckin' amazing tho'.

That 'initial concept' does sound more interesting but the lyrics are pretty specific in that he's talking to his own girl. I'd have to hit myself on the head with a brick or something not to notice it. the music is pretty dang similar to "confessions, pt.2" as well so basically the track, while professional, just makes me wish I was listening to Usher. Nothing else on the album does that.

"Playas Only" does sound like Usher, hadn't realized that. Probably cuz its such a blatant Scott Storch track. Also probably cuz it doesn't have the same exact lyrical, thematic and musical qualities as a specific Usher single.
