Question 1.

Will his sales go up?

Question 2.

Will Orlaith be out on Friday?

Ah, I know, but it's sort of music related...

In case anyone is assuming anything, I have to say:

"she is officialy bonkers in the nut if she thinks this is a good idea"

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 08:35 (twenty years ago)

It's a pity they all can't do synchronised swimming to 'The Drowners'.

Dead Kenny (Dead Kenny), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 08:49 (twenty years ago)

"Will his sales go up?"

Only if they then use the relevant footage in / as / instead of a video.

(NB: I am automatically asuming that she will be topless whilst performing this display).

"Will Orlaith be out on Friday?"

What? When that total dork Eugene and that whiny emotional and intellectual retard Vanessa are also "nominated"?

I can only say that I think it will be a complete travesty (and, I shall suspect, a triumph of jealous bitchiness on a national scale over any sort of reason) if she is!

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 09:46 (twenty years ago)

blount will be pleased that he will soon be as popular as the pop singer james blunt

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 09:59 (twenty years ago)

Whilst I agree that Eugene and Vanessa are prob'ly worse, Orlaith is a vacuous dead-eyed nobody with plastic tits. Ideal choice of record, really.

Taste the Blood of Scrovula (noodle vague), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 10:18 (twenty years ago)

Do you really think the Great British public are going to vote en masse to remove this sort of entirely unnecessary and completely unprovoked displays of blatant exhibitionism from our television screens?

Personally, I very much doubt it.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 13 July 2005 10:29 (twenty years ago)

Those things are horrible.

You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you.

Her upper torso on the second from left picture resembles Zig or Zag from the Big Breakfast, with a lazy eye.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Thursday, 14 July 2005 09:54 (twenty years ago)

You know, I've just realised he is actually called James Blunt! I thought that was someone doing teh funny on his name!

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 14 July 2005 13:25 (twenty years ago)

Sorry? Which one's called James Blunt? Zig or Zag?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Thursday, 14 July 2005 14:15 (twenty years ago)

He does sound like Zag! (the one on the right) now you mention it!

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 14 July 2005 14:17 (twenty years ago)

"Zig Zag Wanderer". There, I said it before Stewart did.

Dadaismus (Dada), Thursday, 14 July 2005 14:18 (twenty years ago)

You can huff, you can puff
Never know what I have found
You can Zig you can Zag
Whoa I'm gonna stay gonna stay around

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Thursday, 14 July 2005 14:23 (twenty years ago)

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 14 July 2005 15:51 (twenty years ago)

I miss Calum. I was wrong. Please forgive me.

Question 1.
Will his sales go up?

Well, he's number one in the singles chart now...

Question 2.

Will Orlaith be out on Friday?

It's a good enough reason.

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 18 July 2005 07:07 (twenty years ago)

I was extremely surprised how unpopular Moloko is with the general public.... could it be that people actually resent the fact that she seems to have managed to take a little bit of control back from Big Brother?

"You will do as you're told and passively accept other people being in charge of you and messing around with you like everyone else, without having the temerity to question what they're doing, why, or their inalienable right to do so - that is the British way!"

I can't help but wonder if kids who are studying George Orwell at school are now being taught that O'Brian is the hero of 1984....

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 18 July 2005 09:06 (twenty years ago)

The fact that she's vile and repellent probably has something to do with it

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 18 July 2005 09:08 (twenty years ago)

Winston Smith was hardly a clean-cut, blue-eyed, chisel-jawed archetypal hero type....

Still, if being vile and repellant is the key, at least we should see the back of that spoiled, whining, immature, egocentic, primadonna Kemal this week.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 18 July 2005 09:25 (twenty years ago)

I was thinking of maybe starting a thread "POO: Big Brother 2005 Housemates you'd be prepared to spend an evening with" but then I throught I'd probably have to nominate one myself to get the ball rolling and.... actually they're all pretty loathesome in their own individual ways, aren't they?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 18 July 2005 09:37 (twenty years ago)

And they all belong on ILE not ILM!

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 18 July 2005 09:38 (twenty years ago)

Probably true, but, you see, I don't actually go there, for the very simple and obvious reason that I don't "love everything" by any stretch of the imagination - in fact I couldn't even claim to like even as much as half of everything.

If there was an "I experience a range of emotions somewhere between ambivalence and outright hostility towards the majority of things" board, I'd be there, but....

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 18 July 2005 09:49 (twenty years ago)

It's not the level of control over Big Brother that's upset people, it's the level she's exerting over everyone else (with varying levels of success) that's the problem.

Anyway, back to the music. The kids are nuts for the Rezillo's album, although Amber wants to know what 'head kicked in tonight' means...

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 18 July 2005 10:03 (twenty years ago)

"It's not the level of control over Big Brother that's upset people, it's the level she's exerting over everyone else (with varying levels of success) that's the problem."

My point (which was obviously badly made) is that at least she's not allowing BB to control the entire proceedings - she's regularly throwing her own little subversive spanners in the works, and I applaud that.

The fact that she's effectively exerting control over everyone else in the House is (imho) a consequence of their own gullible, sheep-like mentality (I'm still not entirely convinced that all of them have actually grasped the fact that they're involved in a game show yet!) so that's no-one's fault but their own.

If the majority of the "great" British public haven't grasped that it's a game show either; or just find it easier to relate to the moronic likes of Anthony, Craig and Eugene; then the country's in even deeper shit than I'd previously feared.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 18 July 2005 10:24 (twenty years ago)

"Ah, I'm sorry, you have to pay for further argument..."

Big Brother (UK 2005) - Come anticipate Makosi's eviction with us all, we friendly (thread 6)

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 18 July 2005 10:26 (twenty years ago)

The fact that Makosi had sexual relations with the "moronic likes of Anthony" in front of several millions TV viewers leads me to question her own claims to any kind of intellect

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 18 July 2005 10:28 (twenty years ago)

"Amber wants to know what 'head kicked in tonight' means... "

Now Amber, can you imagine what would happen if Maxwell was out with his friends on a Saturday night; going 'round all the East End pubs and clubs looking for nice ladies; and they hadn't met any ladies who wanted to dance with them; but they'd all drunk an awful lot of beer and an awful lot of vodka and Red Bulls; and then Science appeared and started shooting his mouth off to Maxwell and genarlly "dissing" him in front of all Maxwell's friends; only they weren't in The Big Brother House surrounded by TV cameras, they were down some anonymous badly-lit back alley somewhere in Canning Town...?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 18 July 2005 10:33 (twenty years ago)

Oi! 'e's from 'ighbury - that's almost my manor!

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 18 July 2005 10:35 (twenty years ago)

Also, walking down a riverside as we were last night, Alice asks "What's a wrangler?"

"How do you mean?" I ask.

"You know.. Shoop shoop .. a wrangler, Shoop shoop .. a wrangler .."

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 18 July 2005 10:35 (twenty years ago)

"The fact that Makosi had sexual relations with the "moronic likes of Anthony" in front of several millions TV viewers leads me to question her own claims to any kind of intellect"

A 10 watt bulb can appear bright when it's surrounded by 5 watt ones....

Are you making unsubstantiated assumptions or are you using the Bill Clinto definition of "sexual relations"?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Monday, 18 July 2005 10:36 (twenty years ago)

It's one leg of a 70's pair of jeans isn't it? (xpost)

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 18 July 2005 10:37 (twenty years ago)

Well she claimed she was pregnant didn't she? Charming behaviour all round really. (xpost)

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 18 July 2005 10:38 (twenty years ago)

Has it not occurred to you that she might be attempting to involve the entire viewing public in one of her little campaigns of misinformation?

It's a game show, there are no points for being charming.

Which is just as well really 'cos they wouldn't have given many out this year.
